Room was spotless, clean and looked newly renovated. Beautiful water access down the road and a full bar right in the middle of the property. Front desk guy was super nice, overall great experience. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We will be back. Ignore negative reviews, this place is a gem.

We stayed at Tropical Cottages for one night on the 19th of May. Our cottage (#4) was very cute, reasonably priced and clean. It was nicely decorated, had a patio our the back door, and a patio by the front door. It had a nice kitchenette and a great air conditioner! Crystal, the receptionist was so sweet, and took good care of us. They have a cute Tiki bar and Crystal occasionally would stop by and check with the guests to see if they needed anything. We would definitely stay here again.

Last month we stayed for one night at the Tropical Cottages and we found it suited our needs. When we arrived, which was early, there was no one in the office but a maintenance man asked which room we had reserved and it turned out it was ready for us. So we dumped our stuff to go out for lunch. Upon arrival we were told about a party at the tiki bar that evening for a returning employee and we were encouraged to bring our drink of choice and join the party. After lunch we napped a bit and then made cocktails and walked to the tiki bar ready to be friendly and meet some people, and celebrate the bartender's return, but we were not welcomed very warmly. Not that anyone was outright rude to us, they just had no interest in talking to us, which surprised me. I believe the bar was all locals and that was fine. So we drank our drinks and went out to dinner. Rooms are cute and small and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioners are about 9 feet off the ground and there wasn't a chair in the room so it was tricky cooling the room. Overall we had a nice stay.... would we return... . definitely!!!!

Very friendly staff, great location and very clean. Plenty of ice for our coolers when we needed it too! The back of cottage #2 is enclosed with a privacy fence if you bring your doggos too which was nice. The wifi didn't work during our stay but we were out and about most of the time anyway so it wasn't a problem.

The location of the cottages is perfect! Very close to attractions, beach and shopping. We had a car and there is parking available next to each cottage. Some shopping and restaurants are also within walking distance. Check in was easy, even with us arriving late at night. The folks at the desk and housekeeping were very nice and very accommodating. The cottages are very adorable! Granted, there is some noticeable water damage along the bottom of the walls (of our cottage at least), remnant damage from Hurricane Irma I assume. But the floor is clean, the bedding clean (only lightly worn comforter—which, it’s too hot in the Keys to use anyways), and the bathroom was clean. It’s otherwise in fine condition; it’s no 5 star hotel, but if you wanted those accommodations, you would be staying in a high end resort . . . We found it very suitable to our needs, and enjoyed coming back “home” after a long day of activities and sightseeing. If you’re willing to accept living arrangements with a few blemishes, this is the perfect spot!

We stayed here during Fantasy Fest - a bit of a drive from Key West, but we also have a friend in Key Largo. The room was spacious, the bed comfy (although I prefer a softer pillow). The people working there are very friendly and laid back, just as you'd expect in the Keys. The only real problems I found were the hot water ran out pretty quick in the mornings, and there is a noise factor if you are in one of the connected rooms - I imagine if we had stayed in a cottage that would be reduced drastically. All in all, though, a very "Keys-y" experience . . . I could see staying here again ;)

We just spent the last 4 days here in cottage 12.. this place is awesome! We met some wonderful people, made new friends and the employees.. Well Curtis & Crystal could not be better! They were both so extremely friendly. Recommend places in the area and were just genuinely awesome! Always had a smile on their face! The cottages are clean & spacious. The place is quiet & very relaxing! May different sizes & styles to choose from. The property has a tiki bar for both guests and locals to hang out, meet each other and drink. We are already planning our next visit!!

We are locals to the area, living on our sailboat. After an accident that left my wife with a few broken ribs, staying on the boat wasn't a good idea. The got us a room at a fair rate. The cottages were lovely and well appointed for extended stays with full kitchens and Nice showers. I would definitely stay here again if needed. Great staff was considerate and helpful.

The room was nasty, the showers dirty, one of the Window AC was not working, the sink was falling off the wall, there was compound work on the walls that was not sanded down or painted, there were moldy water stains and holes in the walls. They blamed the sink on us when we arrived we left the room and signed out first thing in the morning. Our food was infested with ANTS the moment we put the box down and went to the "terrace". They are not customer friendly neither is

Booked appointment for 3 weeks out through Says in the confirmation agreement " All payments will be made at the property during your stay" Well that's a lie. The next day ALL the money was pulled from our bank account. We attempted to contact owner/ manager but the receptionist kept telling us he/she would call back. Never heard a word. Three days later we attempted to get to help us. Next thing you know we have our appointment cancelled and loss all our money. Their answer is " we have a policy that if you cancel we keep your money. If this would have been handled correctly from the beginning, non of this would have happened. Thanks for ruining our vacation, I know you really don't care.
