We've stayed here 3 times now in the winter and spring, and we usually spend extra and get a suite. All 3 times, the room has been too hot to sleep, and the beds have a heavy duvet on them! Why is there no top flat sheet? This last time we had my mother-in-law with us as she was flying out from Malaga airport the next morning, and her room was too hot, too. She tried sleeping with the hotel bathrobe covering her. So, we're paying a lot of money for all of us to feel exhausted and ragged the next day. Ridiculous. Has hotel management ever tried to sleep there? The hotel itself is very nice, the new bar area is lovely, the staff are nice, and we loved the rooftop terrace. But, if you can't sleep, it doesn't work. So, we're going to try elsewhere.
This is our second visit to this hotel. There's nothing negative to say about it. It's very well located for sightseeing and shopping and the rooftop pool area with bar and restaurant is great. Bar prices are excellent and breakfast is also very good.
Brilliant location for sightseeing, shopping and eating/drinking in Malaga. The rooms are clean and spacious with really comfortable beds. Bathroom spacious too (our Superior room had bath with shower over bath). Great view of port from room, clean balcony. The only downside of the location was a lot more traffic and port noise than I expected - very tedious is you like fresh air at night (Typical of Spanish hotels you get heating but no air conditioning at this time of year). Bus from Malaga airport (3 Euros and seems quicker than a taxi due to roadworks in Malaga) stops about 50 metres from hotel at Paseo de Parque. Rooftop terrace with small unheated swimming pool was much quieter than my balcony, with panoramic view of city and port. Sun-loungers and towels available. Small compact gym available too. Excellent choice of food served at breakfast including lactose free milk. Hotel staff attentive and helpful - most speak some English which was better than my Spanish! Get used to having the door opened for you as you enter and leave the hotel.
We arrived the night before the Malaga film festival was due to start & the entire focus of the hotel seemed to be on that. At check in we were advised that the rooftop bar/pool could be closed due to the event. Fortunately it wasn't on the one night that we stayed. Help from concierge staff on arrival was nice. Check in was pleasant although nothing mentioned about our Marriott gold status apart from being given a list of the limited offerings. Room was very simply furnished. Air con was non existent as it was one of the old European systems where it is centrally controlled & can only be on heating or air con, not both. Sadly it was on heating when it was 19 degs outside. Far too hot, even when switched off & very uncomfortable without air con in these rooms. Balcony door opened but you couldn't sleep with it open. Bathroom was on the small side but with a good shower. Bar prices were good - €3 for wine & cava in both bars. Roof top views are managing. Lifts were quirky. Pool didn't look inviting at all & who would want to dip in with people sitting around having drinks. No loungers were available ether. Don't stay here for the pool scene! Would I stay here again, no. Didn't think that it was value for money. They didn't recognise the perks of Marriott gold in any big way. No free breakfast but we did get a room with a sea view.
Near the harbour and very near the cathedral and main town, the 15th floor has a restaurant, swimming pool and 360 degree views of the city. The ground floor bar is very well stocked and manages to keep an intimate atmosphere. Like most Marriotts it's well run and very modern.
The hotel room are very standard business . Nice to get access room with a view to the ocean but if you don't plan to stay in the room noget need. If you do you need to be aware of the noice from the street and harbour. The restaurant at the top is a must do because of the view and the food. Furthermore its not expensive as you world expect from a restaurant with that view.
Great place to see the beautiful sights of Malaga up on the top floor you will get fabulous service and fantastic views of the whole city ! It's a must when you visit this beautiful city ! The gin was served beautifully with nuts and seeds as a small tapas ! We went on a Friday eve and there was a DJ about to start!
Excellent situated hotel in Malaga. Close to beach, downtown, church, Picasso museum. Rooms are quit big and clean. Breakfast buffet has limited fruit choices. You need to arrive early for breakfast buffet in order to have more choices.
This hotel offers visitors to Malaga a central location that is close to the harbor, the Alcazaba, and the old city with all its restaurants. Our room was spacious, clean and well organized, the bed and pillows nice, and the bathroom modern and a pleasure to use. Definitely, I am happy to recommend the place to others.
I must say that I am a Marriott fan. I like this particular Marriott property as it is very easy to find, has great views of the waterfront, and is close to all major attractions in Malaga. The staff is exceptional at every turn. Well, well run. I will return here if I am in Malaga again.
