We stayed in the Morgan Hotel on a short visit to London to go to the Theatre on day one and do the sights on day two. The hotel is in a brilliant location and only a few minutes walk from Tottenham Court Road tube station, Theatre Land, China Town etc.. Our room was a the front of the hotel, on Bloomsbury Rd. The room was small but adequate and very clean. We live in the countryside and I was a little worried that I would be kept awake at night due to the passing traffic but the addtional double glazing kept out the majority of passing traffic noise. However, this did make the room a bit stuffy and hot. I turned on the aircon but it sounded like a bag of nails and appeared to need a good service. We were with friends who stayed in the adjacent room and their aircon also did not work. Breakfast was excellent but again it was very hot in the breakfast room and could have done with some aircon. The staff were extremely friendly and prior to booking in and after booking out, were more than happy for us to leave our luggage in the hotel. I have read some comments about the lack of drinking water but the staff refilled our water bottles as and when. Shame about the aircon, as I would have been more that happy to give 5*
Let’s start with the pro’s: Good location for the theatre we had tickets booked for, close to Tottenham court rd tube, lots of restaurants on the doorstep. British museum very close. Staff very friendly, check in very quick, breakfast good. Bed very comfy, air conditioning worked very well. Con’s The building could do with a good paint, bedroom decor looking very tired. The shower was none existent, let me elaborate, you couldn’t even get your hair wet let alone anything else and what water did come out was luke warm. So we couldn’t have a shower. Not good enough! Hot water in sink in bathroom was again tepid at best, you also can’t drink the water from the sink as the sign states clearly “not drinking water” one bottle of water was supplied in the room but we had to buy more for obvious reasons. TV was up on the ceiling pretty much and the size of a postage stamp. I could hear the neighbours TV, we could also hear them talking earlier on. The room is tiny. I know this hotel is only a three star, but none the less it wasn’t cheap and I’m sorry to say not being able to have a shower is unacceptable. I would like to finish with saying thank you to the staff at breakfast, the staff did look after our case whilst we did some sightseeing. Will we stay here again, I’m afraid to say no. I don’t think it’s worth the money especially when there are so many other options available. Now we know what is around that area. Best wishes
Stayed here for one night this weekend. Room was very small but acceptable for a one night stay. Bathroom was small again and not as clean as I would have liked. Shower was hot but the head was broken and twisted sideways so the only way to use it was to take the shower head off. All the doors are heavy and slam shut every-time they close. Photos used to advertise are not an accurate representation of what you actually get. Hotel is very basic. Receptionist was great, very friendly and excellent service. Breakfast was edible but not great. It was luke warm at best apart from the one sausage I was served which was piping hot so assuming it was microwaved to reheat. There was tea, coffee and orange juice available. The waitress who served us at breakfast did not utter a single word to us the entire time we were there. No hello, no what can I get you, no help yourself to drinks, no can I get you anything else. Simply nothing. Her idea of service was to stare at you until you ordered. Terrible service! I’ve never received such bad service. I would not go here again. Definitely NOT worth the £175 I paid!!!!! The only positive was the location, very central to shops, restaurants and underground.
No idea where they photos were taken as the ones online weren’t the same place we stayed! Room was tiny and shower had no flow. The telephone was over the toilet! The receptionist was friendly but at breakfast the lady that served us managed to do it without saying 1 word to us, we didn’t even get a smile. She just stood next to the table and starred at us till we ordered. It isn’t worth the money.
Good location, beds uncomfortable and lumpy pillows Breakfast was cold and very small the girl who served it didn't speak a word when she brought the food The girl on reception was nice though very helpful
Stayed here, as close to Aldwych theatre, great location, but hotel very disappointed, small no lift so if elderly you would struggle, rooms small, Staff didn’t see any until breakfast no good morning nothing, lots of tables left with lots food left on plates, order our breakfast was ok but had better. Would not stay again very disappointed
This is in a great locaiton just north of Covent Garden and ideal for the British Museum, Soho, etc, and it is in an interestering Victorian house with historic features. However, the furnishing are very old, the rooms very small, the walls are paper thin, it is definately not romantic, and the breakfast is very basic.
One of many small, independent hotels in the area near the British Museum - this one is actually just round the corner from it. Fine hotel, no frills. It could use some renovation, but the rooms are spacious and clean. It's useful to know that - according to the room you get - you may have to climb several flights of steps, and there is no elevator. Sufficiently quiet. Breakfast ok. At walking distance from a few metro stops. Good value for money.
Lovely stay, rooms a little dated but warm and clean, breakfast was lovely, the TV is small and very high on the wall, but hey we didn’t come here for that. Our room was on the front, no traffic was heard....
Nice hotel, could do with updating, a very pleasant stay though and perfectly adequate for ourselves, breakfast was good, staff very friendly. Close proximity to everywhere possible as we walked from Euston station to it and all around London for the few days we were there.
