Me and my mother stayed with Judith and John for a week, having a great experience with a real local touch. I cant explain with words how kind everyone was and how much we enjoyed the local experience. I really recommend anyone and everyone to visit this place and meet the locals. Marie is a great breakfast hostess and made me and my mother feel totally at home. Thank you Mango Beach Inn!
Judith, John, and their wonderful team are what make Mango Beach Inn so special. They can help you do as little or as much as you'd like to. Having lived in Marigot Bay for decades, they know everyone and can give you the best advice about anything on St. Lucia or in Marigot Bay--how and with whom to get around the island--really anything you need. Our room was quiet and comfortable and had its own covered, private patio. It was steps away from the pool. The harbor room upstairs is where guests gather for breakfast in the morning, a comfortable place to read or hang out, and is where you can order the most delicious rum punch you've ever had as you watch evening settle over the bay, and watch the endless parade of amazing yachts come and go. It's a magical spot and arguably the best view of the bay. If you want to be active there is a challenging trail up to the top of the ridge which will reward you with even better views of the area. There are also endless possibilities for things to do from snorkeling, gardens, waterfalls, boat trips, or a visit to the nearby rum factory to name a few. (Go for lunch at the Pink Plantation!) There are several excellent restaurants and bars around the bay with enough variety to keep you happy for an extended stay. (We were there for nearly two weeks and never felt we ran out of options.) Hassy's is directly on the water just below the Inn –not fancy but an easy place to pop down for a drink or to grab a snack. There is also a lovely sandy beach with a great swimming area a very short walk from the Inn. Mango Beach is on the North and more quiet side of Marigot Bay but everything is just a short "ferry" ride away. Mango Beach is a homey welcoming inn--it's not a flashy five star resort--so don't go there looking for that. What you will find is some of the nicest people you'll ever meet (really everyone) and an absolutely memorable experience in an incredibly beautiful place. Five stars from us!
Mango Beach Inn is a wonderful place if you're looking for a truly relaxing and peaceful stay in St Lucia. The historic building is beautiful and stands proudly in the lush forest of the hillside on the northern side of the bay, easily accessible via the free taxi boat travel included in your stay (which run well into the night). The view from the main lounge over the lush gardens and bay is excellent. A great place for the fresh fruit breakfast and a rum punch in the evening. The 3 room options are simple but provide everything you need and the shower always had warm water and good pressure. Air con is available to take the edge off of the hot nights. The pool is situated within the peaceful gardens and the beach is just a short 2 minute walk away through the mangrove boardwalk. Judith is a wonderful host and is a large part of what makes staying at the Inn so enjoyable. She's always happy to help and advise on day trips or restaurants and how not to get ripped off. Her greatest skill of all however is ensuring you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Upon arrival, we were greeted after a long journey with a delicious homemade rum punch - a recipe dating back to when they first took over the Inn in the eighties - which Judith and Marie kindly took the time to teach us how to make for the rest of the guests. Can't wait to try it at home! Judith also has two lovely dogs (Honey and Belle) who are great fun to play with and two cats (Snazzy and Jazzy) who you'll see snoozing about the place. All very well behaved and will leave you entirely alone if you're not big on animals, but if you want to play then they love that too. One of our party is allergic to pet hair but had absolutely no issues during the stay. We'd recommend this Inn to anyone who wants a nice relaxing stay in the bay. Hope to visit again one day.
We had a wonderful stay at Mango Beach Inn in Marigot Bay. The view is amazing. Judith is the best host, we’ve ever met. We’ll definitely come back! Thank you Judith and the whole team! Thank you Alfred for taking care of our punctual transportation!
We stayed here with our 3 small children for 9 nights and had a super holiday. We spent some of our holiday in the more touristy area of Rodney bay in one of the big hotels and the stay at mango beach inn offered a different complementary experience. Judith, John and Marie made us feel so welcome and were so attentive to our needs, and the accommodation is stunning and so peaceful. The breakfast room was a joy to be in both mornings and night time and we spent hours relaxing in this room watching the beautiful bay and all the comings and goings there. The swimming pool was lovely and the children made great use of it. The breakfast was simple but very good. The ferry is the only way to the inn which means that the setting is so quiet and peaceful. We would definitely recommend mango beach inn for a personal and homely stay in an idyllic St Lucian setting.
Mango Beach is the kind of lovely villa that you see in classic films, or maybe a Caribean murder mystery from the BBC for example. It has character! Situated on a hillside overlooking the prettiest bay in St. Lucia, you can easily spend a whole day simply sitting in the vibrant garden and watching the sailboats and hummingbirds. The hotel only has a few guest rooms, so even in just a few days you will get to know everyone. The inn has a delicious local continental breakfast, and a fantastic hiking trail to a stunning view atop the hill. Accessible only by a water taxi, the villa is removed from the ‘resort’ culture of St Lucia tourism, but easily within access to anything you want to do (including a resort day pass if you want a bit of that flavor) and each room comes with a thick guidebook made by the inn keepers with all the best things to do, who to call, and how to do it-this is where you go if you want to experience the real St. Lucia and it’s wonderful, complex mystique. The inn keepers are lovely and extremely helpful and attentive. I highly recommend you book a room for as long as possible at Mango Beach. I have included two photos, one of the view from my breakfast table, and one of the view from the hiking trail on the property.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Mango Beach Inn where John, Judith, Marie and Kiki provided us with excellent hospitality. It’s a friendly and relaxed place where we really felt at home. A quaint and authentic place with just 3 rooms, perfect for peace and quiet and relaxation. The inn is on a secluded side of the bay with no neighbours. A brief boardwalk through the trees takes you to a small beach about a minute away, where we rented a kayak to explore further out of the bay. A small free ferry takes you across to the other side of the bay in less than a minute, where you can find bars, restaurants and taxis. The highlight of Mango Beach Inn is the large guest lounge room that offers stunning panoramic views over Marigot Bay – a gem of a location and vantage point! We wiled away many hours in the sun by the lovely private pool (guests only) surrounded by beautiful flowers in the garden, watching the yachts go by in the bay below. The owners provide an honesty bar where you can grab water, soft drinks, a nice cold beer, wine etc, which we enjoyed whilst reading books, alongside their two friendly dogs Belle and Honey, who liked to keep us company. Hassy’s Bar below the pool made an excellent rum punch. We rented a car for a couple of days and went south of the island to visit the Diamond Botanical Gardens, rum distillery and Hotel Chocolat cocoa plantation, and north to see Pigeon Island and the national park (lovely beaches). Thank you for a wonderful stay! :)
We had an amazing stay at the Mango Beach Inn, the staff and the owners make the stay here truly memorable, the accommodations are quaint but very comfortable. Staying here gave a real feeling of St Lucia, the people and the lifestyle. A real highlight of our entire vacation. Even with the resident cats (I have a cat allergy) I didn’t have any issues whatsoever. Also, the dogs are the sweetest! Thanks for an incredible stay.
A great property nestled high up for great views of the bay and boats that is surrounded by beautiful flowers and wildlife. We stayed in the Green Fig room with garden, not completely private, but sitting outside watching the boats in the bay was very relaxing. Judith, John and staff are brilliant hosts and nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend hiring a car if you prefer to get out and about further than the bay or a boat trip. The free ferry is ideal for getting across the bay. Mango Inn is an old building with plenty of character and 5 ☆ service.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mango Beach Inn. It is one of the best spots in the whole Caribbean. The Inn is on the quiet side of the bay with excellent views. It is only a 2-minute walk to the beach where you can rent kayaks, SUPs or small sailboats. There is a great hiking trail behind the Inn that gives you great view of the bay and beyond. Judith and John are excellent hosts. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend staying here if you are thinking of visiting Saint Lucia
