Property was in a perfect location for tourists. Owner was on site, and as the rest of the staff, extremely helpful and courteous.

The property was very close to public transportation including bus and train stations. Easily a 10 minute walk and the complimentary breakfast was also very good.

Of all the hotels and B&B's where I've stayed in London, The Windemere was by far the most cozy and comfortable. While it's not a luxury hotel, all their attention to detail and comfort made this a great choice. The location, in Pimlico, offers easy access to the Tube and other public transportation and is still a quiet, safe neighborhood, excellent for walking and exploring. Our air-conditioned room was welcomed as it was 90+ degrees for our entire stay in London. The bed and furnishings were extremely comfortable, bath and shower were great and the included breakfast at the hotel's downstairs restaurant featured both a buffet and a fully cooked, hot breakfast-delicious. Staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Without a doubt, I would stay here again!

bathroom tiny / shower only a one foot opening from the glass slider; unable to use unless you're a pygmy; toilet crunched in the corner also makes it next to impossible to sit down and use; rooms are tiny w/ no amenities

Liked location. Nice and quiet. Staff was extremely helpful.

Great food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only negative is that the family room for three was tiny. The bathroom was extremely small also. Very clean.

The Windermere Hotel was terrific. Location was perfect, on a safe quiet street near Victoria Station. The owners were helpful and wonderful people. The Breakfast was excellent, and breakfast lady Glowsia made each morning great! I would definitely stay here again, so much better than a chain hotel. Dr. Z

Excellent location, 5 minute walk to tour buses, tube station, many other restaurants a few minutes away. Quiet street, This is a small Hotel(18-19 rooms), restaurant for breakfast and Dinner in the downstairs, Food was excellent. We did not want a corporate Vibe or feel and we were very happy, Owners are on site and were very helpful . Room was very nice, Excellent Value for where it is and what we received.

Nice Hotel. Close to many sights and underground.

We stayed for 4 nights with our grand daughter a week ago. The staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. We had a lower level room which was okay but was a little small for 3 people. Location was excellent, near the train, bus, and tube stations.

Second time we have stayed at the Windermere. Hope to come back for a third.

Fantastic breakfast. Friendly staff. Quiet. Clean room, made up every day. But the room and the bathroom were small compared to US standards.

This hotel is well maintained and the staff could not be more pleasant, welcoming, and accommodating. It is in a fairly quiet location but still within walking distance of a number of sites. The room (#31) was small, as is the norm, but this was more than made up for by the staff. We look forward to visiting this hotel again.

The hotel was sufficient for a short stay, but the singles were pretty small. The staff were great!! Breakfast was ok. The location is fine. Thanks, Eric

This was our first visit to London. We were at the hotel for eight nights and were very pleased with our stay there. The location was great! Victoria Station was a short walk and other attractions were close by as well. The staff was very helpful with directions and offered advice on what to see. Breakfasts were very good. One day we needed to catch an early train to Liverpool and they were even able to provide us with a breakfast at 5:30 AM! We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Staff and owners very helpful to us as 1st time visitors to London. Very good breakfasts. Very clean. Only downside was our 1st floor room on the street. Some street noise and passersby were right outside our window

Awesome stay. Staff are helpful. Breakfast was filling. Would definitely stay again

Short walking distance from Victoria station which is its main and probably only advantage. Very small hotel with tiny claustrophobic rooms in an ancient building. Rooms are mostly below ground level and damp, and although hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, there is no sound proofing and the noise from other rooms, constant hustle and bustle, pounding on wooden ceiling and corridors of footsteps from people walking around is unbearable. I could even hear the person in the next room when turning in bed. The street seems to have many similar hotels. Did not have chance to go for breakfast.

For our first visit to London, the Windermere was ideal. It's located in a quiet, scenic residential neighborhood, but only a couple blocks from pubs, restaurants, and shops. Only a five minute walk to Victoria Station for trains, busses, and the London Underground. If you're looking for a hotel in the heart of the nightlife districts, this isn't it. However, if you want a nice place to relax after a hard day of touristing, this is it. A charming hotel combined from two older buildings leads to a quirky floor plan, and no two rooms are alike. The Hambi family and their staff are gracious, helpful to tourists, and very friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We were there for some unseasonably hot weather, and the air conditioning was appreciated! Breakfast in the Brasserie was tasty, with plenty of food. Dinner was good as well. Overall, an outstanding experience with a friendly, welcoming family. We'd definitely stay again at the Windermere.

Very friendly staff. Hotel is well located to walk to lots of attractions (Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Victoria & Albert). Tube is about 6 blocks away if you don't want to walk.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to receive your comments. The Windermere is a small, family run, boutique hotel. We are not a “purpose built” hotel. The Windermere is a classical Victorian building (c.1857), located in a Conservation Area. Each room is individually designed, and we have a variety of room categories (room size & style, bed type, bathroom type etc.) available. London hotel rooms are small compared to most North American standards, but we maximise the available space and offer a range of luxury, complimentary, amenities, with the aim of providing our guests with the most comfortable stay possible. The average room sizes are accurately published online. We encourage our guests to notify us of any special requirements or concerns they may have pre-arrival, in order to give us the best chance of accommodating them as best possible. It is our sincerest wish that we may accommodate you on another occasion, in a room category that better suits your requirements, so that you may experience our hospitality.
