This is our 4th time to this resort & as a family we love it kids are now 13 & 5,we all love it here, fantastic pool area, great beach 5min walk, many restaurants.we love the staff here many who were here on our 1st visit in 2010 who we now regard as friends.go on try it you won't be disappointed.
With our rooftop apartment came the great choice of sunbeds everyday and privacy of our own space. As it was our son's birthday while we were there we were given champagne and a small cake to celebrate. Also included in the price of our holiday was an hour in the spa which was really good. A well stocked fridge everyday of beer and soft drinks and a weather forecast and more water and chocolate delivered early evening. I'm out first visit to the evening bigger we were told a could sit anywhere. On sitting in the outside seating area we were appproached by the staff and we're asked to move inside! The outside was virtually empty and remained this way morning and evening because it was only for select guests. (Again in the evening we were removed from seating in the outside bar area Blah bar) On speaking to Mico (consierge) the day after she explained that even though we were deluxe customers these areas were not included in our package. We had a choice of 3 restaurants on an evening which had to be prebooked. Albufera restaurant was by far the best. (We had an instance in Picco restaurant where the waiters were actually arguing where we were sitting! This put us off going back. Bald with glasses waiter was very rude especially to his colleague). The buffet in a morning could be hugely improved by moving the train which caters for the small children to the entrance as then the children would see it and the food could be kept fresh and children entertained. Where it is situated now people don't seem to know it's there until the children are actually climbing all over the train. The on site shop is great for choice and price as we found it cheaper than the shops on the main street outside the complex! The burger van is a little goldmine and well worth a visit. The apartment itself was a little cramped for 2 adults and 2 teenagers especially with just one sink and bathroom. However the shower was amazing (rainfall shower). The private terrace was ample for the four of us. Free WiFi was a bonus for teens in our house! House keeping visited every day and kept it spotless. Grounds are well tendered and clean. This hotel is mostly suited to young families. Not much for teens.
Twelve of us stayed here, as recommended by the cycle company Accommodation was clean and spacious Food was good and the staff provided excellent service Lots of good facilities like pool, table tennis, etc
Hi, We stayed with family 10 days. Rooms was old and litle aged style. Pools ok. But no waiters in pool area. So if you wanted something walk to pool resturang and buy. Breakfast was great! Few time what we eat dinner was not so good. Beach near hotel was a beach but not super. Normal beach. For families i would recomend Alcudia . Nice and good place to stay with family . But take a closer look and book some other hotel.
Visited for a week with our 22 yr old daughter, so the "Aparthotel" was a perfect arrangement. Although a large complex, there is a boutique hotel vibe, the pool areas are surrounded by lovely, well cared for gardens and the eating/bar areas are all very smart. The staff are lovely and so efficient, great variety of food. Special mention to Marco Antonio who greeted us each day in the restaurant, what a warm and funny guy! If you do stay here, be sure to hop on the bus to Alcudia old town, a real gem to wander around!
Just returned from a 4 night stay. On arrival we were upgraded to the deluxe apartment - what a great surprise! We were three guests, so we had two beds in the bedroom and one on the sofa bed. The sofa bed was such great quality that it felt like an ordinary bed which is rare! We were on half board, breakfast buffet was great but weren't such fans of the evening buffet. We upgraded to the Picco restaurant on the first night for €8.50 supplement. Was a great meal - with so much food and amazing cocktails! The only issue I had was more with the resort as a whole - no Spanish restaurants and other than Picco, no appealing restaurants in the area. Took the bus to Puerto Pollensa one day for €3.20 return and had a lovely time there, had more authentic restaurants. The staff at la dorada were very helpful and friendly but some spoke German to you first rather than English. Overall, loved the hotel (minus evening buffet) and nearby beach but wasn't overwhelmed with the rest of resort nearby.
The hotel is clean, updated, very family friendly. We chose a rooftop suite with a pool and outdoor sleeping area. It was perfect, large area to lounge or nap. Curtains to adjust sun exposure, complimentary drinks in fridge. During our trip the weather was superb. Warm with just the right amount of wind to keep you cool! This would be a perfect place to revisit, the beach is across the street, with ample lounge chairs and unbrella. Friendly locals selling fresh fruit on the beach. Warm refreshing water in end of June. Clear blue water no jelly fish or seaweed in sight, crystal clear ! Muy Bonita!
Chose this hotel for a Family holiday arranged through Thomas Cook. Very impressed with this hotel and the facilities it offers for all ages. Five pools to cater for all competencies, including toddlers and disabilities. Very safe bathing area with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. Children's activity centre with supervised programs. Crazy Golf, table tennis, gymnasium and spa. Good restaurant facilities with excellent buffet choices and adult only dining areas or a la carte options. Evening entertainment most evenings. A short walk from a safe sandy beach which is monitored by a life guard. Excellent views of the Port D'alcudia. The rooms are arranged across 5 apartment blocks with each compartment comprising a bedroom, bathroom with bath and shower, vanity area, lounge with TV and free Wifi, well appointed kitchenette and small dining table. A spacious outside balcony with table and chairs completes the package. Thoroughly recommended and would definitely stay here again.
So, first off: this is a great family friendly resort. It is tasteful, well designed and compact - creating the feeling of a much larger resort than it is. My kids loved it - life revolves around a series of pools, most of which are shallow and perfect for the children to splash in while Mum and Dad lie on the sun loungers. Daily life also centres around the excellent Froggy club, which organises a series of activities for the kids from arts and crafts to mini-discos to pony riding around the complex. There is a small play ground and always something going on. The apartments are small but tastefully designed, with a little kitchenette to do some quick lunches should you have had enough of the passable bars and restaurants. Breakfast was great, with a well stocked buffet. Staff were, on the whole, friendly and helpful. So far, so good. But if you are thinking of coming here for a stay, there are a couple of caveats. Firstly, the age of your children: ours are young - three years and ten months. So you don't actually spend a lot of time on sun loungers, rather supervising them in the pool. Which is of course expected, but aged 3-4 is also too young to be left at the Froggy club without parental supervision. We thought the resort might better suit kids who were a little older and more independent - maybe 6-12. Then you would hit the sweet spot of holiday for adults and kids. Secondly, the restaurants and bars are all fine, but none blew my mind and they could occasionally be a little same-y. We were really glad we didn't take the full board option - some of the people we spoke to were going a little stir crazy, eating in the same place each night. Thirdly, where the resort is situated: it isn't a particularly interesting part of the island. We would stroll out to the excellent beach, but there was little else to see on the main street, and some very average restaurants. It was quite tacky and touristy. So it all fed into this feeling of being a little trapped on the resort. After getting bored on day 4, we hired a car and drove around the STUNNING island of Mallorca. The scenery is beautiful, and places like Port De Pollensa and Soller are well worth visiting. After getting out and about, I became frustrated that there wasn't anywhere in or near the resort to sample stunning Mallorcan food, drink and scenery. Finally, it was busy. So if you are after a really quiet time, then it is of course, not for you. That isn't to say that it wasn't relaxing, but pool side is pretty chokka. This would probably be obvious to you if you were choosing this type of holiday, but I've never been to such a resort, so I was a little taken aback. So, in summary, this is a great family resort. My three year old loved it and spent hours playing in the pool with new friends. And my wife loved it for that reason too. That said, and it is nothing the resort can resolve, but it also put me off coming on this kind of holiday again. My wife disagrees here, but I think I would like to come back to Mallorca with friends and family and hire a villa somewhere beautiful. Although the resort was convenient, practical and excellent in many senses, I sometimes felt desperate to break out, and frustrated that excellent Mallorcan food and scenery wasn't more easily within reach. PS: Wi-fi was free, but poor.
Went for half term and if you have a young family this is spot on. Very clean, very practical, with enough activities to keep the children entertained and well laid out. About an hour from the airport so all in all good. We only ate lunch in the hotel and the sandwiches, salads, burgers etc were all good generous and well priced. The other buffet food on offer in the hotel looked ok and there isn't much on offer immediately outside the hotel, but Alcudia and Port d'Alcudia isn't far with plenty of things to see and do. There is also a good variety of restaurants and bars in these towns. The rooms are big enough with a little kitchen area with hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster so can do a bit of self catering if it helps the budget. Would be very happy to go back.
