Room service wasn’t very attentive or responsive in the same way you’d get at a chain hotel. Shower head had an issue and sprayed water out of multiple places, cold water would sometimes go out and the water would be scalding hot. A bedside alarm clock with two outlet ports is provided, but neither port worked and so I had to charge my phone across the room. I had a 6 night stay so I was grateful to have a refrigerator and microwave for my different meals, but the inconveniences were a little hard to ignore enough to pretend it was a high rated stay.

This was an odd option from the get-go. But, the big hotels were easily 2x the cost and I figured i would give it a try. Company is VERY communicative via email....but they have to be because there is no on-site service people that I ever saw. Its an old place, so I figured 'charming'. Outside, yes. Inside, not so much. Had two rooms and both smelled awful. Like old basement. You could not get it away, even with windows open and air running. "Premium Bedding", was an over statement. If you like old/quaint and need a low cost place, this is it. Neighborhood was fine. NOT close to convention hall. Had to ride a scooter every time or take Uber. My employees room was so bad, I booked his last three days at another hotel. Obviously didnt ask for a refund for an unused room, because the refund policy was clearly stated. Lesson learned.

My wife and I stayed in the penthouse suite on the top floor. First floor same building had a bar in it. When the bar closed you heard what sounded like over a hundred people yelling cursing and there was a few fights. On Halloween a young man pulled a knife on someone then he got knocked out unconscious in the street. His friend tried to get the knife and he was picked up and body slammed in the middle of Broadway and Linden Ave. Little scuffles broke out simultaneously and after 30 minutes or so, the police finally arrived. As the crowd dispersed after being threatened and pepper sprayed by LBPD the property damage which was mainly suffered by the cars parked on the street and two of the people involved being taken by ambulance and zero arrests made. This all could of been tolerated since we didn’t have to wake up early during our stay so 3 out of the 5 nights we were awakened around 12am-1am then back to sleep around 4-6am. I am physically handicapped and there is no elevator being on the top floor we had no assistance with luggage on arrival. Upon departure we paid for late check out which allowed us to stay until 2pm and the manager made sure we were ready to check out at exactly 2pm. Seeing how much luggage we had in the hallway and me being disabled, I tipped him twenty just to help with 1 piece of rolling luggage. He said he would be back, we never saw him again. While putting luggage in our car my wife put a tote bag in the laundry room it was stolen.

I didn't like the the text only communication. The no person contact, when i had questions. All the codes to get in the place. Then there was climbing stairs with all my Luggage. They had one man that showed up to help, cause i text for help. The room was soooo out dated, the smell of moth balls. Allthe noise from the street. It just wasn't, what i was use too. The bed was like a Rock i got really no sleep the 2 days. I would have canceled, but it was such a hassle to deal by text. AGAIN IT WASN'T FOR ME. THANKS

There are several things to like and several things to hate about this hotel. The location and ambience are wonderful but you should be forewarned about the property. It is four stories with no elevator. The wood floors throughout can be a bit noisy with wheeled luggage banging up and down the stairs. Two of the four restaurants are permanently closed which is not reflected on the description. Only the Thai restaurant and bar downstairs are open. Wonderful market right across the street to buy groceries and food. The description also indicates a twin futon in our Deluxe Bedroom Suite. Make no mistake it’s just a couch not a futon. Our main concern for fellow travelers was the bathroom. I’m 5ft and if I sit on the toilet in the closet sized bathroom my knees hit the door. A gentleman over 6ft would have to keep the door open and there is no bedroom door. No free water bottles were offered per listing. We arrived to find strange blue ice cubes in our freezer which we quickly disposed of. Could not get the oven to work. An internal fan ran in the middle of the building all hours and with all the wood floors the rooms are not sound proof. It’s a quirky vintage hotel with a lot of character my biggest complaint was banking on things that were listed and not available.

We arrived early for a festival so I requested a parking spot in the lot. When we entered, there was a car parked in the number that was assigned to us. I didn’t realize our parking assignment wasn’t supposed to start at 4pm check-in or I would have paid for a different lot. We were told to talk to the “office manager” in room 100. There is NO way that lady was the office manager. She was so rude and dismissive when we asked her about the parking. She said “take it up with pa

The parking was a little tricky at the beginning but it was handled quickly and graciously. The room was great. I wasn't aware there was no elevator so after a few rounds of three flights of stairs my legs were shaking but I got my steps in! Check in was so simple and easy, I loved it! Quiet and comfortable. We will definitely be coming back!

We have the same complaint as others, we drove 4 hours after a last minute booking to find we required additional check in (outside the app), a deposit and costly parking reservation to receive the codes at a contact-less hotel. The email arrived as we pulled into the location. There is no one physical to talk to even by phone - to help expedite this, so we did our online check in, paid the deposit - somehow linked to my bank - which I did not like and paid for parking but had to wait another 2 hours for the parking code. Kinda sucked sitting in my car at some parking lot down the street after such a drive trying to resolve. Never had this issue before.
