Last week, me and my friends stayed in this hotel. I must admit, I didn't expect much from this hotel cause it's cheaper than the other hotels. But this hotel truly surprised me because of its classy swimming pool. Aside from the pool, I also enjoyed the cozy ambiance of our room which helped in relaxing our stressed minds. And I will surely come back because of the very accommodating staff. So, two thumbs up for Manila Grand Opera Hotel! 👍🏻👍🏻
Ok, this is the honest to goodness review from check-in to check-out. Location is OK since you can go to and from MGOH via LRT1 since it is near D. Jose station. We go to the hotel via car and it is a struggle to go there because the roads are under contruction as well as this pesky jeepney drivers who use the roads as they're terminal. If you want to have a nice spot in parking, you have to go as early as lunchtime. We arrived around 2:30 that's why we have to park the car near the sidewalk. If you're parking near the sidewalk, you have to leave your keys to the guard on duty. Come check-in time, the queue is quite long and it takes us for abt 10 or 15 mins to check-in, You have to pay 1k refundable deposit fee. the staffs are friendly and whenever you meet them either in the hallway, elevator or any part of the hotel, they greeted you with a smile and courtesy. As for the room, it's ok since the hotel, I believe is quite old. they just did some little renovation in the room. Premier Suites welcomed you with 2 bottles of water, Lipton tea and several coffee, creamer and sugar. Water heater is ok. Ref is ok. Toiletries are ok. faucets and showers are with water heater. the only downside is the bath towels which I think that it is time to replace because it looks like a rag to me. Over-all stay in the room is OK. not disappointed and satisfying. I think they should also replace they're TV since it's quite old. Better replace it with LED ones for a better viewing experience. As for the buffet breakfast, I love the Potato wedges, Macaroni salad and the fruits that they served in the buffet table, Spag is quite dry that I have to only tasted it once. Coffees are OK. Wide varieties of juices are to choose from. As for the amenities, we didn't try the swimming pool since I didn't feel well that time. Overall experience is OK and will definitely go back here for a short staycation and to relax
Yung rate mura lang, very affordable. Maganda yung room, may pool and nakaka relax yung place. Kung nagpa-plano kayo mag unwind at lumayo pansamantala sa stress, ito ang sagot. Di ka pa mastress sa byahe kasi malapit lang. Mag eenjoy kayo dito.
I was not expecting the kind of service I received in my last stay with Manila Grand Opera Hotel. I'm not sure if it's because of the price that I got the room or it's simply that their service is just deteriorating. The front desk male officer is a bit grumpy. Then when i saw the towels that were provided, my friend and I thought that they were foot rugs. They were not even yellowish they were just disgusting. Our dogs towels are better than those given to us.
Budget Hotel indeed, the price is not too much but it should be lesser. Why did I rate it poor? For one, we paid in full for 2 rooms a night before we stay. Our check-in time is at 2pm, we arrived 2pm but we do not have any room!!! Why? We paid and full and were guaranteed. We were finally able to get our room at 4PM. They gave us a compensation by adjusting our check-out time. (instead of 12PM, was made 2PM). Brief orientation about the blah blahs and hooplahs which I did not find interesting. However, they mentioned something about the pool area, blah blah, no need to bring towels, the attendant will provide. Okay, we went to the pool, and boom! No towels available. We should have brought our towels. We walked in the hotel soaked until we reach our rooms. Breakfast? Yeah! It's full of EGGS!!! sunny side, scrambled, omelet. common man! why too much of this? come check out, we were pestered, we got calls for checking out at 12PM, well, you guys extended us up to 2. but that was not a biggy. Anyways, staff are friendly. Will still go back if there's no choice. BTW. dont check under your bed. It's too dusty.
Not the best hotel I've seen for its price. The 8th floor may be one the the good space for seminars but not wide enough to accomodate 200 persons. The comfort rooms are also on the average. The food served are not quite yummy. It's a bit pricey to serve us bread and juice for am snack, and kangkong on their lunch dish. Other foods and snacks are not appetizing as well. It was so bad they failed on their offered dishes.
Me and my husband stayed for a 3d2n in this hotel. The rate is affordable. We booked thru travelbook. The location is good because it is accessible via LRT D.Jose station. The lobby is nice but the receptionist and staffs are just ok. They are not smiling when they are attending their client. The restaurant is good. The staff here are much better than receptionist because they approach and greets clients with big smiles which is pleasant to look at. The food is just ok. They serve the typical breakfast. The room. We got the premier room. The first thing we notice is that there are no windows. I think if you are a claustrophobic, this place is not for you. The pillows are so lousy, I got neck pain after our stay. There were only 2 pillows privided and we did not bother to ask for additional pillow as i think (im not sure) it has addt'l charge. The personal ref was unbalanced. The TV was old school. No slippers provided. The aircon remote is not working. We cannot change the temperature. The bathrooms are clean and it was good. I think the rooms are only divided with wood. It became hard for us to sleep the 2nd night because there were bday (i think) celebration happening on the other room and we heard every laugh, sing, talking and other bugging noise. We called the front desk about it and they called the other room about the noise and they toned down just abit. The pool is nice but it's a bit dirty. The shower rooms in the pool area are stinky theres only 1 shower working eventhough there are 2 cubicles for shower were there. The sauna was good. This place could be much better to match the name "Grand Opera Hotel".
I decided to book to this hotel since the price is reasonable and it has a pool. All my expectations were met! I am an OFW and wanting to have more time with my family for having a staycation in the busy street of the Metro and this hotel gives this kind of experience! I will definitely come back again to this hotel in the near future and will recommend this hotel to my friends!
