Excellent location, great staff, fabulous rooms, from the moment you arrive you feel you are being looked after in a not overpowering way It's a joy to eat outside on the terrace and just watch the world go by

The building is gorgeous, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was so nice and spacious. Me and my gf spend three nights in the hotel "Hospes Puerta de Alcala" and were very satisfied with our stay.

The Hospes Puerta de Alcala is a beautiful building situated 30 minutes from the airport, it’s in a great location at Alcalá Gate and in front of the beautiful Retiro Park. Also close to the designer shops and in walking distance to practically everything. We were greeted on arrival with our choice of a welcome drink, the reception staff were extremely helpful and accommodating from the minute we arrived, until we departed. A special thank you to Carmen and Julio for being especially attentive, with their recommendations and booking an excellent local fish restaurant for us. Accommodation…The bathroom was lovely, so large and spacious, I really liked the open planned bathroom with his/her sinks, a roll top bath and separate toilet and shower room with rain shower. Our bedroom was so quiet and peaceful, the bed was large and comfortable, with an evening turn down service. Breakfast is a must, we were surprised how much variety there was for a small hotel. Despite three out of four days of rain we still had an amazing stay at The Hospes Puerta de Alcala, (the umbrellas the hotel provided were a bonus :-)) We still managed to visit all the sites. Can’t fault it, we’ll definitely be returning.

We arrived at 8:30 am and were given a quiet area above the Spa to lay down. They let us sleep until noon. It made our day so enjoyable. Our room was ready at noon and we had an upgraded 2 story suite. It was a fantastic room with a very dark bedroom. Nice tub, shower and double sink and very comfy bed! The living room was big and had a nice mini bar and it was a surprise the 1st day to come in to a nice cheese and fruit tray. The staff was amazing! A Great breakfast option and buffet as well. We walked to all museums from this location. Easy to get cabs as well. ILia or Zlia (can't recall) helped us at the host desk and was excellent.

My family stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is centrally located. The rooms are beautiful, modern spacious. The front desk staff is extremely attentive and can help you with anything. I highly recommend this hotel.

We loved staying at this hotel!! The staff bent over backwards to make sure our stay was perfect in every way. Our room was beautiful and spacious. The location of this hotel is ideal. It is near The Alcala' Gate and the Retiro Park. The outdoor dining setting was pleasant and relaxing and the food was great!!! I highly recommend this hotel when you come to Madrid!!

We very much enjoyed our recent stay at the Hospes in Madrid. The location of the hotel is just perfect, located at the Puerta de Alcala just across from the entrance to the Retiro Park and a 10 minute walk to the Prado. While our room was on the small side, it was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked perfectly in the hundred degree Madrid summer heat. The bathroom was commodious and had an excellent rain shower head. Staff was very helpful, especially when we arrived at the hotel by rental car. They came around the block and assisted with our bags and then drew us a map to the In-town Hertz rental return at the Atocha train station.

If your staying in Madrid for business, pleasure or shopping, you will never find a better place or location. Excellent Staff great rooms everything you need for a 5 star stay you'll get at this place. My absolute favorite Madrid Hotel

The people of Madrid just seem to be some of the friendliest and most welcoming we've met. This was true also of the staff of Hotel Hospes Puerta de Alcala. It was probably one of the biggest hotels we stayed in in our month in Spain. We were welcomed with an upgrade to a very spacious room, which was great as we were staying a little longer in Madrid. The hotel restaurant is excellent - it seems to attract locals also, not just hotel traffic - which I think is always a good sign. Madrid is more expensive than other Spanish cities (we found) so expect to pay more everywhere. The location of the Hotel was great - we were quite over seeing "monuments" so being on Plaza Independencia allowed us to walk around beautiful parks/garden and wander the old city. Wifi works well, and although we had a few problems getting the key to work (perhaps user error) we really didn't mind leaving it at reception - we always found we could get it easily enough. I would definitely stay again, and was impressed enough that we would also stay at other hotels within this group - hopefully they'll be just as good.

From start to finish our stay was fantastic. They helped us navigate the city and really made the stay interesting and great. Our room was very nice and clean. The old school key was not a problem for us as we just left it at the desk when we headed out.
