Fantastic breakfast. Friendly staff. Quiet. Clean room, made up every day. But the room and the bathroom were small compared to US standards.

This hotel is well maintained and the staff could not be more pleasant, welcoming, and accommodating. It is in a fairly quiet location but still within walking distance of a number of sites. The room (#31) was small, as is the norm, but this was more than made up for by the staff. We look forward to visiting this hotel again.

The hotel was sufficient for a short stay, but the singles were pretty small. The staff were great!! Breakfast was ok. The location is fine. Thanks, Eric

This was our first visit to London. We were at the hotel for eight nights and were very pleased with our stay there. The location was great! Victoria Station was a short walk and other attractions were close by as well. The staff was very helpful with directions and offered advice on what to see. Breakfasts were very good. One day we needed to catch an early train to Liverpool and they were even able to provide us with a breakfast at 5:30 AM! We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Staff and owners very helpful to us as 1st time visitors to London. Very good breakfasts. Very clean. Only downside was our 1st floor room on the street. Some street noise and passersby were right outside our window

Awesome stay. Staff are helpful. Breakfast was filling. Would definitely stay again

Short walking distance from Victoria station which is its main and probably only advantage. Very small hotel with tiny claustrophobic rooms in an ancient building. Rooms are mostly below ground level and damp, and although hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, there is no sound proofing and the noise from other rooms, constant hustle and bustle, pounding on wooden ceiling and corridors of footsteps from people walking around is unbearable. I could even hear the person in the next room when turning in bed. The street seems to have many similar hotels. Did not have chance to go for breakfast.

For our first visit to London, the Windermere was ideal. It's located in a quiet, scenic residential neighborhood, but only a couple blocks from pubs, restaurants, and shops. Only a five minute walk to Victoria Station for trains, busses, and the London Underground. If you're looking for a hotel in the heart of the nightlife districts, this isn't it. However, if you want a nice place to relax after a hard day of touristing, this is it. A charming hotel combined from two older buildings leads to a quirky floor plan, and no two rooms are alike. The Hambi family and their staff are gracious, helpful to tourists, and very friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We were there for some unseasonably hot weather, and the air conditioning was appreciated! Breakfast in the Brasserie was tasty, with plenty of food. Dinner was good as well. Overall, an outstanding experience with a friendly, welcoming family. We'd definitely stay again at the Windermere.

Very friendly staff. Hotel is well located to walk to lots of attractions (Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Victoria & Albert). Tube is about 6 blocks away if you don't want to walk.

Staff simply wonderful efficient informed and more than helpful. Room exceeded expectations. We will be back

Friendly helpful staff with good tips on how to get around. Hotel in good location near transportation, yet quiet. I have stayed there several times and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in London.

The Windermere is an attractive fully modernized London boutique hotel within about a seven minute walk from Victoria Station. The London transit system has to be the best in the world and if you buy an Oyster Pass upon arrival at the airport you can avoid high taxi fares for the most part. The staff are pleasant and helpful, the room extremely comfortable and quiet and the breakfast all that one would expect of a full English breakfast. The price is rather steep but so is the price of everything else in London these days!.

What wonderful staff, gloriously comfortable rooms, expansive bathrooms, great breakfast. Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. WIsh I could come back tomorrow, it was that good!

We had a great stay at the Windemere! We arrived at 10am despite check-in time not being until 2pm. The staff let us keep our luggage at the hotel and recommended that we go to the changing of the guard as it was happening that day. The staff helped us navigate the tube stations and gave helpful reviews for local attractions. The location is AWESOME!!!! Just a 5 minute walk to Victoria Station which is the hub of everything in London. We had a 9 month old with us and staff was very accommodating for him. GREAT STAY!!! Will certainly go back!

The staff was extra helpful. We needed a place to store our luggage before arriving and they accomodated us for free! And then our luggage was already in our room when we arrived! The room was on the top floor with beautiful views of the area. Beds were extra comfy, the room was immaculate. The extra touches with the bottle of water, tea, hot chocolate and coffee were perfect! Free wifi enabled us to communicate with family back home! Breakfast on the lower floor was delish. We weren't made aware on our first morning that we could order a hot breakfast, but the continental buffet was enough to keep us satisfied. The second morning we ordered from the menu and it arrived deliciously hot! Not much to choose from on the hot menu, but it was still great! I cannot say enough nice things about this hotel...Wish we had stayed here our whole time in London! The only drawback was the extra distance to walk to the bus stop/tube stations. Hotel seemed to be located in between two stations (at least that's what we found) Although we needed to walk off all the delicious food!!

We enjoyed our stay very much and appreciated that our room was warm and cozy during an unusual cold snap (snow, ice, temperatures around 0 degrees C0. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the included breakfast was very good, and we were able to get around London easily from there--to the V&A, the Saatchi gallery, Westminster Abbey, etc--while not being in a big hotel in the middle of the tourist spots, which we prefer to avoid.

I traveled to the London to visit with a client who I get to via Victoria Station. So, I wanted a hotel near the station. The Windermere was about a 5-10 minute walk and I found it a lovely British experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, the breakfasts were great, the wi-fi worked well. The room was small but very comfortable, just the bathroom, though fully functional and with great amenities and towels, was a bit tight. Even had a safe in the closet. The bed and beddings was very comfortable. I will certainly go back.

very close to Victoria station extremely friendly and helpful staff fabulous english breakfast

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. It is a shame that you did not have the chance to enjoy our complimentary breakfast. We have a variety of room types and sizes. Only three (very well-appointed) rooms are situated on the patio level of the hotel. We recommend that any special requests be mentioned at the time of booking, in order to give us the greatest opportunity of accommodating guest preferences and requests accordingly.
