The hotel was great! Convenient to the town center, clean, awesome balcony overlooking the river. The breakfast was tasty too! They also let us store our luggage while at Machu Picchu. We had a great time!

Thanks to the reception desk and kitchen staff — they were super friendly and genuinely helpful. All the positive points go to them.
The missing two stars are for the following reasons:
We booked this hotel well in advance and ended up paying more than 30% higher than the rates closer to our stay date — over USD 100 per night on a non-refundable rate. When we later realized the location would not be suitable for work that required a quiet environment, we tried to change or cancel the booking through Hotels.com, but no flexibility was offered.
Upon arrival, we were informed that all rooms face the street and the river, and that there are no quiet rooms available. There were people gathering on the street directly in front of the hotel, and they stayed outdoors on benches overnight. As a result, we spent the entire night with constant river noise, street activity, and noticeable dampness in the room.
The rooms are also quite small. The hotel is the second-to-last property on the street; while this doesn’t make much difference in such a small town, it does mean there’s no added advantage to booking very early.
My advice: reconsider whether early booking is necessary, and be extra cautious with non-refundable rates. In my case, I didn’t realize I had selected a non-refundable option until I needed to cancel due to potential noise issues.
Convenient location. Expert helpful organized staff, comfortable clean safe room next to the roaring river, nice hot breakfast before visiting Machu Picchu. Happily stored my luggage until my train that afternoon. Fabulous hot shower not to be missed.
I’m so glad I chose to stay here! Thank you for everything!
Great location, Walkable, Girl at reception received us at station and also dropped us off at station. Very helpful. Thank you.
Breakfast was decent. Coca tea available. They provided luggage storage and bathroom before departure. Good value.
Great location and price. Loved hearing the sound of the river outside of our room.

My partner and I did lots of research on where to stay in Aguas Calientes and picked this based on the reviews and because it was within our budget. We ended up booking a superior room with a terrace and river view. However, immediately upon checking in, our room wreaked of mold/smelled horribly rotten and was full of moths. We couldn’t even really use our bathroom because it was so moldy and we could feel ourselves breathing in mold as we tried to sleep even when keeping the bathroom door closed. It was so bad that we almost moved to a different hotel entirely. Additionally, turns out the terrace for our room was shared with the room next door (unlike any of the other rooms). This meant the people in that room could walk over and look into our room anytime they wanted (would’ve been nice to know this when booking). Finally, the WiFi was down when we arrived and did not return for at least a few hours.
On a more positive note, the hotel did provide breakfast (bread, fruit, cheese, cold cuts). The beds were also incredibly comfortable and the river view was great (also was nice white noise while sleeping). They will also store your luggage for free while you visit Machu Picchu. However, when we picked up our luggage there was a sticky black tar like substance on our bags…
Overall, would not recommend as it was incredibly overpriced for what you receive, especially considering the dangerous mold conditions.
Our balcony had an amazing view and it was wonderful hearing the sounds of the river. The bed was comfortable and the staff was so kind. They allowed us to store our belongings before we checked in and even after we checked out. Recommend!
Room was clean, convenient and staff were lovely. The room didn’t have air conditioning which was fine but would leave loved mosquito meshing to allow us to open the window. Overall, enjoyed our stay
We had to rent a room with three beds for one night. Beware there is no elevator so we had to carry our luggage upstairs through a narrow staircase. This place is not ideal for elderly or people with disabilities. Breakfast was decent like anywhere where it’s included. The bathroom floor was sticky, and although my husband was okay (probably due to poor sense of smell) the pillows had an odor. The sheets and pillow cases were clean, but I’m not sure how often the pillows are cleaned. The view of the mountains and the river was nice, but there was a garbage pile up on the side of the road which looked like it was being actively cleaned up by locals. The distance to the train station was not bad, maybe about 8-10 min overall. If we ever visit again, I don’t think I will be staying there again.
I was expecting a little more to the room considering the price. That being said, it’s a great location. It’s across from the town tourist photo sign. The raging river is right behind that. Fun to watch the hikers walk by. It’s right at the end of a 4 day Inca trail hike. They’ll put a smile on your face!!
We had a room with two twin beds, which worked out fine and the beds were very comfortable. Overall, the room was a decent size and the shower was large with good water pressure. The balcony was very small, but did have a very good view made service did a great job cleaning the room thoroughly And everybody seemed friendly. It is at the far end of town so you always have to walk uphill to go anywhere, but it also gets you into a quieter area. There are multiple restaurants within a couple minute walk. The bus station to Machu Picchu was about a 10 minute uphill walk.
The location was close to the train station. The staff was ridiculously nice. The breakfast was extremely tasty and was available quite early. The best part was the view and sounds from the river nearby.
