Great location. Nice alley near puerta del sol. Close to everything. WiFi was good. Stuff was friendly. Room is good size. Relaxing design. Modern. There is no view. Small hotel. You do not feel in gaint place. Price was good - about 100 a night.
The hotel is in a great location in the heart of Madrid center. For the price we paid the facilities were good. The rooms are Clean and not small. The breakfast is decent enough. The staff of the hotel are very friendly. And helped us in whatever we wanted. Generally and location wise a good choice in Madrid
This hotel is very central, beautifully decorated with really friendly helpful staff. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. Bathroom is a little small but adequate. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice but hot food is limited. Only downside was the bed was extremely hard - we had to lie on top of a spare quilt that was in the wardrobe. Also there didn't seem to serve food in the evenings!
Great little boutique hotel centrally located very near the Plaza del Sol. We were able to walk to all the major attractions. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We booked a Superior double. It was well appointed with a small sitting area and a large private terrace. I had read in a previous review that these rooms could be noisy because the terrace overlooks a street with a club very near. The front desk assured us that because we were there in the middle of the week that it would not be a problem. They were right-the club was closed. It was very quiet for us but not sure what it would have been like had we been staying over a weekend The regular double rooms were similar but very small. Breakfast was included and it was very good. It included fresh squeezed orange juice, a wide variety of breads, pastries, and croissants plus scrambled eggs and bacon. would definitely recommend this hotel
A friend and I stayed here for 4 days in late July. On arriving, we found the hotel entrance up a narrow lane which caused us a bit of concern when coming back to the hotel at night especially as we were 2 females travelling together. The hotel reception area is beautifully decorated and very clean and the check in staff were efficient. The Room: Our twin room was located on the first floor and there is a lift, albeit very small. The room was a good size and had a huge bathroom. The toilet however was very high and our feet couldn't reach the floor, so we kind of just swung about trying to get our balance. Also, the bathroom light was activated by a sensor switch which was fine until you decided to have a shower. The sensor didn't reach the shower cubicle and so every few minutes, you are plunged into total darkness, (there was no window in the bathroom) and I had to fumble around to get the door opened and then had to walk into the centre of the bathroom until the sensor reactivated and switched the light back on! Our beds were very comfortable and clean. We also had a TV, dressing table and full length mirror as well as a wardrobe. Inside the wardrobe, there was a small set of drawers, however, we couldn't open them because the facing of the door overlapped the drawers quite a bit. As a result, we had nowhere to store our underwear and other things that couldn't be hung up. We saw customers getting takeout food delivered to the hotel, so one evening, we decided to sit in and order out too. This proved nearly impossible as we don't speak very good Spanish. We telephoned reception to see if they could help us and we were bluntly told that we could order takeaway from an outside business but that the hotel would not help us to do so. The hotel's room service menu was a sushi menu, so we had no in room food options apart from that. I was quite surprised that there was no tea tray, kettle or cups in the room. Finally, on our last night, we tried to get to sleep, but couldn't because there was an outside party going on right below our bedroom window. The smell of marijuana was overwhelming and in the morning, the lane was littered with plastic cups, beer bottles, rubbish and cigarette packets. We mentioned it to reception, to which they just said " Yes there was a party out there last night." Breakfast was really nice each morning. Very laid back in a nice area next to reception. The food was varied and tasty and the staff very attentive. All in all, the hotel is decorated to a high standard, but could do with some little extra touches and a bit more helpfulness from staff on reception.
I used to use the hotel with the past owners and was good, but since it changed and was renovated the experience was much better. Rooms and accessories improved, lobby and Furniture also changed and was really nice together with the background music and overall service. Suggest to have the bar or kitchen open from earlier since if you have a meeting at the hotel in the afternoon there’s nothing to drink.
It was a bit difficult to reach the hotel from the airport and from the outside it really doesn't look appealing but it's totally different on the inside. We were there during Christmas time so maybe the decorations added to it, but the lobby felt very warm and welcoming. The breakfast wasn't different throughout our visit but it was great so I have no complains. I had the last room in the corridor and my window was towards an alley so it was a bit noisy from time to time. The room was quite spacious and so was the bathroom. The location was great too. It's very close to Plaza Mayor so it was nice walking there in the evenings.
Located in a laneway/ street this hotel was a real surprise we arrived early at approximately 9am after a short flight from Portugal and our room was available immediately. Beautifully appointed room large king bed clean nice large bathroom. Room was enough for a couple we were there for 3 nights . Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices and the setting was lovely, comfy chairs and helpful staff. Walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and the lovely square.
Decent location, but our room was dirty and worn out. I walked on bare feet for a bit and realized the floors were filthy. The bathroom should be gutted and remodeled. As you can see in the photos, there are many cracked tiles both on the floor and the shower. The tub looks stained and dirty and there are chips on the basin. The door is offset so it doesn't close unless you forcefully do so. And then there's "the view" to a bunch of ducts and roofs. We will never stay here again while visiting Madrid.
We stayed during late August. The calle it was on didn't look too inviting but once inside, it was a different story. On arrival we were greeted by a polite member of staff and were pleasantly surprised to find that breakfast was included. We were given a map of the area and the important local sights and social areas were circled for us. The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds. In the room, there was a minibar (which we used to chill drinks bought at the local department store's food hall), and TV (which had 8 or so Spanish channels [as expected!] but the other European channels didn't work). The lobby and breakfast area have an illuminated glass ceiling as well as boards illustrating different songs and scores. There is a good breakfast selection with cold options like fruit, yoghurt, cheeses, ham and chorizo, as well as hot options like tortilla, bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs. There were cakes and cookies, as well as a variety of juices and hot beverages. There was a small gym with 5 cardio machines and some dumbbells in the basement to help work off some of the breakfast buffet indulgence. I would recommend this hotel for its location, price and breakfast.
