The good: convenient location; friendly receptionist (although the front desk is often not manned and I've seen no other staff at all); clean and recently decorated to a good standard; ironing board provided. The less good: tiny dark room, overlooked across a narrow street so curtains need to be closed (nothing to see anyway), very noisy from 05.00 with bin lorries and beer deliveries, plus internal noise from lift or aircon or something. No bottles water provided and only tiny glasses. Poor TV, if you care. Totally unimaginative in every way: I'm writing this review while I'm still here as I won't remember this hotel tomorrow.
Brilliant location for all the sights, near to bus station to and from the airport and for travel around the city. Friendly staff and clean rooms. It's near bars which means u can hear the beat of the music but it's not rowdy. Room was a bit chilly and air con seemed to be set for cool and shower water was a bit on the chilly side a couple of mornings.
I enjoyed staying at Heywood House- nice, comfortable room and helpful and pleasant staff. Well-located for the river and town. Good value. Very comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. Small lobby area and just one lift.
My husband and myself spent four nights in Liverpool as we wanted to do all the tourist things and wanted to be central to all the attractions. We found this hotel and paid £234 for four nights room only. There are loads of eating places in central Liverpool!! Our main concern wherever we go is cleanliness and comfort. This hotel ticked those boxes. The room was large, albeit a strange shape which I think is due to it being a warehouse many moons ago. We were on the top floor and had a balcony which looked like it was set in the rooftops, which was great but unfortunately it rained constantly so we couldn't make use of it. Nice to sit on first thing in the morning with a cup of tea and admire the architecture, weather permitting! There are tea and coffee facilities in the room. Like all the Liverpudlians we met, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also by staying here we got 45% off our parking fee and 15% off our food bill at the Alchemist restaurant which is attached to the Heywood. If you're doing the Beatles Story and all the other attractions, plus want a trip across the Mersey, this is the place to go. Would recommend it.
The hotel was very central for shopping and for the nightlife as well as the docks. Being so central the hotel suffers from a lot of noise at night. Nice hotel just wish that they were able to offer breakfast. Overall nice stay
I stayed here for 1 night. Great value, large room with a very comfortable bed. Right in the heart of the city. Excellent value, I would certainly stay here again. No bar or restaurant within the hotel but lots on the doorstep.
We booked through booking.com and used are Clubcard vouchers to upgrade to room with a balcony and were very happy with our stay and service . Great location for our sight seeing and plenty of bars for drinking and more than enough restaurants for eating. Easy check in. Parking a 5 min walk but as stated before discount voucher from hotel. No complaints from us.
The room had everything and more that we needed! Massive bath and shower, huge and comfortable bed. A lot of noise outside due to it being a Saturday night but we barely could hear it inside the room. Highly recommended.
Stayed at this hotel on a Friday night, me and my partner for a night out in liverpool. The hotel is in a perfect location right in the city centre with Matthew street just 2 mins walk away. The room we stayed in was lovely it had a nice homely feel to it. Our room was at the front of the hotel but we didn't hear any noise from outside so nice and quiet. No car park but you can park at the Q car park a few mins walk away and get a 40% off voucher from reception. Next time we come to Liverpool we'll defiantly be looking to stay here again
We booked this last minute and it was very reasonably priced compared to a lot of the other hotels in the city centre. Our room was very conformable, and had plenty of tea/coffee in the room which is nice as a lot of other places only give you one or two sachets of each. The bathroom was quite small but was nicely decorated, clean with a nice shower and white company complimentary toiletries. The location was great,in the city centre and a short walk from the docks.
