Mercure Madrid Plaza de Espana

We stayed at Mercure during our stay in Madrid. It's brilliantly located just 5 mins walk from Gran Via and well connected by bus / metro. Rooms are of good quality and well maintained. Highly recommended.

A good central location and a sensible priced business hotel. I am sure that when the refurbishment is completed, it will be even nicer. Air conditioning could be a little more powerful, but the rooms are nicely laid out and a very comfortable bed. Check-in/check-out process was good. Buffet breakfast - reasonable.

A beautifully appointed hotel only opened for a year and a half. It was tastefully decorated with spacious rooms and a large shower. The decor was subtle yet chic. Renovations were still underway when we were there so we not inclined to drink and sample their delicious deli selections with noise. There is no pool or roof top but the new modern gym is next door for free use. Great location to central bars and eateries. You must visit the museum at the end of the street as well as the Temple of Dod. A lovely hotel with caring staff and great ambience.

The renovations were still in progress but almost all done - it was just the lobby area to be done. Rooms were very good, comfortable and bright. Bed very comfortable. Check in staff professional and fast. I enjoyed my stay here and will definitely stay again.

Chose this as an Accord member and based on location. Very near the Metro and Gran Via. Hotel reception was under renovation, but the newly-renovated room made up for it. Also, "Angel" was an heaven-sent. We almost missed our train ride to Barcelona because of a goof-up by the local private transfers provider (book through Accor/Mozio), but Angel took extra effort to help us flag a taxi during early morning rush hour. We did not get the chance to try the restaurant at the hotel as there are lots of choices nearby.

Just stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with wife and son. Had 2 rooms. Both rooms were very spacious, modern and clean. Hotel is still under final renovation but staff were friendly and helpful. A few gremlins with loose tap and bathroom door not closing properly.Breakfast is good lots of juices and choices to eat. This is a modern clean hotel located close to Plaza De Espana and local tourist bus close to lots of restaurants, and centrally located.Good base to tour Madrid.

The hotel is centrally located withing walking distance to Palacio Real, Templo de Debod and Plaza de Espana and a short distance from the Ventura Rodrigues metro station. Rooms are reasonably sized although the decor is a bit dated. Bathrooms are also spacious and feature a bathtub. My room had a spacious terrace which is great for relaxing in good weather although being a city center hotel the views are not too great. Reception, lobby and breakfast room are decorated in a classic style. Buffet breakfast was good and reasonably priced. The hotel does not have a restaurant but room service is available. Also there are a lot of restaurants and bars on Calle Princesa and Gran Via within walking distance from the hotel. Definitely worth a stay.

Nice hotel near city center, with many palces around. Hotel is just renewed, service is good, kind and professional. Rooms are perfect, everything is new. Big shower. Breakfast is ok too. The price is ok for the hotel level.

Stayed for two nights in business. Room has been upgraded. Very clean and comfortable. Building works being finished in reception but it was not a problem. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is literally a two minutes walk to several cafes and bars and only a 20 minute walk in to the heart of Madrid. I would recommend the hotel.

we stayed there for 5 days the hotel is under some renovation but that was not a problem!the rooms are new, very spacious, the stuff were very friendly!the breakfast was very nice with good variety of products!the hotel is right next to plaza espana!
