My wife and I stayed here on our trip to the west coast. Nice town and nice hotel. Clean and comfortable. Check in and check out was a breeze. Room was nice. Breakfast was nice. Right across from the entrance to the fort.
Traveled to area to visit Leavenworth National Cemetery where my sister is buried. I use a cane and we had our 14 year old beagle with us. I went on a website which lists dog friendly hotels. This one looked new and clean and the others did not. I booked one night. After waiting 20 minutes for the two check-in clerks to finish helping a family, the one who we found out later was the manager left. A young man started to check us in and stated that there was a $100 non-refundable pet fee. I said that we were unaware of that because the website we used did not mention that. The young man said he felt the the manager would waive the fee. He returned with the manager, a small woman wearing a sloppy t-shirt who rudely said absolutely not. We then asked to cancel the room she said we would be charged for the night because we did not cancel in time. We decided to stay. She said they had to deep clean any room a dog had stayed in. All furniture had to be removed and the carpet steamed clean which I am sure is untrue. She was very rude and snapped at me a couple of times. Neither employee was wearing a name tag. When washing my hair, I discovered that the large dispenser of Tea Tree Conditioner was empty. Our dog slept on her own bed which we had with us. She did her business outside and never barked. Very disappointing and frustrating experience.
Not a bad stay, clean, nice shower products. It was pretty noisy and the breakfast was underwhelming. Staff was great and accommodating. If you are deciding between this and the Fairfield in the same parking lot, I would do the Fairfield, they have more to offer with similar accommodations.
I wanted to try out this new option in Leavenworth. It is located in the same parking lot as the existing Fairfield Inn. They are sister Marriott Properties. I will focus my review on comparing the two hotels since I’ve stayed at the other several times. Towneplace: Suite Style rooms with mini kitchen Shower only no bathtub Small but efficient rooms Amazing Closet with Organizer Smaller breakfast, less variety, no fresh cut fruit, no soy milk or real cream at breakfast Everything is Brand New Keurig coffee makers in rooms Upgraded shampoo amenities in bathroom Indoor Pool Fairfield: Standard hotel style rooms with mini fridge & microwave Traditional coffee makers in room Bathtubs More variety at breakfast including fresh cut fruit, soy milk & cream. More hot options. Larger breakfast area. Still a fairly new hotel only a few years old Outdoor Pool (not usable most of the year) Basically, if you’re staying longer then having a kitchen would be beneficial & I’d choose this hotel. If the price is the same or is higher then I’d choose the Fairfield. I wasn’t as satisfied with the breakfast here & I prefer to have a bath tub in my room. It’s a very nice & brand new option in Leavenworth. It’s easily accessible from the Airport. Lots of parking in a well lit lot. Friendly service. Would definitely stay again based on price & availability.
