Not All Star !!! The first impression is of an old old motor court. To Check in, you start outside and ring a bell at the window, and a clerk will take you info and hand you a key. There is no access to the office. Makes you wonder about crime in the area, but I did not see any. There are no elevators, so ask for a first floor or you will drag your bags up the concrete stars. There is also NO ICE available. The only concession is a soda machine. The room was clean, with window a/c, which worked. The mattress on the bed was very good, clean and comfortable. although the inside is clean, it is very apparent that it is old and needs some major maintenance and upgrading. It is ok for a night stay before the cruise form pier 92 or 93. The taxi from the hotel to the pier was $10 including a tip. The clerk called a taxi for us and it was there withing a few minutes There is a cafe (San Pedro Cafe) close by, buy I do not recommend it. Food there, while passable, was over priced and lacked flavor. The variety is not what I am used to for a diner. My bill with tip came to $46.90 for a coke, chips+salsa, Linguine Alfredo, and beef enchiladas Tres Amigos. Their menu says the add 3.5% to the bill if you pay by credit card, but they didn't in my case. Also close by is a super market that is fairly priced (Numero Uno Market)
The hotel and area looked a little shabby from the outside. The young man at the desk showed us the room since I mentioned this. This is a budget hotel, but the room had been recently remodeled (not all of them have been so check first). It was perfectly good with a flat screen TV, internet, a refrigerator and coffee maker. A great shower. Across the street was a fabulous Italian restaurant. All in all, not a bad stay for one night.
This is just a 1 star property and we were a bit worried but chose it as it was cheap and close to cruise terminal. We were pleasantly surprised big clean rooms friendly check in very quiet at night.Only negative was that the room had a strange musty smell but that went away when we were in it a while.Nice Italian restaurant opposite and another nice restaurant the San Pedro Cafe about 3 minutes walk to right. Get Lyft taxi to cruise terminal practically free using the All Star Inn promotion code .
great little hotel in downtown san pedro, friendly staff , nice rooms, great price! the hotel is a older ,like motel lodge hotel, but it has nice updated rooms. great location near cruise port, uss iowa, and other great tourist things to do. lots of restaraunts near by and drug stores. nice beds, flat screen t.v. with good cable t.v., wifi works great, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. NO this is not a hilton or a hyatt, it's a nice family hotel for a goid night sleep.
Used for one night stop over, seemed ideal as local to Port. No lift, although after asking were helpful and carried cases up to room. Room smelt - not sure of what but left door open and sprayed some doedorant. Decor is very dark and dated - Morris need a clean, bathroom needs complete overhaul, bed comfy but no duvet cover which has hygiene issues. Replace the battery in the clock or take it down. No choice of condiments - no milk, teabags, fridge not on ! Towels very small and thin. Lighting not sufficient. Unable to open curtains to let light in after shower due to privacy issues - blinds or net curtains would be good. I had booked for return trip but decided to cancel the booking and find somewhere else. With a little bit of love, professional input, and light colours the rooms could be amazing as they are large. I sincerely hope the owners read and take on board the constructive criticisms. I genuinely feel bad for leaving a bad review but didn’t really have a choice. Photos say it all really - I definitely won’t be coming back
Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is super friendly. Neighborhood is just fine, nothing extraordinary, plenty or places to eat in the nearby, also just a few blocks away the main tourist attractions.
Reasonable priced, do not let exterior fool you, rooms were very clean and had basic amneneties as well as fridge and microwave. Great choice for a comfortable nights sleep. Close to all events at harbor and staff was very accommodating.
The All Star Inn is an older, no frills, renovated motel. It's located in a business area of San Pedro not too far from the World Cruise Center where Princess Cruises sails out of (why I've used it twice!) If you are looking for a clean, safe, economical motel to spend the night before leaving on a cruise, look no further, this is the place! If you are looking for a place that offers room service, a pool, spa, work-out room, etc., then keep looking. I have used the All Star Inn twice prior to cruising. One of the main reasons I used it is that they offer parking for your vehicle while you are on your cruise for a cheaper price than other motels/hotels, and definitely much cheaper than parking at the cruise terminal! When I first arrived it was a little before check in time, but Sam, the owner's son, happily set me, and my elderly mother, up with our room. We had requested a particular room prior to arriving and we were thrilled to find out that they had saved it for us! My mother uses a walker and needed a first floor room which was no problem and we were able to park right in front of the room also. The next morning I went to the window (no lobby here) to check out, I spoke to one of the owner's, Pasmina, to tell her how nice her son Sam had been when he checked us in. We spoke for a few minutes and I let her know I was getting ready to drop my mother at the cruise terminal and then bring the car back to park it for the duration of our cruise and walk back to the cruise terminal (This is what my husband and I did on a previous cruise when we stayed here.) Its not too far of a walk and it's down hill. Pasmina told me that I did not have to walk "all the way back there" that her husband would take me and drop me off. I couldn't believe how nice both Pasmina and her husband, Raju, were to do this for me!! I told her I could walk it, that I had previously done it, but she insisted. Raju took me in his car and dropped me off right in front of the terminal. It was an unexpected surprise and I was grateful for it! Anyway, if you're looking for a clean, Mom & Pop type motel to spend a night or two - this is your place! I highly recommend it!!
Hotel room was clean, have microwave and fridge. Comfortable bed, no breakfast, free parking facility. No lifts.Overall decent stay and served my purpose, nice location, near by many restaurants. You can hear the noise from other rooms.
The Manager Sam could not have been nicer or more helpful whenever I needed something. The area is not the nicest but as a single female traveler I felt safe at the motel. Parking was conventionally near the room and at night the parking lot is very well lighted. The rooms you can't really ask for more especially for the price. My room had a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, iron, hairdryer, Hd Tv, and Wifi. Not to mention the Air Conditions worked wonders. The Star rating for this motel is 1 on booking.com but the room and service is better or on par with most 3 star hotel I've stayed at. Defiantly will be back.
