Overall, you get what you pay for. The staff was always attentive. Johnny at the la carta gave you the best service! And Noe at the bar always made the best drinks! I never had a problem with margaritas nor pina coladas. It’s not top shelf alcohol but it does it’s job! The food at the buffet was not the greatest but you can always find something you like — they always had fresh fruit which was nice. The hotel is a bit far from everything else but close to the airport. (20 minutes) all together, we had a good time here, and the staff made sure to always be helpful!

On the beach and short walk downtown. Ocean view restaurant was amazing

lacated at the end of the strip as described, quiet. the hotel staff were very eager to assit with any questions. Had an answer to make it very comfortable.

I have to what 3 hrs in the lobby for my room No room ready Everyday same food U can’t go inside of water this’s open ocean No show as in all the resorts U have to pay us40 one way to go to another 40ft by 40 ft beach to go inside of water

Had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. They have an adult ( quiet pool) that we loved and Alma at the adult pool bar is wonderful. She has been on staff 36 years! They also put on a nice event on New Years Eve so we didn't leave the grounds! 15-20 min walk into town and no concerns of feeling unsafe.

relaxing and enjoyable staff was friendly and helpful

Beautiful setting. The buffet food can be a bit better. And it can use another resteraunt when it gets busy, you are waiting in line for ever.

The staff are excellent, can't say enough about their treatment of us in order to make our stay wonderful.

hotel needs a refurb, old and worn. great location though

The hotel staff is excellent and very attentive. Most speak English, but not all. No health standards for food temps, even in Cabo at McDs. They can't make change for american money with american money. There is an ATM in the lobby that pays in pesos. The pictures on the website make the hotel look a bit better than it actually is, but it's still decent. The food is pretty decent. WARNING! Millions of flies everywhere!! Industrial fans would make this problem go away!!!! The inside buffet or Cantina (no AC) is better. Ocean view is amazing! However, you aren't allowed to swim in it. 3 beaches closer to Cabo (30 min away) where they do allow it. The pool is fantastic. They have a swim up bar and entertainment director throughout the day. The rooms are fine with pretty good AC. A taxi to/from the airport is $25 each way (or 450 pesos) unless you arrange for transportation beforehand through Orbitz, etc. They have karaoke every night (in Spanish) and a Mexican show/buffet once a week. If you want to rent a car for a day, Dollar is in the lobby. Massages are fantastic! You can talk them down from the usual 2 people/$100. We got ours for $85. All drinks and food are inclusive unless you go into the gift shop. Bacardi, tequila, vodka, Tecate only. The Dolphin Discovery is well worth the money: $438 for Royal pkg for 2 plus a disc of pics; takes place in the marina. The included lunch sucks, though. Food was ice cold. Special mentions: Jesus, Estella, Zenon, Eduardo, Juan Carlos.

Nice vacation. The hotel is a bit dated, however the staff members are excellent. Luis and Noe were awesome. The hotels location is also great. Close to the airport. Close to the beach and we were able to participate in releasing baby sea turtles. The food is actually nice, especially the fish tacos at El Patio Bar. We had them every day for lunch. Our room was decent, it had a slightly poor smell, however we stayed there shortly after a massive rain storm. One of the worst rain storms in recent history. There is also a bar and restaurant next to the beach which was open for dinner service, not a buffet. They served really nice food and something different every night. We would stay here again.

The hotel was nice for the price. Massages are AMAZING & totally worth the money. Food was pretty good. However the lighting in the bathroom was HORRIBLE. It was hard getting ready in a dimly lit bathroom. that is honestly my only complaint. It's no 5 star hotel, but you definitely get more than what you pay for. The hotel is NOT located in Cabo San Lucas. It's about a 20 minute drive from the city, however I actually like this area better than Cabo San Lucas.

We stayed here for 5 nights. We read the mixed reviews and found most of the bad ones to be false. The hotel is very nice and clean. The rooms are fine. Are the elegant like big modern hotels, absolutely not. They are very good and completely adequate. The staff is amazing. They do everything in their power to make you happy . I was amazed how hard they waiters work during meals to accomdodate you needs. Check in was a little slow as there were many people checking in, but not unusual.

We thought we had booked Los Cabos but this hotel is really in San Jose del Cabo, about 25 minutes from Los Cabos. At first we thought oh no we're losers, but actually this area is SO much nicer, prettier, and not trashy like Los Cabos! We had a garden level room with patio. The rooms are nice and spacious. The grounds are very well kept and pretty. The only disappointment was that you can't swim in the ocean, it is a little rough and slightly cold. Thus the fantastic pools. Staff was great and most of the food excellent.

The food variety is small but the quality of the food is good. No nightclub on resort and/or nightly shows besides karaoke and certain shows performed by staff outside of the resort. Unable to swim in the ocean due to the waves and steep current.

As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. This is an inexpensive, second tier resort. The high ratings for this hotel need to be taken with a large does of salt. I have stayed at Ziva, Barcelo and now Holiday Inn. The food and facilities at Holiday Inn are well below that at Ziva and even below Barcelo. We actually walked into San Jose on night three rather then face another round of tasteless fried whatever for dinner. Staff was friendly and the rooms are clean, but bathroom was maybe 6 feet and 5 feet with no light above the sink? I came for fishing, so my requirements for facilities are pretty low, but these were disappointing.

I enjoyed our stay at this hotel except we were not able to swim. Very strong and high waves. Unable to do water activities or swim in ocean.

Everything was what you could expect other than the thermostat didn't adjust. It was either on or off. I didn't need it as the weather was cool. The only item i really would suggest is to make it clear this location you can not swim in the ocean the waves are to large and there are bad undercurrents.

Food is excellent - bars at every pool - easy to get around- staff is wonderful... The surf is undertow dangerous so no swimming in the ocean. But the ocean water is at least 50-100 yards from the resort - so we rarely would go there except for long walks.... That distance also keeps the "white pants" jewelry vendors far away from the resort which I liked.

Even though it's cheaper than other hotels, you will end up concluding it was better to spend several hundred more to get better quality and variety of food, activities that can make your stay more interesting and drinks that you can enjoy. They make pina colada so sweet I can use it for cake topping. You can survive for 3-4 days but after that you start counting days pretty much
