I got a superior room and although it was the cheapest category of room they had, I was so impressed. So clean, such good lighting, so many pillows, good water pressure in the bath...it really made me feel good. The location is good, a bit off the beaten track, but you have buses and the underground nearby. Wi-fi worked perfectly. Breakfast was amazing, you can see it is made thinking to please the guest. I asked for a hot chocolate, and the most pleasant waitress ever had no problem to make me some. The staff at this hotel is incredibly nice, I couldn´t have felt better. They do care about the guest. I would like to give a big thanks to everyone there.

Honestly we didn’t spend too much time in the room but it was clean and comfortable. They clean the room everyday. Staff and Service was good. Breakfast buffet was great. Staff and Service was good. Location is OK.

The NH hotel Abascal was the best hotel we ever stayed at! Very very very kind, from the first to the last one, always helpfull with a smile!!! If we come back to Madrid, this hotel will be, for sure, the one where we’ll stay at!!!

The hotel was really lovely, very tastefully decorated. Simple and elegant. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room wasn't huge but it was plenty big enough and had all the amenities we needed. The hotels location was ideal for us, not right in the centre but right next to the metro station which allowed us to get quickly to anywhere in the city. (The metro is very simple to navigate). It allowed us to see some of the outskirts of the city not just the centre itself which was nice as if we had stayed in the centre we wouldn't have got this. The breakfast was incredible. One of the best I've had in a hotel. Lots of choice, fresh fruits, toast, bread, cakes, fruit, cereals etc. Would not hesitate to stay again or to recommend.

Very convenient location. Caring and attentive staff. Excellent breakfast buffet. Very clean. Concierge very helpful with arranging tours and providing excellent recommendations. We arrived in the morning and we thank the staff for making a room available to us. Good value for the money. Close to three Metro stations: Canal, Iglesia, and Gregorio Maranon. Time well spent. Would stay here again.

Disappointing hotel in a disappointing location. Stayed 3 nights in August at the start of a Spain and Portugal tour and cruise and was extremely disappointed in the hotel. As a tourist it is well out of the centre of the city and main restaurant areas albeit here is a Metro station quite close. The staff were pleasant enough but not overly helpful and lacked local knowledge of restaurants (even those noted in their guest book!) and sights. The hotel itself is modern but rooms are small and there is very little storage for clothes. Our room did not have a single drawer and looked on to a blank wall. This might be ok for overnight business guests but not for tourists. There were no slippers or robes supplied nor any water, not what I would expect in this class of hotel and our room was meant to have been a Superior one. The breakfast dining room was small with seating very close together and a bit chaotic when full. There was no menu for cooked items and hence trying to give and order to the servers, whose English was not good, was hit-and-miss for what was served. Make it simple for everyone and print a menu. Also during August they had changed the breakfast dining times and did not inform guests other than by a small notice in Spanish in the lift/elevator.

I stayed for 4 nights in a good sized room with one of the most comfortable beds that I've ever slept in: 6 pillows are too much but they can be tossed onto the floor. The air conditioning worked well thankfully. The bathroom had a big shower but it was a little slow to warm to the desired temperature. My only complaint would be the small wardrobe. Breakfast is continental style but they will cook eggs / omelettes and bacon fresh to order. There was a huge selection on offer including many different types of milk for people with particular dietary restrictions. All of the staff that I dealt with were nice and welcoming. The location is in walking distance of the city centre so ideal for any visits.

I always think that in any City you need to be close to a Metro Station and in Madrid the Metro is a great and cheap way to get around Madrid. This hotel has a Metro Station with in a 3 minute walk so makes a great base. Although it is on a busy road we slept really well. Staff are very typical of a City hotel functional rather than over friendly. The rooms are well sized and clean with an Expresso Machine which is nice touch. Overall very good and at under 100 Euros great value for a City Hotel.

I am a regular guest at NH hotels, it was my third stay at the Abascal this year and the service is outstanding, even more this time around! The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and very professional. They run a tight ship. All common areas and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The breakfast has everything one could possibly want. I love the location, it's very central without being in the middle of the hoard of people. It's very pretty and not pretentious. Definitely my favorite hotel in Madrid. ¡Disfruta!

This hotel is a great value for what you get. It is centrally located to most of the major attractions around Madrid. It's a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station. Plenty of taxicabs are also around if you want to go that route instead of using public transport. The room is modern and comfortable with hardwood floors instead of carpets which I feel are a lot cleaner. The beds are a tad hard for my taste and the air conditioning could be a lot stronger. When I was there, it was in the 90s F and it was always still kind of warm in the room despite the thermostat being set as low as it was possible. And this is nitpicking but the showers did not have a ledge for you to put your soap, shampoo bottles or razor. You had to have everything on the floor which was awkward. Breakfast was included and is quite adequate with fruit, cereals, juices, coffee, charcuterie and pastries but don't expect a full American breakfast. No bacon or sausage available.
