Great room. Spotless. Simple, no amenities at all except soap and towels/very clean bathroom. But i recommend you book diectly as they offer early check in on their website but with other types of reservations youll be charged 30 euro for early check in.

The Hostal Oriente is the perfect place to stay in Madrid. We've been going there for 3 years. The staff is friendly and helpful and the accommodations are quaint and exquisite. Perfect location!

Great location, metro access across the street with easy connections to and from the airport or train station. When there you can walk to many of the sites in Madrid. Clean safe hotel with friendly staff.

Cute hotel in the middle of the old town of space, walking distance from El Mercado de San Miguel and the plaza mayor. We loved having a small balcony to looked out at the quarter but it is just very loud and people don’t go to bed until two in the morning. If you are willing to stay up, this is a great small hotel at a decent price.

The room was small but adequate and appeared to be a fairly recent renovation. The sound proofing between units could be better. You're very aware of voices and sounds from other units. At least this light sleeper was.

The location was very convenient and you can walk to all the major attractions. The room was very clean and probably due to renovation was done relatively recently from what I have read in the review. The staff were kind and very helpful. A couple of things… I wish entrance was more visible. Four other people and myself ended up trying to figure out how to get in. We eventually got buzzed in. I opted for a room without a view but I think I will pay bit more to get a room facing outside.

Just a crappy hotel for way too much money. I know $200 a night isn’t anything crazy but this place was pretty bad. We weren’t even allowed to use the air conditioner because it isn’t made yet even though the room was hot. One pillow per bed. No coffee maker. Just crappy.

Staff is very nice and helpful. They gave me good recommendations about places to eat and visit. Location of hotel is excellent: Opera metro station just a few steps away and you just need to walk 5 blocks to get to the Plaza El Sol and Plaza Mayor. Hostal Oriente offers a very basic furniture setup.

It was very clean and the staff were very nice. I had a room on a courtyard and did not hear the busy plaza outside. The hostal gives onto the Opera and is 5 minutes from the Royal Palace and its galleries. It is right in front of the metro. Ideal for visiting Madrid.

Loud

Small, clean, efficient rooms. If there were controls for the room temperature, we could not find them. It is very, very loud with human noise by day and truck noise by night, so we had to keep the windows closed, even though it was stifling. Upon our arrival, we rang a doorbell and were buzzed into a dark, unmarked hallway. After fumbling for several minutes through apps and messages to look for any instructions they may have been sent, we discovered a check-in table in a hallway several flights up. It would have been very helpful had they come to greet and guide us.
