Conveniently located Lovely atmosphere Clean & friendly

Having stayed here 6 weeks ago I was looking forward to returning, but was disappointed. On the good side, the facility is new and is nicely decorated and generally well constructed. Beds are firm yet comfortable and the housekeeping staff do a good job on the rooms and keep the grounds clean. Just after they clean the room smells fresh and lemony, however soon enough the fragrance of sewer gas infuses the room. Not enough to drive one out, but not a smell I'd choose. My guess is that p-traps weren't installed in the showers and the gasses come up through the drain. The fact that there is a drain cover in the shower leads me to suspect that they are aware of the problem. Secondly, I was there two nights and, despite my pointing out that the picture on the tv was barely recognizable three times and asking someone to address the issue nothing was done. The tv finally started working the morning I left. Lastly, yes they have two hot tubs, and they are quality units, though the one that was there when I last visited was full of yellow/greenish water and a chemical smell. I was told when mentioning it to the front desk that it had been cleaned that morning. I suspect that servicing the hot tub means adding more chemical to the existing water. Others nearby commented on my bravery/stupidity for getting in the tub. I showered afterward, the water of which barely made it out of the shower head. Others have commented on the noisy street and the loudspeakers. That's true

A well-ordered small hotel. Great restaurant and coffee bar. If the neighbors are noisy, you hear it. Town gets the music going at 6am. But its a lovely place and I enjoyed staying. It does require you to climb stairs for one storey.
