We travelled to Madrid on business and as our office is located by the Bernabau, we were placed in the Melia, which was only a 10 minute walk along beautiful tree lined boulevards. Upon being dropped off, I was somewhat put off by the exterior, which seemed like a hotel our of another century. How wrong I was! The lobby started to change my perception, as it is large and contemporary. My only complaint was the duration it took to check in - at 9.30pm at night! An air crew had exclusive use of one check in, leaving only two for a lot of people (this is a conference hotel - management should look at how they service conferences in Las Vegas). Whilst checking in, the staff member gave me tips on local restaurants - we took up her suggestion - before we headed to the room. The first sign of the true quality of this hotel was when the lift door opened to a fully refurbished corridor - with a unique floor covering. My perception was completely flipped upon entering the room - WOW! They have done a brilliant refurbishment and this would rate amongst one of the best rooms I have experienced. It was faultless - and the bathroom didn't let me down either. Some people may not like the floor covering , but the beauty was that you knew it was clear and felt very comfortable under foot, but I know a lot of people prefer carpet. The breakfast buffet was huge - and included a chef cooling omelettes to order. It was busier than Oxford Street due to a conference, but there was no wait for a table. Do yourself a favour and stay at the Melia. It is only a few stops out of the city on the Metro or less than a tenner in an Uber. Plenty of good local restaurants and bars nearby.
It's a very good conference hotel. - with a very boring continental breakfast. (Which cost a a rating bullet...) It would suit the hotel well if they hired a local chef to give him free hands and full control over the kitchen. However, the hotel staff was very polite and do their best to assist you. No waiting time at check in or check out. The rooms was very good and clean. Nice size Seems like there is a good maintenance. A nice terrace and pool outside. Good pub/bar. Slightly crowded in the evening so the mause be serving somethiing good :) Did not try the restaurant for dinner so I will not rate that The WiFi was very good. (Which adds a rating bullet) Good coverage and in range everywhere I tried. It was a company paid trip, so I don't know it the WiFi was included or addition charge for the room. Very good auditorium with all necessary electronic equipment in all seats. Definitely a conference hotel, or perhaps a family for passing trough one night. Not a romantic hotel for a couple. Slightly off the central areas as well.
I left an envelope at the reception at 11:30 PM on the 14th of May so another person can collect it. They lost it. The other person came twice on separate days and they did not help and they were rude. very irresponsible
Stayed on the 15th floor at The Level. Clean and well equipped room/bathroom. Good selection of food and drinks available at The Level. The Level staff were very professional and helpful. Easy to get into the centre of Madrid via Metro. The last day we walked to the centre and it took us about an hour. Highly recommend this hotel and location.
Looks a lot better on the inside than from the front. Nice rooms, god restaurants and super breakfast. Conference capabilities as well. The adress is perhaps not top relevant if you are a tourist.....
The decor in the upgraded rooms is lovely - possibly the best I've seen. Very comfy beds and good quality throughout even a powerful hairdryer! The conference facilities and service were also excellent.
Can't fault the hotel facilities or the staff. The pool was closed during my stay but the area around the pool was pleasant and the pool looked to be a good size for swimming. The food was excellent, the room comfortable. The bathroom facilities were adequate - my main criteria is a hot shower and it was. Not the most luxurious experience but very pleasant. I found the surrounding area not particularly pleasant, but the restaurants near the hotel were great - good atmosphere and good food.
room - small uncomfortable, decor-outdated.bathroom-outdated, breakfast reasonable.nice bar to relax.short ride from the airport but far from the main attractions except the Santiago bernabeo stadium. so if you are only for business its quite ok otherwise- my suggestion avoid and find much better option.
Found hotel to be more than satisfactory in every way. Room very comfortable. Lobby bar excellent. Staff very helpful in giving guidance to make our visit to Madrid most enjoyable. Will not hesitate to recommend.
Very close to the airport, I arrived and quickly checked in with no issues. The room was excellent, lovely decor and the bath/shower room was really well fitted out. Comfortable bed, decent mini bar. Only issue was that the air con wasn't working when I arrived but this was fixed when I got back to the room in the evening. Bar staff were great, as were the staff in the conference room where we were served dinner as well. Overall a great stay, my first time in Madrid and too short a visit, will return with family in future.
