Likes: Hotel staff (Alcides) communicated effectively over WA and provided useful information to plan our trip The hotel is conveniently located near the train station Our rooms had very pleasing views of the Urubamba river The hotel recommended a very good tour guide (Wagner) to MachuPichhu Dislikes: Late checkout fee of US$50 The shower in one room did not have hot water - a convenient alternate room was provided on the same floor, after some delay.

Ernesto from the front desk staff was awesome. Staff waa helpful. Hotel a little dated. Overall good experience

Hotel is a very good spot. I would probably stay here again. The customer service is pretty good. They were helpful in arranging transportation in Cusco and made some attempts to be helpful in other areas. They made efforts and that mattered. The spa and food are pretty expensive but they did have complimentary dessert one night. Don’t expect them to go above and beyond, but they will do just enough to assuage or prevent any discomfort.

Love the staff, breakfast, and hotel! Overall a great stay, I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Nice place to stay, great staff and great service Thank you

After hiking the Inca Trail for days, this hotel was such a treat! The staff were amazing, the rooms were beautiful, and the breakfast was delux. We also took advantage of the spa services, which were also fabulous. I’d highly recommend Casa Del Sol!

The service at this hotel is 5 stars. The quality of the staff is top notch and they are super accommodating. When we checked in we were greeted with a refreshing hand towel and tea. They escorted us to our room and shared knowledge about the hotel and town. The location is very close to the square and train station. The restaurant and rear rooms face the river which is gorgeous. The double room was a little small but to be expected with the location so close to the square where real estate is scarce. The room was probably comparable to a 3/4 Star hotel in the US. Great value for Aguas Calientes. You Can’t beat the breakfast in the morning and the dinner we had was top 20 of all time. Seriously we went to the best restaurant in town and the hotel prix fix dinner blew it out of the water. Their chef is on top of his game. I would have no trouble putting the dinner there against the best restaurants in metro cities in the US. It was that good. When you leave the hotel you can walk less than a block or two to restaurants, bars, shopping and the bus / train stations. Highly recommend staying here.

Excellent value! I was there to visit Machu Picchu, and this was a much better value than staying at the lodge. The restaurant is great, the staff was friendly. My room is half the price of others, and I have a private balcony with a Jacuzzi

Great stay and great location. Jacuzzi tub was broken but it was fixed within the hour of us calling the front desk. Good value for the luxury and breakfast and dinner included!

We booked 1 night via Orbitz (NOTE: you don't get any of the dinner or massage perks unless you book direct with the hotel). Had I known otherwise, I would've gone with another hotel or even hostel. Amenities are lacking for the price you pay. Wifi connection was poor. We booked the suite that includes a jacuzzi tub, as we were both looking forward to soaking in the tub after trekking MP. The room is nice and roomy. Floors are dangerously slippery. The morning of check out, we decided to soak. When I tried to fill the tub, the water leaked all over the tub and onto the floor. Maintenance showed up within 20 minutes and told us they'd come back with some tools. An hour passed, and we called down to reception. The maintenance worker had told them that we had broken the tub (???) and so there was nothing they could do. My husband went downstairs to bring the receptionist to our room to see first hand the leak. We didn't do anything to break the tub, and their accusation was unwelcomed. After going back and forth, we only have 1 hour until check out and there was no way they'd fix the tub in time. We were given 2, 30 min complimentary massages at their spa and were allowed to stay in our room until were done. Massage was relaxing, but definitely not worth the price. I'd go to another massage location and pay half the price for twice the time.
