Staff was awesome and attentive! Food was delicious and rooms were very clean. They are taking every precaution necessary to keep their guests healthy and happy!

Great place to stay. One of the original hotels of Cabo. Very authentic. Only and the Only issue is the beds are hard like very hard. Great location and great price. Everyone so nice very clean room and the grounds. The little restaurant has really good food and great prices too.

Great place. Great food and right in the center of town

This is a great property with a friendly staff. a well managed property that is centrally located....

I liked the old-world laid-back relaxed easy-going style & atmosphere & friendly staff.

location is excellent, but a little noisy at night

I first stayed at the Mar de Cortez 25 years ago. Then, as now, this hotel provided excellent bang for the buck. And then, as now, the management provided a pitcher of good-quality filtered water and glasses made of glass (not plastic) for teeth-brushing and drinking. I always stay in what used to be called the "old section" and now is booked as a standard ("estandar") room. These rooms still have some of their old world charm, with the dark solid-wood doors and (faux) beam ceilings and simple bathrooms. The bathrooms are updated, the towels are soft and the hotel provides good quality soap, shampoo and conditioner (though I had to ask for these, because they weren't in the room when I arrived). The wood-frame windows were replaced with modern sliding windows -- a bit of charm lost, but the better to shut out any noise. The shower water was warm but not hot, just as I remember it. I like the little patios outside these rooms, where you can sit and greet other guests, have a drink or just hang out in the balmy Cabo air. The effect of the hotel's having added a second story to the old section is to make it an oasis from the ever-present "fiesta" (read: loud) noise of downtown Cabo San Lucas nights. Literally as you walk in from the street, the noise fades to background as you enter the charming courtyard property, with its huge areca palms along the walkway next to the old section, which I remember being barely taller than I stand when I first stayed at the hotel.

Great pool area, restaurant, and bar. Staff is friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

There was no TV in the room. The beds were not as soft i a would have preferred, but perhaps okay for most people. There was lots of water pressure, and plenty of hot water. The hotel was very conveniently located. I will stay here again when in return to Cabo. There was no refrigerator in the room...

The staff was courteous and genuinely friendly, the hotel food was GREAT, and our room was clean, cool, and comfortable. Would definitely return to Mar de Cortez!

Great staff and price is good for what you get. No TVs-

Friendly staff, nice pool, good happy hours. The location is close to town and the marina.

This is our third visit and we will return. It’s great value for those wanting to stay close to all the action of downtown Cabo. It is however a basic hotel so keep that in mind. Nice small pool area, on site restaurant/bar is good, staff is amazing and security was excellent.

Clean close to shopping how’s the food. Great location nice staff

Friendly helpful staff. Very Clean. Surprisingly comfortable bed. Old old old blankets and Sheets. Horrible food. My breakfast was always cold & the potatoes, tortilla chips and tostadas were stale and old. I ordered ceviche and was grossed out by the fish. Nice low key place, nice staff, but eat elsewhere.

this hotel is in a great location(walking distance to everythin), the pool is inviting, the staff is very customer friendly, it has a bar and restaurant (foods tasty). some rooms have no tv ( great!) and its affordable.

I was really impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the facilities. I was super impressed with how quiet it was at night. Will definitely be staying here again.

The rooms were ok but the food and drinks were very good.
