I’m a huge fan of Rui Palace. Always have a nice time. I was a little disappointed in the buffet food choices this time. The maid service was a little lacking. Left money on the bed for housekeeping they came in and took the money but didn’t service my room. Bar and restaurant service was great as well.
We have traveled all over the carribean and other countries and this RIU has the worst air conditioning i have ever experienced! Our room stayed damp the entire week i even had to throw my pillow away that i brought from home due to it molding in one week from the humidity in that room! We contacted the front desk and they sent a maintenance man whom said the ac was working properly and would not work any better. Tried to tell us it would cool off after he adjusted the theromstat and to give it 20 mins and i explained to them i had already set it at its lowest 3 hours prior to calling them they wanted to argue with me so i just let it go. I will not be visting this riu again for this reason and others.
Property is nice but the Restaurants were quite below average

The food was horrible. The worst all-inclusive I've ever been to the service was ok. Some were nice, and some were aholes. The front desk people were horrible, how do you have over a hundred dishes and 99 of them are terrible

Front desk staff was rude and restaurant staff was also a bit rude. Buffet was the best part. Upon check in our room did not have electricity, the bathroom was dirty and the ro was in bad shape. We called the front desk and the staff was very rude once we complained like it was an issue for them although we were trying to be polite and understanding. Wouldn’t stay here again. Also, restaurants are mediocre at best and very limited menu.
The restaurant menus need to be revamped. The food and drinks in buffet areas have no flavor. It’s missing flavor and authenticity. My wife and I had to eat out for most of our stay.
