Best front desk staff in California. Always there, friendly and helpful

Check-in was a breeze. There is plenty of parking. The hotel appears to be newer construction.

Stayed here to visit yosemite. Hotel was good, clean, comfortable and staff was friendly. Yosemite valley is still 2 hour drive from here, so that was the bad part, but this was as good as it can get for my last minute booking. Location was good, good diverse set of restaurants nearby. quite town. overall definitely good experience.

Merced is awesome. I work there multiple times throughout the year... But most of its hotels are dumps. The Marriott is where I want to stay when I am in Merced. It would be nice if there was something near it though.

This was a nice hotel, clean and pretty much cimfortable, but there were no free breakfast, the walls are very thin and I know this is small, but no bottled water or tea ( not a coffee drinker) in the room. Generally, it's nice.

This is the only hotel in the area that is nice. I have been traveling to this area for many years and started to go to this hotel when it first opened. They need to work on keeping it nice. Things like changing light bulbs and making sure the shampoo is restocked. The small things. Also the last two times I stayed I had to get my key card reactivated on the second day. This is annoying when coming in late to the room and the having to go back down to the lobby. Otherwise not a bad place to stay compared to all other hotels.

Stayed here for one night prior to Yosemite, great access to the 140, and about 1 hr 45 minutes to yosemite. Tip... fill up your gas at merced, it gets progressively expensive. Great hotel for a quick layover!

In the hamlet of Merced the Courtyard by Marriott was like home away from home. The predictability of the quality and cleanliness of the lodging was just what I needed after a long day hiking at Yosemite. Spectacular, no. Marriott, yes. After all, I was in Merced.

Very bad location, not a restaurant more like a sandwich shop, and not very good, food was not good . Over priced, more like a new super 8. Air condition noise exceeded 75 db. Maybe all the Court Yards have slipped, I will not stay at any of their chain again!

The room is clean. Stuff is nice. It is a nice place to stay if you are going to Yosemite national park.

We were driving in to Yosemite from Monterey and wanted a place to crash at night. The place is good value for money. Has a pool and an exercise room. Trip to yosemite took like an hour and a half and we had plenty of time to explore during the day and come back and crash here at night.

Stayed here with family on the way to Yosemite from San Francisco. Nice hotel with clean room and friendly staff. Good place to stay on the way to the park. No breakfast included with the room lessens the value.

The room was very clean and provided all the amenities needed for business stay. Internet connections could be upgraded, was slow. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Hotel very nice easy to find , friendly staff however neighborhood not that great . A bit of a surprise that with so many hotels there they would tolerate much trash in street. Good location for Yosemite .Excellent restaurant nearby 'Branding Iron" would recommend to friends etc.

The hotel lobby is really snazzy but the rooms are just average. I was worried that the area around the hotel might be ghetto, but it was totally safe. Maybe that's what the $100 dollar price tag is for?

We were attending the Tahitian competition. The hotel was clean and the people were great.

We were there visiting my family for Thanksgiving. We always stay at the Courtyard when we're in Merced. Its new, clean and modern. It serves breakfast and best of all the kids love the in-door heated pool.

Very nice, new hotel. May be the best value in Merced. Great facilities, nice staff, and very nice rooms. About perfect. The only disappointment was limited Internet bandwidth. Fine for email and web surfing, but streaming a Netflix movie was difficult and led to pauses for more buffering. All in all though a terrific place to stay if money is not your prime focus. Very good buffet breakfast for around $10.

Nicest hotel in Merced, but I can't understand for the life of me why they would have chosen this location. The neighborhood is simply NOT safe (a Merced police officer was killed near there a few years ago) and the hotel overlooks several "roach motels" on Motel Drive. The hotel itself is very fresh and clean and the employees were very friendly and helpful, with only one exception. That was the employee who checked me out not being knoweledgable about a Marriott summer rebate promotion (Visa gift cards) that had been advertised when I booked the room.

I have to say that I read other reviews of the hotels in Merced, CA and I was not expecting much in terms of service or quality in my hotel stay. The Courtyard by Marriott (Merced) changed my views. This hotel was 3 years old/new at the time of my visit (March 2010) and was clean, clean, clean. The room was a good size and I thought the staff was cheerful and helpful. While I was there, the hotel had many guests in town for a Polynesian Hula Festival and some of the guests made quite a bit of noise in the halls; I was surprised that the noise traveled into my room at night. A couple of other negative issues include the elevator; which was small and slow (most times I ended up using the stairs as I was on the 2nd floor) and the breakfast buffet; which wasn't well staffed (1 employee doing his best to keep food stocked, bus tables, and ring up guests -- which ended up leaving some of the food cold or not available and many of the dining tables where covered with previous guest's finished meals). All in all, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the stay, even in light of my listed negatives. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
