We stayed here one night prior to flying out of Madrid to go home. The room was very nice and clean for the price. Though the room here was small, it was adequate for a place to stay for the night. The staff was excellent all around. We would definitely stay here again in Madrid.
We happen to stay there with the Spanish football team or as we call it soccer team. Very exciting. Staff were funny and friendly considering I don't speak Spanish. Great bed, pool, buffet breakfast. My daughter and I loved it.
Stayed hear 3rd of August for a week, we chose this hotel because of pool & location having stayed near by before for the football, the hotel was very clean staff were excellent always helpful (on two occasions we had issues with our room key& toilet both were fixed within 15mins👌)the pool is cold but when you stay in August this becomes quite refreshing, the pool area is compact some days no loungers were available, the breakfast was good value for money lots of options for all tastes, wifi in rooms is free very good we watched movies without any buffering also found bar prices in hotel reasonable, the hotel is cited near to Cuzco metro €1.60 fare too plaza de espania,we found this to be the best place to start the underground is clean and safe we used this to get about on several occasions just use the self service ticket machines English option, around the hotel are lots of bars restaurants for all tastes and I found reasonably priced, for the shoppers El Corte Ingles is near a department store for all, when we come back to Madrid this hotel will be on my list
We had a wonderful stay at the Melia, I would definitely recommend. Check in was really smooth and quick. The room was really spacious for three, I was impressed, although the decor was a little old. Security was really helpful when we had problems with the safe, they were prompt and efficient. I have no idea why the pool is kept shut till 11 am, this should really be changed. The tube station Cuzco is less than 5 minutes walk away and only one change to the center "Sol" station. The food, drinks, and service at the terrace bar were wonderful. Perfect location to be just far enough from the center and the airport. Wonderful Stay.
Wonderful week at Melia Castilla, excellent staff, very helpful, breakfast second to none, nice garden with out-door pool. Restaurants also splendid and like wise the lobby bar. Looking forward to another visit!
Spent 3 nights here at the start of a tour. Good points: Strong wifi and housekeeping were good Bad points: First 2 nights we stayed we had people partying until all hours in room above. One of our group had her handbag stolen from next to her at the hotel bar (early evening having a quiet drink). We had 4 extra drinks put on our tab that we didn't have - bartender said oh someone must of given your room number but you can't prove that so you have yo pay for them!! Breakfast was like feeding time at the zoo people and chaos everywhere. Definitely would not stay here again.
Delightfully appointed - the staff are outstanding- location is good with restaurants within walking distance. Although there is no need to leave the hotel as everything is at hand. Breakfast is reasonable. It's just another breakfast in another hotel. But the staff were good. The room is well appointed BUT it does need air conditioning as Spain is quite hot at this time of year. I fell in love with the shower - better than an orgasm in this heat.
Having stayed at another Melia hotel last year, and having searched for a good location, breakfast included and a pool in Madrid, choices were quite limited. So I decided to pay more than I originally budgeted for and went for the Melia Castilla. Overall it was a nice stay. The location is good - nearby restaurants and bars to suit different tastes/budgets; a few shops to grab water and other nibbles; close to a metro station as well. The room was fine, bed very comfortable and breakfast was top notch. My only criticisms were the pool was colder than we liked, plus the lobby bar was not always manned. We tried in vain to obtain our free drinks that were offered after several attempts. Service was sometimes a little below par but other than that it was a good choice and if returning I would consider again (if the price was right). I think I will look at Melia again, but was a tad disappointed that it wasn't to the same high standard all round as I have experienced in other cities. So for me it's a definite 4/5 score.
Hotel does not look anything special from the outside but the inside is very pleasing. However, the rooms are currently being updated but we were put in one of the out-dated rooms which was a shame. We asked for a premium family room as we were travelling with our 15yr old son. On arrival we found we had 2 single beds and had to ask for a further bed for our son. The room was then very crowded and had too much furniture. Breakfast was approx €11 each and as we are unable to eat much for breakfast we decided to take a few bits for later in the day but were abruptly told off by a very stern waitress. I couldn't see the problem with taking some food that we had paid for especially as some of the items were stale the next day so had obviously been left over from the previous day. Staff were not over friendly either. Check in and out were ok. The pool was not heated at all which was very disappointing..... in fact the water was ice cold! There was good supply of taxis parked near the hotel and the hotel was only a 15 min walk from the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. We did the tour of the stadium which was excellent and also the hop on hop off bus which was a fantastic way of seeing Madrid. Hiring bikes was also good and Toledo was worth a visit (via train) approx 30mins journey. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Madrid but the hotel had a few niggles but we didn't let that spoil our trip but they could improve to make the stay more pleasurable.
I stayed for one night on a work trip. Very spacious rooms, good blackout curtains and quiet. Nice having a slot in the mini bar fridge for your own items. Shame bed was 2 singles pushed together rather than a double. Excellent pool and good gym. Breakfast good selection no fresh egg station but a big dish of scrambled eggs. Taxis outside Wifi ok
