Our stay wasn't a very good one! The water stopped working many times , the air conditioner stopped working too. The customer service wasn't really good and there was a lot of cockroaches in the rooms. The hotel looks nothing like the images and the hotel manager was very rude. The good thing I guess was the pool but everything was rubbish.
Had an amazing week here, yes it could do with a wee upgrade but it was more than we needed. Staff were all excellent and nothing was a problem, shuttle into town can be negotiated if you speak to Khalid, a horse and trap tour round old and new Marrakech is a must we did it on our last day and wished we'd done it on our first x
Nice and secluded, rural location but not necessarily isolated as they offer free transport to and from the centre, 20 to 30 mins drive in their minibus. Very polite, friendly and helpful staff who are always willing to assist guests. Food from the set menu is prepared onsite and is OK but the choice is limited...better to eat out if you want plenty of variety, available in central Marrakesh. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, serviced daily with air-con as standard. Interior decor is largely traditional rather than contemporary and feels authentic enough. Situated inside a village, the hotel is not normally buzzing with people as one finds in the more vibrant, urban locations. For me, this adds to the relaxed ambience and rustic charm and should be the main reason for your stay, should you prefer to be situated outside of the city . A fair sized pool is set in a well tended and unbelievably spacious garden populated with exotic fruit trees, as well as herbs such as rosemary and thyme. Expect peacocks walking amongst you when you go for a stroll. The pool is suitable for children and grownups, with a depth ranging from a shallow 2 feet to a maximum of 7 feet, approximately. The area surrounding the accommodation is flat, expansive, open agricultural land and is home to some locals comprising the village community, who are also friendly and welcoming. The view from many of the rooms includes the Atlas Mountains in the distance- a little over an hour away by cab/tour bus. A large roof terrace offers more seclusion for tanning yourself away from the pool...during my stay in August 2017 the sun beamed down its naked rage at 42 degrees and more. I look forward to staying here again, for sure.
If you are looking for peace and quiet and don't want to stay in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Marrakech this place is for you. For us it felt like home, and the staff treated us like family. The manager and all the staff went above and beyond their job role to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our holiday. The hotel is traditionally Moroccan and spacious. The hotel has a beautiful garden with a swimming pool and peacocks, birds, cats and kittens. The hotel is also great for getting to the Atlas mountains in an hour or to Marrakech in their free shuttle bus in 20 min. The hotel does have very little WIFI signal during peak hours but at night and early morning the WIFI is fine. As with a lot of places in Morocco you cant buy alcohol at the hotel, however you can bring your own alcohol (we even had our own fridge) despite this your can order food and soft drink throughout the day and night, and the staff are very willing to whip you up their moroccan and english delights!
The Riad was nice. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating & gave us what we asked for. The room was huge and had enough space for us to move freely. There was a pool that was nice on the compound, the food oh my goodness, was very delicious. The chicken tanjine dish was my favorite, I could eat that daily! This Riad was family friendly in my opinion. They offered shuttle service to & from the airport as well as to & from the city centre and to the excursions. The staff also advised us in advance about shopping in the markets & souk as far as prices on things & to bargain. I would recommend to anyone going to Marrakesh.
Not sure quite what to expect of this place, having read mixed reviews before we flew out, but were really pleasantly surprised at this lovely place. We got there at 10:30pm and were greeted by the owner, who organised fresh orange juice for us all to drink, after a hot and dusty taxi ride! Everything about Riad Qodwa was designed to make you feel relaxed and comfortable, the room we stayed in was roomy and perfect for our needs, air-conditioned too which was nice. Breakfast (included in the package we had) was great, very simple but ideally suited to our needs, pancakes, yogurt, fresh orange juice, and nice to eat outside every day too. All the staff we met were incredibly helpful, we went on a trip one day to the Ourika Valley, highly recommended by the way, which was well organised, with a private taxi as we were the only ones going that day, and a guide to take us up to a waterfall some way up the Atlas Mountains (second highest in Africa next to Kilimanjaro). There's a handy shop 100 yards down from the Riad where you can buy water, crisps etc.which is pretty useful. The food we had was really good, all freshly-cooked and well worth waiting for (you should order an hour before), again very simple but delicious. Great shuttle bus service twice a day as well, we found that if the 12-seater bus was full the staff would organise another (free) taxi which was a nice touch. All-in-all a wonderful introduction to staying in Marrakech, wouldn't hesitate to return anytime, highly recommended.
Had a lovely stay in riad Qodwa. Situated in a quiet area about a 20 minute drive to the main markets of Marrakech and half an hour drive from Menara airport. The grounds of the hotel were stunning, beautiful gardens, decent sized pool and surrounded by peacocks. The rooms and amenities were quite basic but we spent most of our time out on excursions or around the pool/lobby area. There was free wifi which at times did lose connection. Free shuttle services were provided to the main city at select tomes during the day which were very convenient. I could not fault the staff, they were all friendly and more than willing to accommodate any requests we had. By far, the best service I have ever experienced in a hotel. Also very child friendly. Massive thank you to Khalid and the others for a fantastic break
I have just got back from four nights at Riad Qodwa and had a brilliant stay. Rooms were large with good facilities (if a little tired in places) with amazing views of the mountains. Huge pool with plenty of seating to accommodate the relatively small number of guests that can stay at one time. Fantastic hosts willing to help with out stay, and the twice daily shuttle bus to and from central Marrakech is perfect. Food was slightly disappointing but the meal on our last night was spectacular - if only it had been this good every night! Would recommend and would stay again.
Riad Qodwa is really lovely shabby chic kind of place I kept thinking about the marigold hotel - it has that quirky, a little run down loveliness about it. The room was huge There were problems with the shower but it didn't really matter The hotel is low cost and it could probably charge more. The staff were just attentive and kind It was the most relaxed break and great shuttle service into the hustle and bustle of the Marrakech town. I will go back because it's a perfect chill out and do nothing space
