Reviews hide a lot of the hotels reputation. Firstly, I booked this resort through Expedia as I am a VIP member. Got no VIP room upgrade, as is the norm. Ok, no worries there. Pool area - they close the slide for the kids at 4pm, and the main pool area by 10pm. Meaning if you go on an excursion, by the time you get back the kids have to see a great looking water slide for a few hours before sunset and not get to use it. My youngest son was so disappointed. Next, the beach area. It is so littered with wash up from the ocean, this place did not comb the beach once in the 4 days I stayed there. So no beach enjoyment. Next, we stayed from Sunday to Wednesday, their primary restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday, so your choice to eat was either door dash fast food, or to go on a wait (ours was over an hour at 6pm on a Sunday) at their bar/lounge which seats 25-30 people, in a resort with 100 rooms. Next, the on site laundry facility was closed down effective 3/08, the day we arrived, and there was no mention on their website or Expedia of this, nor mentioned when we checked in, we learned from a note on the door of the laundromat stating it was closed and we should either walk (2 miles away) or get a taxi/uber there. Finally, we needed a late checkout the day before departure, they charge $30 per hr for a late checkout, no problem there, but we had 2 rooms and they could only give us a late checkout for 1 of them.
