The hotel is outside Cascais about 30 mins from Lisbon City centre. Good hotel for golfers and families. There is a beautiful golf course guests use. Rooms are modern and clean and well decorated. Service in the hotel and pool bar area is good and pleasant staff. Restaurant has reasonable choice but less for vegetarians. Having said that the staff ate very helpful and will assist as best as they can. The hotel has a complimentary shuttle services to places of interest in the near vicinity. Cascais centre is good with many eating places and shopping. Beach is also good. Overall a good hotel and will definitely visit again.
The rooms are very comfortable and the beds are huge, the staff are excellent and provide excellent customer service. The breakfast is amazing the quality of food and the choice is first class. The only gripe I have is I feel the price of soft drinks are very expensive 7eur for a coke as the euro is basically worth a £1 (I know the state of the euro is not your fault) but this means a coke is £7 for family's this cost is crippling. My husband was a bit disappointed there was no kettle in the room as he likes a cup of tea a night.
The rooms were fresh and clean with a lovely balcony. Ours overlooked the 1st and 19th holes. There was a very tasty buffet lunch and breakfast with lots of choice. We also went to the Golf Clinic which was a lot of fun as there was a huge group of us. No complaints.
Having been placed here for two nights, I can't help but notice it's no way a 5 star resort. The Sheraton 10 minutes away seems more luxurious and worth looking at. I can't actually write anything positive right now but best leave at the underwhelmed feeling i have for the place.
The hotel is situated outside of Cascais and located at the entrance to the golf area. The building and outside area are well arranged with direct view onto the gold holes with nice pool. Outside bar and restaurant have a nice atmosphere also some tables and chairs need some. The food was tasty and the staff was friendly but the overall atmosphere of the hotel misses some warmth and cosiness.
We spent a week here for a friends 70th birthday in Cascais. We had a very nice room on the 1st floor with a good view over the pool and golf course. We are not golfers, so I couldn't comment on the course, but it did look very attractive. Breakfast was included and was always very fresh with lots of options, including great coffee! Unfortunately there was some work around the pool happening on a few days, including on one day, chipping tiles or something. This was really annoying and went on for about 4 or 5 hrs. We complained to the manager who said it would be completed in about half an hour, so we went away for lunch. However it was still happening when we returned. I appreciate that maintenance needs to be done, however the sound of hammer and chisel on tiles for hours at a time is not relaxing. On the whole the hotel was lovely, the staff were friendly, the spa was very nice, there was very speedy WiFi with good coverage, and we had a really lovely time.
Hotel has really amazing service, it's beautiful and u can easily observe that on photos but it was service that impressed me. In the middle of night suddenly I was out my inhaler (which I use for asthma and needed it urgently due to humidity) I appeared reception, they were very helpful. The guy went in the city to get me it. it was really nice of them. And of course food and coffee is delicious ;)
The hotel location is set in a beautiful area of Cascais, near the coastline. The courtesy offered by the hotel to provide transport to the station and the Monte Mar restaurant is excellent. Want to relax and / or play golf, Quinta da Marinha has it all. The rooms are very comfortable with beautiful views. ALL staff are accommodating and professional. The good variety at the breakfast lounge is a perfect start to the day.
A group of 5 adults and 2 children attended a friends wedding at the Hotel Quinta da Marinha in May 2017. We decided to book a villa at the hotel as most of the wedding festivities were taking place on the hotel grounds, and felt that we would be a big part of the wedding and get to use the hotel facilities as a result of this. Please note that we did have other options with better facilities, better located and cheaper but chose this hotel for the above reason. On arrival, we were told that the villa was not located on the hotel grounds (this is not mentioned on the website) and we would have to take a shuttle which they provide to and from the villa and this would take approximately 7 minutes. Maybe without children it wouldn't have been as much as an inconvenience but either way if we had known we would have booked elsewhere. While waiting nearly 30 minutes for the shuttle, the first thing we checked out was the gym, this comprised of 6 cardio machines in a very small area with a view of the wall in front, there were no weight machines or dumb bells available. I wouldn't consider this a gym and very surprised that a 5* hotel had such poor facilities. The hotel claims that there are 2 shuttles, but we only saw 1 during our stay, and apparently this is the same shuttle that is used to transfer hotel guests into Cascais. Therefore you can be waiting a long time for a shuttle which we experienced a number of times. On arrival at the villa, our first impressions were good, and the rooms are well appointed with 2 double bedrooms both en-suite and a separate shower room a small decked area outside overlooking well manicured gardens. What we did notice is that the villas are not child friendly with very sharp edges on the stairs, large open areas between the stair rails and the stair which a child of 2 could have easily fallen through. All the doors are also very easy to open, even for my 2 year old nephew that managed to open the doors with ease and end up outside. Breakfast was included in the room price and was adequate. Good variety of food. The hotel staff were all very polite and provided an excellent service, this was definitely 5*. The swimming pool an the area around it is lovely. We brought our concerns to the hotel director, who although was nice, was not interested in doing anything about it. He said he could move us to the hotel but this would cost an additional 50 euros per room per night, which we felt was unacceptable. He did however, deduct the cost of some drinks that we bought at the bar, although this was because the 5 welcome drinks they promised on arrival never came and not to resolve our issues. Overall the hotel is good if you play golf and are staying at the actual hotel, I cant comment on the hotel rooms as we did not see them. I wouldn't recommend the villas for families with children until they are child proofed and the shuttles facilities are improved. There are better options around the area, with better facilities and at a better price.
A group of eight of us are on a golfing holiday in Portugal and none of us were impressed with the quality of the hotel although the staff are extremely friendly and thoughtful the rooms are very poor for a 5 star hotel, the breakfast is the standard of a 3 star hotel, I would suggest if anyone is looking for a hotel in Cascais there are plenty of great hotels in the area that far exceed this hotel
