Great spot in downtown Lexington!

This property is so pretty! The beds were super comfy, the location was perfect for walking wherever we needed, and the property manager let us check in early so we had plenty of time before our event to get settled. 10/10 highly recommend!

We really loved the historic features and feel of this property. It was spacious, comfortable and updated just enough without taking away from the historic appeal. We could walk everywhere we wanted, especially downtown. Most importantly, for this stay, it is a very short distance to Rupp. We were in town for graduation and easily walked the two short blocks to the arena while watching the heavy traffic all day long. We used the kitchen island and living room as a place for our graduate and a few friends to relax before graduation. They also didn’t have to worry about the traffic and simply walked to Rupp. We would stay here again even without going to graduation.

Unexpected visitor

I booked the property for a weekend because of the location. I love historic buildings and this one looked well kept, updated, and clean. Upon arrival everything looked great and check in went smoothly. Around 2 am I heard a strange noise like something was hitting the window. I turned to see what was going on and a bat was flying around the room. After around 5 minutes of it going from one end of the room to other I grabbed my phone and started recording as proof for the property manager. It flew by me one last time and went toward an exposed brick wall with several holes in it and I couldn’t find it anymore. I immediately contacted the property owner and VRBO. The timeliness of the communication of the property owner was great. Unfortunately, I did not feel comfortable staying the second night and asked for a refund for just the second night. After a lot of communication instead of anything even close to half of what we paid for the weekend we got a ridiculous inconvenience fee of 150 refunded. I absolutely love the idea of a historical building, but you need to make sure it’s secure before renting it out. The bat came and went without any windows or doors being opened. The owner has decided that the bat flew in whenever we came in, but no explanation as to how it got out. I was very disappointed in how this was handled and would not recommend renting from this owner.
