This is in a very nice location, everything was brand new. The rooms are very nice, but yes, don't expect too much privacy with the bathroom layout. Noise can be an issue if you want to go to bed early because of the pool parties next door. The parties DO end at 11pm though! Like other people said, the hallway is very noisy. We got lucky though with one of the few rooms that had an additional door that decreased noise, so it wasn't an issue. Service overall was excellent, Victor at the front desk did a great job. All of the bartenders to servers were great, very helpful and kind. Food was above average -- some items were great, but would even out to 3.5 out of 5 stars. The saddest room is the 24hr snack/lounge area. What would be great is if they added a high end Mexican restaurant. I was a little concerned about the poor reviews, but this was overall a great place to stay.

Everything except the Italian place. That food was bad

Great hotel. Definitely the best of the 3 RIU locations in Cabo.

The resort was so perfect, it was clean the staff was friendly there was no language barrier for those who don’t understand Spanish that well. The food wasn’t good, the pools and the view were amazing. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

Positive side: Very good location with amazing view. Walking distance (from the beach) to small restaurants by the water. Programs at night at Riu California and Santa Fe that you could attend. Has a modern look and furniture Some problem with shower drain, but they fixed it right away. Very very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the coffee/espresso bar Negative side: The pool side was designed nice but the building itself, I think, was very poorly designed for a more recent building. Looks like a Motel rather than a 4 5 stars resort/hotel. The buffet food was ok but plenty of stuff. The dessert quality was below average. The food is better at their sit down restaurants (enjoyed the Taj Mahal and Crystal very much)

The property is maintained and very clean. However, the specialty restaurants are mediocre at best. The buffet dinner is much better.

Amazing property !! Can’t say enough about the staff and location. Every need taken care of !

The restaurants and pool area and activities. Bedroom slippers were missing and bathroom amenities were not replenished on daily basis . Food in all restaurants was excellent

NOT a resort for honeymooners! The resort is new but undergoing growing pains. We have traveled extensively in Mexico always targeting all-inclusive resorts. It was our first trip to Cabo AND our honeymoon and we were looking for something new. The resort just opened a few months ago and is fresh and clean. We brought our marriage certificate hoping for a room upgrade, or perk, or couples massage, or Champaign, or anything?, But got nothing.... We booked a Junior Suite Partial Ocean view. We asked about upgrades and were informed that we can PAY to upgrade to a two twin beds? Really? on a honeymoon? No "congratulations" or Champaign, NOTHING, NO perks. The Resort occupancy was VERY low (Possibly 25% of capacity?) and many of the services, and specialty restaurants were closed every other day. Big venues were 80% empty chairs. Pool bar had limited hours and mixed drinks were always full to brim with ICE. by the time you got them they were partial melted and half water, Pretty disappointing. If you got up and went to get wet... your drink is taken and you wait 10-15 min for a new "melt water mixer", We just gave up and got our own drinks. Restaurants were clean and decent quality but totally lacking in higher end food items. Staff was gracious but weak in English skills. We have been to resorts in Cozumel and Cancun where staff is quite bi-lingual and attentive. If U speak NO Spanish consider a different Venue! Its a hospitality resort with NO Hospitality!

We loved that the property was brand new and everything was shiny and clean! However, the restaurants and food were terrible. The restaurants were never busy, but we were turned away from multiple restaurants and at the steakhouse at 8pm we were told they were “closed” when their sign said they closed at 9:30pm and they had just seated other guests. One of the restaurants was never open our entire stay. The staff at the restaurants were not as friendly as other resorts we have stayed. We will not return to this resort for these reasons.

Food was great, views are awesome, staff was nice, alcohol tasted different but overall I would recommend.

This was my first time in Mexico & being in an all-inclusive resort & it won't be my last!! This hotel is A+! By the end of my stay I felt like family with the staff! The staff were very, very nice! The cleanliness of the hotel was great and the food was good. Being an Adult Only hotel there were no kids and it wasnt very rowdy at all. They had pool parties at the other RIU Sante Fe next door where you could go and really have a great time and party, then take a walk back to the Riu California and relax by the pool. The hotel is about 8 minute drive from Downtown Cabo where are the restaurants, clubs, and shopping is so that was nice. Nonetheless our stay was great and we will be back soon!

We had an amazing time food was amazing and property was clean and staff was always smiling
