The Alhambra Hotel is situated very near King's Cross metro station making it easily accessible to all of London. If you arrive at Heathrow you can take the tube straight to the King's Cross tube station and walk a short block to the hotel. Our room had a double bed, a closet, a desk and chair and 2 bedside tables. Lots of electric outlets that were easily accessible. The bathroom was tiny but totally new and super clean. WIFI worked great. A fan was provided which was all we needed. Breakfast was excellent. I would stay here again.
From J Boy of Derby This great family run hotel is first class, it's minutes walk from Kings X, St Pancras international and the underground. Walking distance to Camden the city and possibly the West End. Rooms are very comfortable with excellent beds, almost all are en suite with great easy to use showers.prices include a very good breakfast either full English or continental. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all a very comfortable and reasonably priced hotel just off the Euston Road.
I spent 4 nights here. Initially I chose it for convenience- 5 minutes from Kings Cross and 30 from where I was working. But the welcome was great and my room though small had everything I needed and was comfortable and convenient. They're well organised - breakfast was quick and delicious and served with a smile and my room was thoroughly cleaned each day. I'll be back.
Stayed in an apartment on Judd St and had breakfast in the main hotel. Normally I'm a straight forward guest but this time I must have been dizzy. Ignored the texted instructions to pick up the keys at the main hotel I turned up at the apartment without the key. Mgr Bruno despatched a lady to let us in! Then I checked out leaving a wardrobe of stuff still in the room. I did realise this and returned to find the staff had already retrieved it and presented it folded in a bag. Who needs customers like this? Well played the staff of the Alhambra. Next time I'll pack my brain
We needed a room for 3 people for one night on our way through London, and the Alhambra fit our needs very well. It's convenient to Kings Cross/St Pancras so it was quick and easy to get to from Gatwick. Our room was not quite ready when we arrived in the morning, so we spent a little while happily exploring the nearby British Library. We were close enough to Covent Garden to walk there and back in the afternoon, which was great. And then the hotel's full English breakfast was a great start to our next travel day, again leaving from St Pancras. It was clean and quiet and the service was friendly and helpful.
With five people travelling, we had a two person room and a yhree person room. From making initial inquiries, getting transportation set up and getting us good prices for specific sttractions, the staff was extremely helpful. Morning breajfast was a treat and got us ready for our day's activities. Rooms are smaller than US standards, but very acceptable by European standards and exceptionaly clean. Location was perfect, a ways from the London hubub but within a very short walk for great restaurants and King's Cross station. Bruno is an extremely fine host.
All london hotel rooms are small, but if only they were all so clean and serviced by such friendly helpful staff. even the breakfast was top notch - and i am really picky about these things. finally found a place for my occasional overnight stays in london. phew!
Definitely good for its prize. I've been there on a business trip in a tiny single room. Maybe one of the smallest rooms I've ever had. Anyway it was very clean and confortable. The water pressure was too low and it took a while to shower but all the rest was pretty satisfactory. The breakfast was also good. I would go back to the same place in some other occasions. I couldn't see the size of the double rooms, but I assume they were according to the singles.
London is an expensive place to stay. We found the Alhambra to be a reasonable choice, safe and clean, for three nights. Nothing to rhapsodize over, but no regrets! The hotel is certainly convenient to to Kings Cross and St Pancras, on a street lined with hotels. Our room was across the street from the office and breakfast room, on the lower level, very oddly laid out: shower in one room, toilet in another, sink in the bedroom. But it was fine, and we appreciated having a shelf behind the bed. There was occasional noise, but not much. Breakfast was good, everything we could want, including vegetarian English breakfast. The desk is staffed 24 hours--the building had some electrical problems one night, and the manager was attentive and kept resetting the circuits. I would say this is a well-run establishment.
Very conveniently located near Kings Cross and St Pancras station and places to eat. Small quaint hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. Rooms are small but if your visiting London, your only in the room to sleep and shower. The bed was comfortable. The only drawback is there is NO elevators! If you have large bags, it is difficult to haul them up the narrow and steep steps!
