We stayed at this hotel in July We booked it because it looked nice in pictures and was very well located. We were 6 staying together in that room/apartment. Thankfully we only stayed there over a weekend and it was terrible. Everything was so dirty and no maintenance had been done there for a long time. It was a problem flushing down the toilet. Beds, floor and windows were broken. Only good thing I can say about this place is the location.
We had booked for 5 nights. The bathroom floor was broken, the sofa bed was broken the carpets we extremely dirty with stains. The apartment window was broken. It looked like a hell house and nobody was there to attend or speak or complain to. They don't bother to check your identity or passport and the property looks so worn down that we had to run of the same on the second night itself. Eventually we shifted to Novotel Waterloo which was cheaper to what these guys charged us and was a perfect place with family to stay. Kindly beware before booking this hotel as it's nothing to what pictures they have displaced.
Extremely small bathrooms, mouldy carpet and curtains, our room had a leak from the plumbing in the room above. The three bedroom apartment downstairs was terrible. One room appeared to have been a hallway, with two single beds end to end with barely enough room to walk down the side. One room was a converted conservatory with no insulation, a glass roof and no privacy from the apartment above. The desk is rarely manned and when the fire alarm went off and everyone evacuated, a guest had to go back in and reset the alarm following the instructions received over the phone from the owners. After 3 days we started becoming ill so moved out to avoid serious sickness.
AVOID AT ALL COST This place is the hostel from Hell do not book it – research the address and you will see that this place has 1 out of 5 reviews all over the internet. The flat is actually located in a hostel All the hostel is super dirty and bug ridden. Regarding the hostel as a whole: We got greeted by one of the owner who was on the phone the whole time and barely spoke to us and even said hello. Then he proceeded to ask us for documents even though we booked with Airbnb and he had all the information he required. Regarding the cleanliness of the hostel: The hostel is very dirty all of it there is a piss stained couch on the first floor (I hope it was only piss I think it was way worse than this). All the carpet of the whole hostel has long forgotten what a vacuum cleaner looks or sounds like. Regarding the Room: The room is really dirty there are suspicious stains everywhere (it’s probably semen more often than not) There is mold also everywhere but it’s hidden so you can’t see it but after a little while the mold will get in your lungs and you will start having a nasty cough. The carpet hasn’t been vacuumed in at least a year. The biggest room is actually not really a room the flat has been expanded but it’s all wood. In the other room there is a hole in the wall. All the drawers are dirty I found some hair a dirty Q-tip and trash in my bed side drawer. The chairs have stains of them (suspicious stains again) The furniture is dirty and old A lot of people fall into the trap of booking this place because the location is quite central and the price is attractive.
This was and is an amazing hotel for someone looking for the vintage experience!!! Couldn't have been any more perfect and couldn't recommend it highly enough brilliant service amazing flat with quirky character!! You'd be a fool not to!!!
I stayed at here for 6 nights and on the first day I arrived it's difficult for me to find the place as I arrived late night and the reception already close and with help from the local people who eventually walking at there I managed to see the owner of the place Mr. Basil. My room was small, old furniture's and the washroom too small but it was great I can cook and the wifi working perfectly all the times. The place have great location with lot's of shops, restaurants, the park and garden, the tube station just 6 minutes walking and the attraction places. The owner of the place Mr.Basil was nice guy,he helped me a lot's during my stay at there, very humble and always smile. Will stay again during next visit.
I have never made the time to review hotels and my shock and disgust has prompted my action. I promise to write more especially for great places that take so much effort to make our visits positive. I had reserved to stay here for three nights paying £109 per night. The owner sits in the corner of the hallway and immediately makes you pay for the remainder of your booking. This has never happened to me before and I was puzzled. After taking my luggage to the room, I realised why..... it's a horrible place, the bed is cheap and nasty and the rooms are furnished with battered second hand furniture. The shower cubicle has been held together with sealant, the shaving light is broken, the carpets are filthy, sofa is torn and ironing board is ripped. I rushed downstairs to ask for a better room and was told this was the best room he had and I should count myself lucky. I demanded a refund for the very last night and he refused stating the contact did not allow it. To cap it all he said "don't waste my time". After two nights of being unable to sleep I decided to check out early and forgo my payment. That's how bad it was. The place purports to be "luxury" but this place is a disgrace and a shock to the system in this day and age. Please learn from my mistakes and read many reviews before you go. Great reviews of this place are simply not accurate. If you have time go check it out for yourself and add it to your list of "Hotels from Hell". Good luck.
This place has a great location. Lots of shops and great restaurants all around. Loved being so close to the tube and Whole Foods. We stayed in unit 9 and it was great for a family of 4. The kitchen is old but the fridge & washing machine work great. We didn't cook here during our stay. All of the furnishings are old and worn. Our only complaint is that the mattresses are very old and not very comfortable. The place was very clean. When a curcuit blew we told the gentleman at the front desk and he fixed it right away. They were very helpful at checkin with getting a taxi from the airport. We came after hours and I let him know that we would be late and the key was waiting for us. We had a great stay!
I felt compelled to write a review of my stay. I had booked the two bedroom two bathroom flat (#7), and THEN read all of the reviews of this place. I was sick to my stomache about it, so worried that this might be an awful place. My family and I arrived and WOW, we had a great experience. Flat #7 was clean, and reasonably comfortable. This is not a luxury flat. The decor is worn, and the kitchen is tiny and outdated (we didn't cook here. BUT, the street is charming, the staff is very nice, and let me repeat, our flat was very clean. This is ideal for a couple with one or two children. Kensington Park is ONE block away. Breath taking pond, playground, Kensington Gardens, Kensington Palace. Whole Foods is 2 blocks away, as is the Kensington High Street Underground stop. I feel like this flat was priced reasonably, and we are very happy. Now there does appear to be construction next door, but thankfully no one was working on that building the week we have been here. I also think this flat is great for no more than four people, as the rooms are small.
I read so many bad reviews about this place but for me it was perfect. Location was great - in the heart of chelsea, right beside hyde park which is beautiful for walks, very close to the main shopping district - harrods, oxford circus etc. The place was clean and had my own kitchen so we ate in a few nights. Reasonably priced. I was very close to choosing a different place because of all the bad reviews but maybe they have changed their policy as for me the staff were very polite an helpful and the place looked as though it had been recently done up.
