First Hotel Jörgen Kock3.0 out of 5.0

All reviews are very subjective, but for me, over a week long stay at First Hotel Jorgen Kock, it proved to be an excellent choice. This is a three- star hotel and is on a par with a Premier Inn hotel in England. The General Manager told me that the building was once where the workers at the old Kockums Industrial site used to reside in the past, so the rooms are larger than normal. The four Receptionists who I met -Elina; Daniella; Daniel and Leo - were superb. Really, really friendly and always ready to oblige with some chat when they weren't busy, always ready to answer questions and very efficient with check-in and check-.out duties. The breakfast buffet is absolutely excellent. There is a really good range of cereals, seeds, dried fruit, soft berries, yoghurts and milk. In addition, there is a cold meats section with Swedish accompanying relishes. Then there is a hot meal section and a really healthy bread section, plus jams etc. Swedish coffee and a drink machine is available. Breakfast time can often get extremely busy and staff work exceptionally hard to keep up with demands. I was full of admiration for the morning staff. The morning I left, the breakfast room was full at 0630 and staff were still at full blast at 1030. Full marks to these fabulous personnel. The rooms are spacious and very well-appointed for a three-star. My room was clean when I arrived and it was kept clean and neat during my stay. Personally, I had nothing but praise for Housekeeping staff. She / they did an excellent job. The only negative in my room, were the two small armchairs. They were old and had no cushioning in their base, so were uncomfortable to sit on. As I did not spend a lot of time in my room this wasn't a huge problem, but I think they could do with replacing. The hotel is very conveniently situated and is only a 4 or 5 minute walk from Central Station and just a couple of minutes more to Stortorget (the large main square) and Lilla Torg (the little square), where there are lots of restaurants and coffee shops. Malmo has really opened up the canal system and waterfront areas and these are well worth exploring. Kungsparken (Kings Park) is a beautiful park to walk through. So much to do now in Malmo, but go to the Travel Shop for more information. This is very close to the Station and the hotel. Finally, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay exploring Malmo and my experience at First Hotel Jorgen Kock. I will be returning to both sometime in the future.
A hotel with a good location, quite close to the center of Malmo city. We stayed one night as a family treat, with a booked restaurant etc the same evening. The receptionist was nice, however when we stepped into our room everyone in the family agreed that it had a very funky smell to it - almost like somebody had forgotten and left their old, smelly trainers there over night. It was THERE and thus difficult to ignore. We had ordered a queen sized bed and two single beds, however got four single beds instead - one of them extremely soft and terribly noisy. Another bed had some sort of staining on it, we restrained from trying to guess what it could have been. The bathroom seemed clean at first, but after a closer inspection one of us discovered tooth paste stains on the door and in the sink. The guest bathroom didn't have any soap(!). Something positive was however that the hotel had a rather lovely and fairly big breakfast.
The hotel and staff are OK, and it just take 3 minutes walking from the central station. The rooms are nice, perhaps they need a refurbishment. I booked a 3 beds room, and the 3rd bed was a metal folded one, quite ugly. Breakfast was really good. Enjoy!
This hotel has a very good service. it is very well located, the breakfast is not so nice....standard... the rooms are big but the furniture is quite old. You can find some parking slots near the hotel but it has a garage as well.
This hotel was booked for me on a business trip by our Travel Agency. Location is in a calm but boring area 5 min walk from the city core of Malmö. If you go by train its, 300m from the station. The service was fast and professional. The room was nice with a quiet wentilation system, wich is important for me. So, overall a nice Place although not cheap.
The hotel is rather comfortable even if the furniture is a little old fashioned. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is very good, both in terms of food and in terms of atmosphere (very nice breakfast room). Location is central (few steps from the central station, centre at a walking distance) Good ratio quality/price I would definitely stay here again
Good hotel. Rooms are a bit old, but clean. Big room! Walking distance from central station, located in a quiet area. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Would stay there again as it was pretty cheap and worth the money.
A great hotel that is centrally located and two block from the central station. The staff is very nice and the free breakfast is very good. Rates are affordable making this hotel the perfect stay. I was very happy with my experience.
Calm place . Easy to find near railway . Close to buses and center of town . Breakfast vey good . The bed was a little hard but was exceptabel .No noice . The view was not so good but sowhat . The room and toilet was big enough for two .
