ı have been travelling last 6 week s in South America I must admit that Thunderbird was the best hotel i ve stayed. From front desk to house keeping was perfect. Great attention very clean and comfortable rooms rich breakfast options incredible staff makes you feel at home. When i go back to Lima i would definitely stay there
Four of us , stayed in November 2017. Good location, restaurants, banks, clubs near by. Staff is hit and miss some nice, some....The older gentlemen from the bar , I forgot his name , he prepared the best pisco sour we had in our whole trip ( Peru and Chile ) strongly recommended (I am craving it). We rented two rooms, one facing the main street (can be noisy because the windows used ) but had the biggest living room for a hotel I'm ever been in my life _ huge. Two bathrooms , jetted tub in the main big bedroom, comfy beds. Breakfast included nothing spectacular but not bad either. The hotel has the policy to let just one visitor in room, not strictly enforced but one particular guy was stubborn, trying to be more catholic than the pope.We asked to stay 4 of us in the big room for extra charge of course we were told is not possible, so be aware. Overall very good experience, I will stay there again without hesitation . Not giving them 5 stars .... the noise can be bothering (didn't bother us too much ) and the lack of customer service from one the the previously mentioned front desk staff(which really bothered us ). In the bigger room with 2 bathrooms fairly strong kitchen smell , was noticeable in the small bathroom ( not a biggie for us ). The concierges , the best, Daniel one of the drivers strongly recommend and of course the best pisco sour at the bar , seriously !
First night we got a room which was facing the street. noise level was crazy the whole night. looks like that street never calms down! We complained the next day and they gave us a better room which was further away from the main street, however, the noise was still there, but less sever. I think they need to do something about the windows noise isolation. Windows are just a one layer glass ... Overall, it was not really a four star. More like a 3 star hotel. I have to admit the neighborhood was great!
These are suites with kitchenette but also like a hotel so you can get breakfast or meals. It is quite and fairly central. We have the best suite 1602 which is huge and probably the largest with a big balcony. The rooms are clean the staff very helpful. It is about 50 minutes drive from the airport. The breakfast was good and mostly Peruvian clientele. Not crowded and they will accommodate your choice if you don't like the buffet. I would stay here again.
We had the pleasure of staying at the Thunderbird in Lima on José Pardo Street recently. The hotel is well kept; the rooms are clean and spacious. The staff attitude is phenomenal. Everyone we dealt with, whether they could speak English or only Spanish, were so pleasant and helpful. We were made to feel like wanted and valued customers. We'll definitely go there again. Only negative comment is: Rooms on the Pardo Street side are extremely noisy, all day and night long. Ask for a room away from the main street.
The photos make it look a lot more modern than it was. The hotel is clean and safe and in a good location. The suites are clean and huge with great shower, but the carpeting and furniture are in 70s dark brown coloring which dates everything. The windows are not sound proof - but we were exhausted and so this didn't bother us.
The Thunderbird is a nice hotel with large suites at reasonable prices. The staff is super-attentive and the wifi is actually fast. The location is unbeatable for people who like to walk in urban settings. The Parque Central de Miraflores is a beautiful public space full of people in the evenings.
We missed a flight and American Airlines put us up at the Thunderbird Hotel. We had no idea what to expect, but were immediately pleased on arrival. The desk clerk was waiting for us and checked us in. Our room was a suite and extraordinarily nice. The bed was really comfortable, room immaculate, everything worked perfectly. Maintenance was excellent. The room included a very nice breakfast. The restaurant is really nice and the food was very good. Breakfast service was excellent. All the hotel staff were very nice. I highly recommend it.
Large living area with comfortable sofas and table and chairs... and separate bedroom. A little musty living room as I suspect it gets little use.but nice stop. Clean, good hot shower, great location in walking distance to square.
Came across this hotel through the web expecting it to be better. At the time I stayed, the hotel was undergoing some renovation and construction noise was a pain throughout the day. Plus there is a building under construction across the street which added to the noise. Hotel is net though and service is attentive. Note to management: if the hotel is undergoing construction, bring prices down or offer free breakfast...!
