First time at the RIU and and everything was great even the food
Stayed at the Riu Palace Adults Only from April 4-April 9. This was our first time at an Adults Only. Absolutely loved it. The food was great at the Buffett, the bbq area by the pool, the restaurants for dinner. The entire staff was very polite and took care of us very well from the room to the pools and down on the beach. I will definitely be back to this location.

Awesome view, clean, new, confortable. Lots of dining options. We were part of the elite RIU club and when we got to the room a yeti, bag and bottle of don perignon was waiting for us. The mini bar had back lavel, tequila, rum and vodka. Also you can go to the riu tequla and riu palace and enjoy their pools, food and drinks. I will defenity recomend this hotel to friends.and family.
This resort was wonderful! We enjoyed our stay. The food options were plentiful and delicious. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful. We will definitely be returning soon. My only complaint was that the equipment in the gym didn’t work but I probably shouldn’t have been working out during vacation. lol But I did mention how good the food was!
The property is nice however the hallways are very sterile looking and also very loud. The rooms are oddly set up with a tub in the middle. Also you aren’t guaranteed a king bed even if you request one. They don’t rent the regular rooms specifically for king vs two beds. So beware you could arrive with your kids and be assigned a king bed or arrive with your mate and be assigned 2 beds! The food is mediocre at best. We did go to the steakhouse one evening and basically received the same stuff they put on the buffet everyday. Also you’re not able to get a drink other than beer or wine at the speciality restaurant. The location was awesome however. I would definitely recommend going to town to eat if you want a good meal.
BUYER BEWARE! Make sure you read the reviews of this hotel on multiple websites. I read great reviews and was let down. There were many pros and cons. So let's start with the pros: -Great location close (ish) to the marina, Squid Row, and it is on the beach -Beautiful hotel -Staff works hard to keep it clean -The Riu parties are FUN (if you like dayclub type pool parties) Cons: -THE FOOD. The food gave us upset stomachs EVERY night we were there. -THE DRINKS. A lot of reviews said the alcohol was top shelf. It is far from it. Smirnoff for Vodka, Beefeater for Gin, Jose for Tequilla, and Bacardi for Rum. The alcohol is watered down and a TON of sugar added -The cleanliness: the staff does a great job of keep the place picked up and swept. But they did not change the sheets the entire time, we finally requested it on day 4. They sprayed cleaner in the drinking glasses and turned them back over, never replaced them. In fact, they did a lot of spraying cleaner and not actually wiping anything. Last, they re-use the plastic cups from the pool parties. These are meant to be thrown away, but are re-used -VERY rowdy guests, which can be a pro or a con The bottom line is: If you are looking for a typical college type party vibe, this place is for you. Just bring some pepto for the food. If you are over 25 or looking for something a bit nicer, there are plenty of other resorts to choose from within a similar price range. 3/5 stars. It was fine, but I would not come back.
I didnt like the that the staff came into the room at all times of the day. The food was good and some of the staff was nice.
We had the worse experience being in Cabo or the hotel for the first time. The worse experience from the front desk staff at the RIU. I called the hotel supposed to have been partial ocean view with a king bed, Orbitz and American Airlines confirming our reservation a month prior for the simple reason I received an email from a company no longer in business TIU Travel. We get to the hotel they placed us in the dungeon. The room stink like mildew, and we saw the view of the hotel and workers. I spoke to Arturo the hotel reservation manager at the front desk, and he was rude and not nice. He didn't want to listen to my concern that I called and confirmed a month prior. I asked that we be compensated and nothing from either Orbitz or RIU Palace Baja California - Adult all inclusive. WE paid a lot and our friends paid less than that with ocean view. That is BS you don't treat customers rudely. WE WOULD LIKE TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THE WORSE TRIP EVER. THIS WAS OUR CHRISTMAS GIFT THAT WAS A TOTALLY DISASTER. WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICES I EVER DEALT WITH. I DON'T RECOMMEND RIU ESPECIALLY IN CABO. PLEASE COMPENSATED US FOR A TERRIBLE TRIP AND MAINLY WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER.
Staff were helpful and polite. Property was very clean. I enjoyed my stay.
Food quality and selection is not as per standard of a class hotel
Had a horrific experience with the personal of the hotel.
Nice inexpensive getaway and right on the beach. Food was ok. Breakfast Buffet was probably the best. Steak house overcooked Italian and Japanese were bland. Beach Vendors need to not be allowed at the bottom of the stairs leading to the private section of the beach. Give a little space, yes we all like the trinkets but no privacy is a bit much. Spa is double the price than it should be. $500 for a couples massage is nut when you can get a massage on the beach for $50. Would stay here again but would try the restaurants at the sister properties next to it.
