A trouble-free experience in every respect. I’ll be back.
I stayed at this hotel last night and it was terrible. They gave us the worst room. My bf doesn’t like to complain!! But we saw 5 cockroaches and the fridge didn’t work that good. We paid over $100 but it wasn’t worth it. It’s very disappointing
Clean facility and prompt response from staff. Really enjoyed the stay.
Hotel was fine. Fitness Center equipment needs updating.
Good beds and an improved breakfast. Perfect stay before heading to Yosemite.
The staff at this hotel is very kind. However, the hotel itself is looking pretty rough. The tiles are cracked and dirty, the elevators are in pretty poor condition, damaged buttons and broken buttons. Breakfast was good and parking was easy. I was locked out of my room 6 times, seemed to be a battery issue with the card reader in the door.
Late check in was easy. The room was very comfortable.
We stayed at The HIE for a quick overnight trip on arriviring on Thanksgiving Day. We were greeted with a smile and a very efficient check in. Our room was upgraded to a suite, but my mother in laws room was not quite ready. I didn’t even request rooms close to one another, but the front desk were on top of their game and had already made the arrangements. Nice touch. Our room was spacious and comfortable, but when we sat on the couch, we noticed a pair of balled up dirty socks under the table. Pretty darn gross. Also, we were only left half a roll of toilet paper. It just felt like the room was unclean. We were exhausted from our drive and went to bed early, but neither my husband nor I could sleeep Bc of the trains that were blowing their horns all night and the noises coming from the fridge. One of the worst night sleeps I’ve had at a hotel. I usually travel with ear plugs, but forgot them this time and we paid the price. Fast forward to breakfast... the breakfast room was packed and there was no seating. We went to grab a cinnamon roll, but there were none left. When they were refilled, they were replaced by cold rolls that were gross. We found a available chair in the lobby where my elderly mother in law could sit, but a man had his phone turned way up while he watched videos. All in all It wasn’t a great stay, but the hotel is one of the nicer hotels in Merced. Our check in was the best part of our stay.
Easy check-in and check-out. Quiet. Good breakfast offerings. Had to google for restaurant recommendations but local sandwich shop / bakery we found was excellent for dinner.
Always a great stay at this Merced Holiday Inn, super clean and very comfortable beds, complementary breakfast is good, it's the only place we stay every time we visit Merced. Worth every penny.
We were able to reserve a mini-suite with a King size bed for a very reasonable price---quite a bit less than the Hamton next door. Room was very good overall with just 2 small annoyances. THe pillows on the bed were too soft and the bathroom door and the front door interfered with each other. THe breakfast was outstanding as usual--cheese omelettes and their awesome cinnamon rolls. WE'll definitely come back to this location.
The rooms were very clean and the hotel staff were super friendly. The beds weren't as comfortable as I had hoped, but they weren't bad. My only real disappointment was that I was reading at one of the poolside tables at night and got kicked out at 10:00 even though I wasn't swimming. They didn't have another place for me to sit and relax outside and were unwilling to let me stay at the table in the pool area. Other than that though, we really enjoyed our stay.
Check in was fast and friendly. Would stay again. Room was nice bed comfortable
We've stayed at this particular HI Express around 6 times now and believe it's the best overall hotel in Merced. This wasn't our best stay since we had some noisy neighbors this time, however, the room, amenities, and the rest of the hotel continue to be first rate. I'll probably request a first floor room next time--we've had good experience with them thus far.
This was our second stay at this particular HI Express. The room was big and comfortable with everything you'd want for a short stay. We love their breakfast. In addition to their famous cinnamon rolls, they had sausage AND turkey sausage and ham along with both scrambled eggs and Denver Omelettes. The breakfast area is huge and great for just hanging out. You're only about 5 minutes away from Downtown which has quite a few good restaurants and a couple of theaters. If you're staying in Merced, stay here!
After a day trip to Yosemite we found this hotel a 1 hour from the gate. It was very comfortable to stay there.
Excellent location, near the freeway and Starbucks! My expectations were met, only complaint is the door near my room slams shut and created loud noise at all hours of the day/night.
Needed a quick place to say for a work trip. This did the job. Nice room, and bfast was great (Free)
