The first impression of this hotel is really good, as it has a modern design, is very clean and well maintained, which is all really good. The greeting from the Staff is genuine and welcoming, and you get the feeling that nothing is too much trouble. there's a choice of restaurants and bar within the hotel campus, and plenty of activities to get involved with during the day, followed by entertainment in the main bar / seating area of an evening. This is good as there is nothing much in the way of entertainment outside of the hotel. See comments at the end of this post So if you are looking for somewhere to relax, with everything you need (excluding saucepans) in one place then the Prinsotel is perfect. We went self catering, and would advise you to buy a saucepan and some basic utensils, as we only had a frying pan and a kettle for cooking with, but a visit to the local supermarket in Can Picafort sorted that out for us, which was good as the bars and restaurants seem really expensive compared to the other parts of Spain we have visited recently, so eating out can get very expensive very quickly If you like getting out and about and finding things to do, apart from the beach, there is absolutely nothing to do in Playa De Muro. There are bars and restaurants, but very little in terms of entertainment, and very little atmosphere. Also, as we have found over the last few days there is very little to do in the surrounding areas. So unless you want to drive everywhere, or spend a fortune on taxi's, this is not the place for you.
Well what can i say........this was our first family holiday with our toddler and we had an amazing time! Everything was quality, gorgeous and spotless. Cava on arrival aswel as a porter to take your bags for you. The most comfy bed we've ever slept in and the cot provided was fab too. The maids clean and change bedding and towels daily and do a fantastic job. The kitchen is basic, just a fridge, hob, old style kettle and cheap toaster. No oven. The bathroom was great, a bath with overhead shower and a wet room with a big waterfall shower and a power shower in there too! To big wardrobes and lovely suede sofa. Lovely terrace and great aircon! The staff were lovely and very helpful and genuine. There is so much to do in and around the hotel and we literally cannot wait to come back and stay here again! This will be the first time i've ever wanted to return to a hotel again as i normaly like going somewhere different each time, but will def come back here! Our top 3 places to eat were; Le Tabel, Dakota and El Patio. Amazing food and service and great prices! The beach was stunning and the whole town is so clean and tidy. Perfect holiday and highly recommend. Will list our few minor gripes to give a fair review; the lady working in the on site shop was unfriendly and couldn't look more miserable and put out by serving you if she tried! The staff at the Fusion restaurant next to the hotel were very rude and snobby. On the beach there was a constant flow of men trying to sell you sunglasses, watches, bags, robes ect and it got very annoying as they all asked you to buy everytime they passed you, however there was a lovely Spanish lady selling fresh fruit who was wonderful!! There are horse and cart taxis in Playa De Muro and the poor horses are worked all day in the baking sun until late everyday. This made me so angry. Lastly (not a gripe!) If you need pampers nappies bring your own if poss! They are around €15 per pack of 23 out there!!
Writing towards the end of our stay, on a self-catering basis. Generally very happy with our room - good size overall, great to have a separate bedroom as standard and the bathroom has a large shower as well as a separate bath. The hotel is just across the road from the beach. Our room overlooks the wetlands/nature reserve with mountains in the distance. Quite picturesque but sadly, there's also a coal-fired power station in line of sight. That said, we can honestly say it caused us no concerns other than being a blot on the landscape - no noise, smells or smoke whatsoever. We did get a few mosquito bites, so best to be prepared with repellant. For self-caterers, the kitchenette is small and basically equipped, with a two ring hob, a microwave, toaster and limited utensils. As a minimum, the addition of a vegetable knife and a pair of kitchen scissors would be very welcome! There is a reasonable selection of restaurants nearby however and were it not for the abysmal exchange rate just now, most are not badly priced. The hotel shop has a good selection of basics and is better value than the numerous Spar shops nearby. In fact, avoid these if you can. There's an Eroski Supermarket about a mile along the main road towards Alcudia which is considerably cheaper and is a decent size. Still, some things seem particularly expensive, including fresh fruit. Nappies seem incredibly expensive everywhere. The pool bar at the hotel is good for lunches and the vintage caravan, selling burgers and crepes, is a great feature. The pool area and grounds are probably the hotel's best feature. Plenty of sun beds, various pools, with lots of shallow areas, plus a designated toddler pool with a little slide. There's also a play area with swings, slide, seesaw etc. The gardens are lovely and well maintained and it's all kept very clean. One improvement we'd suggest is that it's made much clearer when the pool area is unsupervised and how/where to obtain help in an emergency. We saw a child slip and bang his head by the pool in the early evening; still a very busy time, but we couldn't find any staff nearby with first-aid training. The "animation" team is fantastic, especially for young children. Some really good activities on a daily basis and the staff are great with the kids. For grown-ups there are exercise classes, archery, rifle shooting etc and entertainment in the evenings. The gym is well-equipped with modern equipment, all in good working order. There's also a spa which you can use for 10 Euros. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. All in all, we've really enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider returning. Recommended, especially for families with young children.
We've just returned from a week at this hotel with our children aged 8 and 9 and we've had a fantastic time. We were greeted with drinks on arrival and upgraded to a superior room with terrace and plunge pool which was a wonderful surprise. We were self-catering so we ventured out most days to eat although we did eat at the pool bar one lunchtime which was lovely and not overly expensive like you would expect to find in a hotel. The pool and grounds are beautiful, lots of sun loungers with plenty of parasols so we never struggled to find a place to sit by the pool. Our room was fantastic, very clean, quiet and with great facilities. We were concerned about mosquitos having read previous reviews, however we didn't really come across that many at all. Playa del Muro itself offers plenty of places to eat and convenience stores which is handy for self-catering. The beach is beautiful too. Really clear water, ideal for children as it's very shallow for quite a way out from the shore. We tended to eat lunch here and then catch the bus into Alcudia in the evenings and had some fabulous meals in the old town which is beautiful. All in all we had a fabulous holiday and would highly recommend this hotel and area to others.
Lovely and clean, great kids facilities, we were self catering so didnt eat in restaurants but will definitely be back! Really recommend the duplex rooms with jacuzzi pool, lovely sepatare bedrrom and lounge area has 2 good sized single beds
You could not fail to be impressed by this lovely hotel. Beautiful gardens, pools and spotlessly clean rooms. The rooms are spacious and the beds in the lounge area are the size of single beds and very comfortable. The room was cleaned daily. We were in block 2 facing out onto the nature reserve but thankfully we did not suffer from excessive mosquito bites as mentioned in other reviews. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The only exception to this being some of the pool bar staff who were sometimes abrupt and made mistakes. Possibly the best thing is not having to get up early to reserve sunbeds. Even at peak times there were usually beds free. We had a fabulous time and would love to return in the future.
I stayed at the prinshotel la dorada for 4 nights, meeting my family who had stayed for 10 nights. We all had the best time!! The gym and spa were great to use and most of the time we even had them to ourselves!! The beach was also a maximum of 5 minutes to walk to which we visited every afternoon - definitely worth it!! Thank you very much for making sure our family had the best holiday possible!! We will definitely be visiting again!!
This is a wonderful hotel with everything you want for a perfect holiday. We arrived late at night and were greeted with a welcome drink and then we were shown to our room. The room was spacious and had a little kitchen, which was great. The pool area is wonderful with plenty of beds to choose from, you can hire towels and change them as often as you want. We were half board and the choice was extremely varied and there was enough to choose from each day. The rotisserie chicken was delicious! The staff are all lovely and work so hard, it must be such a difficult job and it doesn't take a minute out of your day say hola buenos dias! Marco, who is front of house in the restaurant, is such a lovely kind man and we looked forward to seeing him at meal times. The froggi club and its team are fab, especially the mini disco. The grounds are immaculate and so well kept. We will definitely return, we love this hotel x
Returned to this hotel after having a great time here last year with our kids who are now 4 & 7. We arrived at nice and were treated to some cava as we were checking in & we had help with our bags to our room. The room was spacious and clean and had good facilities for self catering which we decided to do this year. There are plenty of places to eat out around the hotel & breakfast is an easy meal to do yourself. During the day we chilled out by the pools and the kids enjoyed the play park too. This year there was a new kids space that had been created where they did activities and also the mini disco.I have to say that it was good for activities and also a great idea to put on a movie for the kids on the big screen in the afternoon for some downtime. I did not like this for the mini disco though so we tended to avoid it most nights this year. I felt it didn't give parents the chance to relax like it used to the big space in the bar. I didn't think think that some of the new animation team where as engaging and enthusiastic with the kids as the previous year. David still remained a hit though with bags of energy throughout the day. The hotel offers lots for adults too, I did yoga & pilates some morning and also aqua zumba (you must try with Max). Aqua aerobics with Lucy was always busy but I didn't try it. My husband tried the water polo and also football which he enjoyed. So lots to do if you want to but no pressure. The Albufera restaurant within was lovely for food and service was spot on too. We did the buffet one night too and it was good value for money and Marcos made us feel very welcome again. Towels can be hired for free and swapped every day for a 20 euro deposit which you get back at the end so we didn't need to use our own (could of had more space on way there for more clothes). overall, fab time had by all.
We can't say enough about this great hotel. It's our second trip there and it's was just as good as the first. The hotel is clean the staff are great and complements to the managent team because the place runs like clockwork. A special thank you to Marco though he is our sons favourite BFF. Can't wait to get back next year.
