I moved to this hotel as the previous hotel was a little too far from the place I needed to go to. When I booked it I wasn't informed that there was a major renovations taking place. Hotels.com was selling rooms with balcony and I paid the supplement to have a room with balcony but the rooms was non existent. I couldn't fault the hotel which did their best to be helpful and nice whilst working under the plastic sheets that was all over the hotel foyer with dusts everywhere. If I had known that there was a major renovations taking place I would not have stayed here. Hotels.com was very dishonest in their dealings and never refunded me the monies I paid for the room with a balcony that didn't exist at the time of booking. Altogether this hotel is in a great location, rooms very clean spacious and and the staff are all wonderful and helpful.
From some of the reviews on Trip Advisor, I was a little concerned about the condition of the property, but as it was an Accor property, I decided it was worth the chance. I am glad I did. The hotel appears to be newly remodeled. The rooms and decor are in great shape. The location is terrific near the Plaza de Espana, but just far enough off the main streets to be in a quiet location. There are about half dozen restaurants within a block and it is an easy walk to the metro as well as to the Gran Via. It was also easy to pick up a cab. The breakfast was great. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The only negatives were that the Wifi could at times be a little slow and the business center was just one computer that had some printing difficulties (but the staff readily helped me print out my train ticket).
This was the third time my wife and I had stayed at the hotel in the past 10 years and it has obviously undergone a considerable refurbishment since our last visit. The reception and bar area have benefited from the alterations and the bedrooms are more minimalistic but very pleasant notwithstanding with the bathroom being a good size with a walk-in shower. The hotel is expensive enough in my opinion and I felt the service in the reception area was somewhat lacking.
New refurbished hotel near at walking distance from the city center. Very well situated with 2 subway stations in less than 5 minutes walk. We booked two rooms, one King Size with terrace and one standard double. The staff was still in "learning mode" at the reception desk, so it took a few tries to get the right room for the right people. But all the try-and-error was made with smile and good will. The staff is very friendly. I would really consider to book there again if I go back to Madrid.
Stayed here for 1 night, booked it coz of good reviews on trip advisor but was disappointed wen we checked in at 11 at night. Had to wait for 1/2 hrs for check in after 10 hr flight coz hotel didn't have exact specifications of our booking of a room with extra bed coz I was travelling with 2 kids(7yrs n 2yrs). Had to show the e mail on our I pad. That's wen they believed. On the top the gentleman at reception tells us that 4 people can't stay in 1 room acc to govt policy but he ll make an exception for us . But the description at website said kids under 2 yrs stay for free if using existing beds. N I followed it. I m hoping they didn't expect my 2 kids to stay alone in another room by themselves. I didnt know wat to believe. But anyways all this disappointment vanished wen we went for breakfast the next morning. All thanks to the smiling n courteous staff especially Ramone who even make the kids happy with the small toys. Thank u ramone for changing my opinion about the hotel. Great hotel n services otherwise.
We love this hotel for its location, and we normally stay here while visiting Madrid. That was our first time after hotel renovation, and I have to say that rooms are great, however I don´t like the new setting for the reception area. The front desk personnel looks more like bartender. On the other hand, breakfast was awful: fruit rotten, coffee machine not working, little variety ... for around 20 euros
We've just spent a 3 night break at this hotel, and we're very pleased. We'd booked via the British Airways site, both for our flights, transfers and hotel. I must admit, that on arrival, we were a bit 'iffy' about the look and location of the hotel. However, that soon disappeared. Check in was very easy. Reception is effectively a till at the bar. But it was speedy and friendly. We were in a Privilege room - 403 - and it was clean and bright. The hotel has recently been refurbished, so everything was fresh. Huge, comfy bed. USB charging points at each side of the bed. Free wifi. The bathroom was very good, with an excellent rain shower head. There was also a standard shower head fitted, if you preferred it. Plenty of products in the bathroom too. The location is excellent. Tucked into a quiet street off Grand Via, you are 10 minutes walk from the Royal Palace, and less than 5 minutes to a stop for the Madrid Open top buses. They are great value. €25 for a 2 day ticket (€13 if you are over 65. Take your passport, or a photocopy of it, for age proof, for cheap entry to lots of attractions) You can buy the tickets on the bus. Having seen the location of several of the other hotels we'd considered, I'm really happy we plumped for this one. Our only 'gripe', was the cost of breakfast. We'd booked room only by mistake, and adding it to the bill afterwards, cost us €15 each per day. However, I will definitely be recommending it to family and friends.
This hotel is in the perfect location for business and pleasure in central Madrid. There are main roads very nearby, two Metro stops within very quick (less than 5 min) walking distance, and great restaurants and stores in the area. The rooms are very comfortable, with aesthetically pleasing design, and very low noise. We had the breakfast one day and it was wonderful. An overall very positive experience that I would recommend to anyone staying in central Madrid. WiFi was free, easy to access, and highly reliable.
You will not be disappointed here. Great checkin, friendly staff, and most importantly, a large, comfortable room. The hotel has just been renovated (Aug 2017). Nicely appointed, comfortable bed, large bathroom; very hard to critique this hotel. Just a 5 minute walk from Plaza d Espana Metro and lots of restaurants, a gym, bars and even Starbucks 1 minute away. Would definitely stay again!
