The suite was so impressive, huge, clean, modern. The service was great. Walking distance to restaurants, super markets, pubs, etc. From airport is took a while without traffic. The Lima is one of the city with terrible traffic. So go to airport earlier as usual...
We chose this hotel based on price and the room we got for 3 people was AWESOME....it had a kitchenette and was a suite...the bathtub had a jacuzzi feature which I partook in. Lots of great restaurants in the area. I highly recommend staying here.
Well located hotel in Miraflores but needs a refurb for it to be truly 5 stars. Apart from that, the size of the room and facilities are excellent - don't bother with the cafe, Lima is full of superb restaurants.
This place is amazing. We were able to stay in two rooms that seemed like complete luxury apartments. The bathroom was amazing, the rooms were kept very clean and tidy. We got so much for our money. Whenever I talk about Lima, I will always mention how great our experience was here at Thunderbird.
Wow, room like a mini apartment with kitchen and sitting room. Very Spacious and very clean. Had a great stay at this hotel situated in the lively Miraflores region of Lima. Like to say thanks to Lesley, Lele and Rafael for making my stay very comfortable.
This hotel is in a great location in Miraflores district, not far from Kennedy Park and all of the shops, cafes & bars. The room is enormous. It's like a mini suite made up of 2 areas; 1 with a lounge area with sofas & TV plus a kitchenette, and another for the bedroom (mine had 2 double beds) and bathroom, which had a big jacuzzi bath in it. The decor is slightly dated with all the dark wood furnishing, but it was all spotless so no complaints from me. Beds were extremely comfy. Pillows were a bit too big and fluffy for sleeping on. Ideal for sitting up in bed but I got a stiff neck after a couple of nights. I asked for a smaller pillow and they brought one to my room immediately. Heater in the salon area didn't work for a couple of days, but they managed to fix it eventually. The only thing that I felt was missing was tea/coffee making facilities in the room. It seemed strange that there wasn't a kettle or tea/coffee maker seeing as there was a kitchenette. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Reception staff spoke good English. Staff in restaurant had no English so it was sometimes difficult to make myself understood. Breakfast was very nice.
I passed 40 days in this hotel regarding a business trip. The location is very nice. Supermarket, larcomar shopping mall, restaurants are very near from hotel The bed is good. The room is big But the maintenance of the room equipment is not so good( They are a little old) Overwall is ok.
Room service did not change my sheets everyday, even when I put the "change sheets" card on the bed. Even when I stripped the bed, they put the same sheets back on. (I tested it with a small smudge on the corner.) They tested fire alarms at 10PM on work days, 1-2 times a week. They came to your room 2-3 times a night to offer a complimentary chocolate, which was a nice gesture but very annoying when I have to get up 3 times. If I didn't answer the door, they rang it twice. Room service was limited from the menu. Breakfast started at 7 so it was not a good choice for someone there on business who had to wake up early. And the breakfast was very limited. Some fruit, cereal, bread, ham and cheese. That's it. The location was close to parquet kennedy but it was on Pardo so it was very very loud and annoying to hear horns being honked all day and night. I was on the 7th floor and it still bothered me. The wifi was horrible. They said I was next to the receiver but it was very weak and I had to log back in every 20 minutes. I always walked across the street to starbucks which was not necessary. Normally, toilets in Peru get clogged easily but normally not in hotels. I couldnt even flush 2 small sheets of toilet paper with out it clogging. Oh, and there was no door to the bathroom. The only positive thing for me which was not positive for them, was when I checked out, my room service bill only showed about $25 dollars when it should have been about $300. I won there but it just shows how bad their accounting is. I wrote a complaint and requested a contact email or call and even mentioned it on the check box on the card and yet I had no response. I am generally happy and understanding with any situation but when its $200 a night out of my pocket, I expect better attention and service. Booking on cheaptickets or hotels.com is 60% cheaper than checking in there and they charge a crazy foreign tax. The reception was polite and rude at times, depends on who it was. I would not suggest this place. A hostal would have been better. Ive stayed in a jungle hostal that was better than this.
The front desk leaves much to be desired--we confirmed our reservation in person for a return visit a week ahead of time, but when we returned and spoke TO THE SAME PERSON the reservation was incorrect. Highly unfriendly attitude--no real solutions offered, other than, of course, pay more--and not worth the price or hassle. Plenty of other hotels in the area that will treat you more fairly.
Positives: great room space, good shower, very strategic location to know Miraflores by walk, ok breakfast, good wifi speed, bed very comfy, everything you need for a short stay Negatives: if you don't feel comfortable with your partner having a bathroom transparent door you would not have a problem; a bit during the day as the city drivers don't help a lot :), but ok during the night; believe the employees from hotel are not prepared for tourism, it seems they are more used to local business guests.
