Excellent location for a family that's planning on discovering the city. I stayed here with my family of 5 for 3 nights and it was worth every penny paid. The apartment was relatively clean and secluded, allowing for a comfortable stay. The services were very modern. Even though it was my first time, but I'm planning on staying at this place on my next family visit at the end of the month. Awesome place with multiple points of access to transportation and a very lively surrounding for secluded apartment downtown. Employees were very helpful and friendly.
I found these apartments in a search for accommodation for the Madrid marathon 2017. These were perfect being only 400m from the start. In the weeks leading up to our stay, Monica was very responsive and happy to answer any questions I had. On arrival the office was easy to find and Monica was very helpful giving us a big detailed map of Madrid to help us. The apartments were a quick 10 minute scenic walk from the office. When we arrived at the apartments, there was a lift which worked well which we were grateful for after the marathon the next day. When you try and open the door be aware that you need to turn the outer ring which lies around the lock to the right way to open the door. We spent a good few minutes thinking we had the wrong key as it went in but wouldn't turn. A quick phone call to Monica solved it. Inside the apartment was well maintained and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. There are a number of supermarkets within 5 mins walk and two literally round the corner. There are a number of restaurants within 5 mins walk with good food and so these apartments are perfectly placed. A 10 mins walk takes you to the heart of Madrid and the main park is a 5 minute walk. The only downside to this apartment is that there can be a bit of noise from apartments above and a bar on street level open late on Friday and Saturday. I'm a light sleeper so earplugs are always at hand and were needed on one night but it wasn't a major problem. Overall great place in a great city. Would def use again.
Pros: - Responsive property manager and someone was there when we arrived (not sure if this was by design or coincidence since we spoke about the same amount of limited English/Spanish) to point out the basic features of the apartment. - Convenient location to the main museums, pretty short walk to main shopping area, and a not unpleasant, but longer walker to La Latina and Royal Palace areas - Good basic facilities (washing machine, fridge, pull out sofa bed, etc) Other (not necessarily cons, but not pros...): - You get what you pay for. This was a pretty inexpensive apartment in a major city. The bed/pillows/towels were pretty uncomfortable and the apartment was a little stuffy. There was also hair from previous occupants that stuck on some of the rugs/couch. Nothing gross, just kind of like couch surfing... - Pretty spotty wifi connection, especially in the bedroom area Other: We had our 10 month old baby with us on the trip. For 20 EUR (rate could change) for the stay, we were able to borrow a pack and play for her to sleep in, which was helpful, although there wasn't a lot of extra space for it, so keep that in mind when planning. There was also an elevator and a slight ramp towards the door, which made entering/exiting with her easy.
Really clean, all the basic necessities right in the heart of Madrid, within easy walking distance of all the key destinations. Kitchen was excellent for making breakfast, the street was as quiet as any Madrid street. Bed was comfortable. 20 minute walk to Sol and Plaza Mayor, 10 minutes to the Prado, 5 to the Reina Sofia and very close to Atocha station (perfect for storing our luggage on the final day was we did not fly until late evening!).
The apartment was in a great location - 15 mins walk to Gran Via, 5 mins walk to anton martin metro station and 5 mins walk to some great flamenco shows. There is also a convenient shop around the corner and about 10 bars/restaurants within a stones throw of the apartment. Hassle free check in using the code and the apartment was spacias and comfortable. We also really appreciated the late checkout when requested and despite us not having a working phone, Monica at the office was able to organise a taxi transfer for us to the airport via email. During our stay the staff were very helpful and accomodating. The only downside was the noise and lack of soundproofing...but earplugs sorted this out for us after the first night. All in all a great place to stay while visiting madrid and would definitely stay here again in the future.
Really happy with the location 7 min walk to tourist tack attractions and lots of little bars and cafes right on the door step. Clean tidy, has a lift, great shutters so good for a sleep in after a late night. If wifi is important to you not ideal the signal only worked in the hallway right next to the router. Intermittent in bedroom and non existent in living room. Providing laundry detergent wouldn't hurt either but maybe the box I bought is still in number 3
Great place to stay. Very clean and centrally located. Nice but small balcony with a street view. We didn'n meet the staff at all. They sent me a pin-code for the doors. Wi-Fi only in the kitchen-area.
We stayed with 4 friends visiting Madrid - specifically the el Bosco exibition in the Prado- which was at appr. 5 minutes on foot). The train station was at 12 minutes. The appt. was clean and large enough for 4 people. The "inbetween" bed was a bit small for 2 persons but manageable for 1 night. There were many excellent restaurants (for breakfast, lunch or dinner) in the direct vicinity. The price per night was reasonable.
Prado Apartments are very well located and perfect for a trip with a big group. The apartment where we stayed was relatively spacious and well equipped. However, the apartments also had some clear signs of under maintenance (some walls needed a fresh painting) and one of the rooms didn't had window shutters, which made very hard to sleep after the sunrise.
These apartments are well situated for exploring the Centro and beyond. They are in a quiet residential area 20-30 minutes walk from the Prada area one way and Plazza de la Republica the other way. Plenty of good local places to eat in the area. Door codes gave to be collected when you pay for your stay at the offices just off Santa Anna square, but, if you contact in advance and pay with a card over the phone they will email the codes to you The apartments are comfortable, if a little small. Only downside is that our windows looked into a light shaft in the middle of they building rather than looking out over the streets. That said being at the back of the building meant we were not disturbed by the night club some reviewers have mentioned. Decent shower and comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen area
- Walking distance to Prado Museum and Plaza Mayor
- Free WiFi in rooms and public areas
