Would actually give it 3.5. Great location. Nice clean bathroom. Corridors could do with a bit of a fresh lick of paint. Some stains on our bedroom carpet. Pillowcases did not smell freshly washed. Staff helpful.
Lovely Hotel, very clean and nicely decorated. The elevator is a treat. The standard rooms are nice, but small. Consider upgrading to a larger room. The location is great for walking to the shops and sites in the old part of town and convenient to the University. The staff is very friendly and willing to provide recommendations for local things to do and see.
The decor is quite dated but was clean and tidy rooms, staff were friendly and a good choice of breakfast with a good view of the square. If you are mechanically minded, then you will love the lift! Not the largest of car parks so may be worth pre booking but great location in middle of town.
We stayed for 3 nights of which one was the last evening of the Preuvenemint event. Our room had a perfect view of the Vrijthof square. This is an advantage and a disadvantage since the rooms are not really good isolated from outside noise. The noise from students taking a meal at 02:00 in the morning at the fastfood restaurant below the hotel kept me from sleeping the first night. Earplugs solved that the following night. So if you like a quiet night book a room at the backside ( but you will have no view). Breakfast is very good and the staff is very friendly. Parking is possible at the hotel and is cheaper than the public parking Vrijthof. All in all we had a very nice stay and we will certainly go back one day.
Location is perfect, you are right in the center of town. The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, even when I stupidly locked myself out of my own safe (!) The breakfast is good and you have a great view while eating if you get a window seat. Rooms maybe a little small, but do you really expect more for price and location? I would recommend to anyone.
This is not the cheapest hotel - but it is comfortable and peaceful - the staff are very helpful, the breakfasts are excellent- and everything else is all around because it is so central.. the lift is just amazing
Central location. Beware - Very expensive parking fees and city tax must be paid on departure. Mad, complicated parking instructions, such that the hotel has to issue printed instructions. Be sure to follow these to the letter! Other than the parking fiasco, the room was comfortable and the staff helpful. Highlight of the hotel for me was the wonderful old fashioned lift.
Position probably the best - downtown :) - parking place ordered and there was a very good service from the hotel according to the parking. Room was fine and there was all we needed. Breakfast was good with view over Vrijhof and there we went to Andre Rieu consert so we were happy with the stay - nice bar close the hotel and restaurants very close. Everything in walking distance.
Brilliant location for exploring Maastricht. Very friendly and helpful staff. My daughter and I were staying for a few days while attending one of Andre Rieu's concerts on the Vrithof. The room on the second floor was larger than we expected and was very clean and the beds very comfortable. This is an Art Deco feel hotel with an unusual lift. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back. Our room faced the back of the hotel which meant that it was very quiet and we weren't affected by any street noise. Although there wasn't a view from the room, we didn't spend a lot of time in it anyway. Breakfast was good value with plenty of choice.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during the Andre Rieu concert. Great location clean rooms bathroom small but compact but ok beds comfy linen nice only Moan is they do not fill up the tea and coffee so had to ring down every morning for someone to bring up apart from that All ok . The guy who booked us on on reception was really nice and friendly and made us feel really welcome. Would I stay again? Probably not as it was rather expensive for what we paid and have stayed in nicer hotels for the money.
