Pros: The location is great: 5-minute walk to the British Museum and 10-20 minute walk to shows and restaurants. Farouk was great as well as cleaners and breakfast staff. Breakfast was hefty and tasty. Cons: The room was a dump. Although cleaned every day, it still felt dirty. The floor and maybe the entire building was sloping and felt unsafe walking around in it, especially on the steep spiral staircase. We're elderly and got the highest floor. I asked for a different room, but was offered one in a separate building which meant going every morning to Morgan Hotel for breakfast. This would have been very inconvenient. So, I declined. The soap/shampoo/conditioner stunk. The shower door was hard to open and close. The other concierge was very rude.

Great location! Room small but clean. Service staff good. Breakfast could use some help starting with the coffee. Breakfast menu did not vary at all. We stayed a week and actually ate out breakfast after the first 2 days so we could get good coffee and some sweet rolls etc. Was noisy at night as outer window would not close and we were next to major street and a stop light. Would have been nicer to ne in back side of hotel away from the street as we'd requested. Staff was good overall

Amazing location. Be aware that there are stairs so that you will need to carry your luggage up/down these. My single room (apartment) backed onto the British Museum and had a back door leading out into a little garden area that I shared with the room next door. I was upgraded to an apartment as I was staying 5 nights and this was a beautifully quiet place. It is very narrow but has everything you need for an inner London stay (albeit a little tired). Breakfast was full English - eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomato, baked beans with toast (plus cereal, yoghurt, fruit) and plunger coffee. You could choose to leave out items to mix it up if you wish - eggs served anyway you wanted. The reception and breakfast was a few doors down the road from the apartments. You cannot see the TV from the bed but there is an armchair for viewing. Being very small, there is no place to have your suitcase open and being long and narrow, you needed the light on. I LOVED this place for location, and I LOVED my little back garden. It is so handy to so many iconic London areas. I have no idea what the original single room that I booked might have been like, but I am very grateful that I was put into the apartment instead. I would recommend this place (if you don't mind some run-down areas) for the incredible location.

The hotel has a slightly odd setup but all and all I thought it was a fine hotel. It was clean, breakfast was included and the beds were comfortable. My biggest issue was the shower head was mounted so high on the wall it wasn't usable but that was a minor inconvenience.

Everything we could possibly want

This was a fabulous place to say. We had a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor and everything was absolutely fantastic. We had a bedroom each and just so much space and so much furniture, as well as an outdoor terrace, kitchenette and big bathroom. The safe is very secure and large. We were so surprised at what a fantastic room we had and how comfortable everything was. We will definitely come and stay here again. The location was also fabulous and close to everything. Only a short walk to fabulous choices of food and we saw a musical a couple of blocks down on the corner, about Live Aid, called Just for one Day. One of the best musicals we have seen. Go and see it if you’re there. It’s worth it. There were ample appliances in the kitchenette to make our own food. Everything was way beyond our expectations. I really like the idea of supporting a family owned business as well

We loved our stay here! Our rooms were a few buildings down from reception. Quiet, despite being in Bloomsbury. Close to tube station (Tottenham Court), British Museum and lots of restaurants and shopping! Breakfast was good, staff were very friendly. Our suite was large and had everything we needed! Beds were comfortable. Will stay again in London!

Good location but breakfast was disappointing

The location of the hotel meant that it was close to everything we needed to get to for our visit by foot. The hotel is in an old building and because of this the layout is rather quirky. For example the reception is down a narrow set of stairs with a low ceiling, which I found to be a little bit of a struggle because I'm quite tall. Also our room was in a different part of the building which required us to go back outside and up the street a little, thankfully the ceiling on the stairs was a little higher here. The room itself was fine but very dated. The photos on the listing seem to be of more modern looking rooms. That said it was clean and bigger than expected. The listing said their would be air conditioning in the room but that didn't seem to be the case, it had cooled do a little the day we arrived so in the end it wasn't a problem. Breakfast had us go back into the main building where the reception is. I would say this was the most disappointing thing about our stay. Previous reviews pointed out the breakfast was excellent and it was one of the main reasons for selecting the hotel. However our experience wasn't like this. The eating area was very dated looking and the food quality and options wasn't great.
