Had a very good short stay at this hotel, rooms were clean and comfortable with a mini bar and free safe. It’s a typical city hotel in a great location at a reasonable price. The breakfast was better than I expected after reading some previous reviews, there was plenty of choice, with a good selection of cooked meats, cheese, Danish pastries, crusty bread and sliced bread for the toaster etc. The coffee machine took a bit of figuring out but once mastered did good coffee. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. We loved Madrid and plan to return, would look to stay here again.
Just returned from a wonderful stay in Madrid - made all the more enjoyable by staying in the HRC Hotel. A warm and friendly welcome, spotlessly clean room with a balcony giving extensive views over Madrid. Extremely helpful and informative reception staff. We had an evening flight home, so our luggage was securely stored enabling us to be free to enjoy our day. The location of the hotel couldn't be better - easy walking distance from the Palce, Cathedral and Plaza Mayor and within easy access of other main attractions.A vast selection restaurants are also within striking distance - personal choice Casa Maria in Plaza Mayor excellent food, charming staff and inexpensive. The HRC is an excellent choice!!
I booked a city break to Madrid and got the HRC hotel Knowing nothing about where it was located I was very pleasantly surprised that it was in walking distance of Playa Mayor and Sol I was on the 5th floor and so had a balcony facing San Francisco's church - definitely worth a visit! I was very pleasantly surprised to be able to check in at 11am when the booking form said it'd be 2pm The room was very comfortable and clean I had opted for breakfast and it was the typical European fare so no complaints there I would definitely return to HRC hotel again The staff were great and the location exceptional
HRC hotel was the right place to stay for us. It's really not far from the city center (it's a 15 minutes walk max to Plaza Mayor). Our room was quite small (for North American standards) but it was very clean and very quiet. Finally, it was really not expensive for a big European city. I would go back there if I am going back to Madrid.
The staff are so helpful which was a blessing as we had a 9pm flight, storing our bags was no problem for them. We upgraded to a room on the 5th floor as they have terraces, this gave us lovely views over the city and especially the nearby basilica. The hotel is located away from the touristy parts but all of Madrid was easily reached by metro or tour bus. The tour bus gives a great way to see the city and get off at places of interest. It's especially well placed if you want to visit the Sunday flea market which takes over the nearby area. The room was small but reasonably equipped with hair dryer and mini bar. All in all, we had a wonderful time and especially thanks to all the staff there. We will return in the future.
Thanks to all the staff at the HRC hotel for making our stay so enjoyable. From the very warm welcome we received from Jose late at night, following airport delays, through to our departure we had no complaints about this hotel. It is ideally located for central Madrid but also very quiet. We made use of the 2 day hop on hop off bus ticket which was great for accessing all the main sights. We thought the continental breakfast buffet was very good (lovely warm pastries). Rooms are lovely and the airconditioning was much appreciated given the very high temperatures. A beautiful city and this hotel was a great base from which to explore it.
Very nice hotel in a good location. right on hop on- hop of bus route .hotel staff were very good. thankyou Jose. breakfast cold buffet was very good. we had a very nice room on top floor, great bathroom, and a super balcony over looking the main road,no problem. also a super church and gardens. the cable-car ride and a trip to the zoo are a must. a 15 min walk will get you you to many places of interest.
This hotel is terrible, the washroom is all mouldy and there are bugs in the washroom. The walls and ceiling can't block off any sound. I can hear a regular conversation in the room next door and walking on the floor above. The safety deposit box didn't work on the first night and it's still not fully working. It errors out 2-3 times before closing. I have 2 more nights in this hotel and I would not recommend this to anyone. Don't stay here and if you have to stay make sure it's not room 302.
Nothing to complain about. Good price and a great location. The hotel is a bit old and needs renovation. Close to everything in Madrid. The La Latina area is right outside the hotel. Perfect place for lunch and dinner.
It is rare when I travel in Spain with my partner to get anything other than twin beds. Therefore when traveling with a friend and specifying 'twin beds' on the booking you assume there will not be a problem. Never assume. With rooms at a premium throughout the city on cup final weekend, you do not want the awkward situation of a double bed in the room. Result? Complaint fobbed off, suggestion of discount ignored and one person alternating between the chair and the floor. Apart from that, the rooms were tired. The bed seemed quite old, the table in the room was scruffy and the shower lukewarm. Anything above £50 per night is too much for here.
