Perfect place to stay in machu Picchu. I would stay there again.

Loved it. Very friendly staff. Fantastic food. The restaurant has great view of the river. Breakfast buffet was great. The dinner was included, yet the quality of food and presentation should be a five star Michelin. The bed was very comfortable. Each bed had 6 Down (feather) pillows of different sizes. The concierge desk made our stay very enjoyable. This is wonderful hotel. Very quite and 3 minute walk to downtown.

Great check in experience; porter brought our bags from and to the train station; excellent meal at the restaurant. Convenient location (close to train station and shuttle for Machu Picchu); beautiful view from our room; Great experience overall. A little noisy due to traffic outside.

Nice hotel. Close to the bus and train station. Staff is a plus

We opted to book this hotel in lieu of going straight back to Cusco the day we finished the Inka Trail and it was best decision we ever could have made during our vacation. While the ticket to book seems high, the amenities that come with it far exceed the cost - free four course dinner, a massive breakfast spread, excellent service and onsite spa. We stumbled into the reception area smelly and dirty and the staff treated us as if we were heads of state welcoming us with warm washcloths, fresh iced tea and delicious high-quality snacks from the kitchen. The delicious food followed us everywhere we went through our stay, seeming to just appear wherever we were (just check Instagram posts tagged with SUMAQ for proof!) To make our stay even better, they accommodated last-minute massage appointments for us the same day and offered to clean our very smelly laundry while we were pampered. The luxury never ended - the meals were outstanding, robes and slippers in the rooms, wonderfully comfortable beds. The best part? Outlets in the room that fit our American chargers! Hallelujah, no converters needed! The Wifi connection was also strong enough to support a facetime call with family! Staying at the SUMAQ Macchu Picchu Hotel will be the best decision you make if you go to Macchu Picchu, whether by foot or train. We cannot recommend this hotel and its value enough! We may go back to Peru just to stay here again!

Friendly staff and great service. Close to bus station.

Great location, comfortable and without question some of the best food in my two month journey in South America involving 25K travel mikes and 7 countries

Great decor Good food Avoid rooms facing street as buses make terrible noise starting at 4 am

Fantastic experience. I enjoyed the hotel, from the afternoon tea, welcome drink, dinner, breakfast and even the cooking class! Oh, and Machu Picchu is nearby!

The location was good, but thought it was a little expensive.

We had a wonderful time at the Sumaq hotel. After a long trip to Aguas Calientes, this was a great resting place. It was really nice to hear the rushing sound of the river (and nothing else) during the night. The staff were also very attentive. Unfortunately, we departed Aguas Calientes the same evening that we returned from our hike up to the top of Machu Picchu Mountain, which was our only regret -- we should have rested here for a second night before continuing on with our trip.

We had a great stay here which included breakfast buffet and 3 course dinner. Beautiful rooms and facilities with undertones of the great Inka culture. Amazing food, great view of the Urubamba River, and comfy beds. Highly Recommended!

Great staff! very helpfull attentive great views from the hotel

I highly recommended this Hotel because the personal just make you happy all the time!!! If you want to have nice and great vacation at Machu Picchu Peru, stay only here at Sumaq!!! Than you guys, again! Love you!!! Elena Ruchey, 2012

Great location, short walking distance to town but away from the crowds going to Machu Picchu. We had a room facing the river and enjoyed the thundering sound of the rapids. Staff were friendly and efficient.
