On arrival we were greeted by a young man on reception. He asked me to sign a piece of paper on which I noticed it stated the room was a "twin room" (Room 111). I asked him if our room was a twin, and he assured me that it was a double. I specifically asked if this meant we would have 2 single beds pushed together, or a double bed, and was told that it would be a double bed. When we got to the room it was not a double bed... It was 2 single beds pushed together. This was the first disappointment as this made us feel like we couldn't sleep in the middle of the bed together, and instead stuck to our own sides for the night. We also found it a bit strange that we had been put into a disabled access room as we had not requested one. This made us feel like we had just been put to the bottom of the pile and just assigned to the last room you had available. On closer inspection there were also a few faults with the bathroom. The shower pressure is poor (my girlfriend did not feel like she could properly wash her hair with a "dribbly" shower). Some of the water squirts out from below the shower head as if it is not attached properly, or in need or replacement. Also when I turned the knobs to turn the shower on one of the chrome/plastic pieces fell off. We also had issues with getting a good nights sleep. We were rudely awakened at 04.45am by what sounded like a bin lorry right outside of our bedroom window. The lorry made enough noise by itself before bin loads of glass were dragged across the pavements and then tipped into the back of the lorry with loud crashes. As we were then awake my girlfriend turned the heater off, which then led to an irritating mechanical squeaking sound coming through the vents! We could not put up with it so we turned the heating back on which seemed to stop the noise, but meant that we had no choice but to have the heating on... As I was now wide awake I also noticed noise coming from the hallway and other rooms (I would have thought the old building would have been a lot more solid and sound proof). There was then another bin lorry that passed loudly around 0700am...
Very centrally located. Nice clean room and friendly staff. Would have liked a box of tissues and body lotion in the bathroom. Was also pleased to find so many tv stations. Usually this is missing in many hotels. We plan to visit Liverpool again and will definitely stay again

The young lady on receiption was fabulous, very friendly & helpful but no name badge so unable to praise her enough. This was our 2nd stay with you and it was great. The rooms are spotless & very comfortable, we will be back X
Chris was great at explaining the local area and what there was to see and do, and the hotel was clean and nice. Nearby, Jenny's does amazing cocktails and is well worth popping your nose in. Cheese & co, or HUS are 2 excellent places for breakfast. The only slightly down side is that we could hear music in the room at night from The Alchemist (we were there Fri and Sat night so prob the worst it gets). We managed to sleep ok, and it was great to stay in such a buzzing area. We also managed to find a cheaper deal online which the hotel matched directly and they also gave me an upgrade for booking directly.
Chris behind at the reception couldn't have been more helpful. He listed all of the places for me and my girlfriend to go to as well as going out of his way to book us an evening at a secluded cocktail bar
Excellent location near all the most interesting attractions. Very kind people at reception, they give you all the information you need. Rooms are perfect, clean and well equipped. All you need is... in this hotel! ;-)
