Booked this for 3 nights in a nonsmoking room. We get there and the room reeks of smoke. Front desk staff came up and refused to admit that and said we could try to turn on the AC or spray something to get rid of the smell. When we told him this would not work due to a medical condition he said he couldn't do anything else because they were booked full and had no extra rooms. We canceled our reservation and went to stay elsewhere but they refuse to refund our money. I would understand keeping the money for the first night they lost business but for their failures, I'm loosing out on my money. This is absurd. Go elsewhere, where they will care about you and you'll have a much nicer stay.
Nice little hotel just outside of Downtown LA which was within walking distance or a short couple of stop bus ride. Rooms were tidy and clean, although a/c is very noisy. Bed was very comfortable for my needs. Reasonable price and staff are pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is small but seems to cater for everyone. Nice little pool to take a swim in and sit around after a day of sightseeing. As a budget hotel I would recommend and use again.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!! We accidentally made a reservation online on 7/10 for a room on 8/13 when we intended for it to be on 7/13. We stayed the night on 7/13, but were charged for both nights. We called numerous times and spoke to at least 3 different staff (Eddie, Mohammad, & Omar) who kept giving us the run around when Eddie finally agreed to give a refund for 8/13 with a $50 penalty. Instead of following through, they charge us yet again for a full night - meaning they have TRIPLE CHARGED us for a ONE NIGHT STAY. I PAID A TOTAL OF $495.82 FOR ONE NIGHT!!!!!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THIEVERY!!!
This is our second year staying here for AX. The hotel is clean and Omar at the front desk rocks! We had no issues with parking, and you can't beat the free breakfast and WIFI. We will be booking again for 2018.
This hotel was infested with bedbugs! The incident in early April was horrible. Wife and daughter were bitten as soon as they climbed into bed - 10:45 at night. Reception told me there was nothing that could be done that night as all rooms were occupied. Told employee to cancel the remainder of my reservation and was told that I would be charged for this evening. Bedbugs were brought in with someone's luggage and nothing could be done about them. We hurriedly packed and moved to another, more expensive hotel.
Although the people were very friendly, this place just does not have quality going for it. The room was fine, third floor, reasonably comfortable. Didn't expect much. Breakfast is minimal, with a waffle machine, bagels, yogurt, cereals. Mostly I went out for breakfast. But the real problem is that the bedding was not changed after the last guest(s) moved out. It was warm during the day and at night, so I removed the comforter. What a mistake! On top of the top sheet was a thin yellow blanket which would have been perfect, had it not been for the fact that it was covered in long black hair from a previous guest. Gross! And similar hair was found in the shower. This is completely unacceptable. ALL bedding needs to be changed when a guest moves out. Always. The area is rundown but I didn't feel unsafe. And it's right on the edge of Koreatown, where you can find some really interesting food. However, based on the lack of cleanliness, I recommend finding another place to stay.
Stayed here on my first visit to Los Angeles back in 2010. The price was excellent! Room was also comfortable and very hygienic. Coffee facilities were basic, but I really didn't need to drink coffee here. The wi-fi was good and I had no problems. There was an in-room safe which was also good. Distance was about 25 min walk to downtown and Staples Center. There were quite a few restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. Overall it was situated in a latino neighbourhood (almost like Little Tijuana) so there's not a lot of glitz and glamor. Nevertheless it's still a good inn and I would gladly stay here the next time I'm in LA.
Stayed 2 nights in mid-November in a room quite close to the breakfast room area. Room was quiet enough for a city first floor location but a light sleeper might not have been OK with the street noise. Nice enough room, beds, and bathroom. Breakfast included a Belgian waffle maker, so that was appreciated.
My wife and I enjoyed the room. Yes, a simple motel but the room was very clean, great bed and was close to where we needed to go. We will stay there again in Sept. 2017. Free breakfast is decent. Can't beat the price considering the location.
Location was OK, about 15-20 minutes walking distance to downtown. Bus stop just nearby if you don't want to walk, but metro station around 700 m. Easy to find food as there are lot of small restaurants and fast food. Room and bathroom were quiet, spacious, clean and spotless. AC, microwave and fridge were worked well. Bed was big, clean and comfortable Continental Breakfast was ok and good enough for start the day. Staffs were polite and helpfull.
