We first stayed in Hotel Aulac in July, returning again in August. The hotel is in a prime location for restaurants and views of the stunning lake Geneva. Also, close to the metro (free travel for guests at the hotel) We stayed in a double room with City views , the rooms are basic, however clean and comfortable. The staff are so very helpful and friendly and respond immediately to any requests. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again.

The hotel is a 3 minute walk from the port and a minute walk to the Metro. The rooms are pretty good, modern and clean. The staffs are amazing and made my stay and tour a lot easier. What i didn't like: My pillow, its like i didn't have a pillow at all, it is so thin. During check-in the front desk area was so hot. Well there is a heatwave when i visited but i was hoping that inside the hotel it will be a lot cooler. But aside from what i've mentioned everything is great with this hotel. Will definitely stay here again when i revisit Lausanne!

We had a room with a balcony, and there was a little table on the balcony with chairs. The view was unbelievable! Lake Geneva and the French mountains in the distance. Just awesome. The room was very nice, too - modern and comfortable. But really - the view. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Literally steps away from the train station which is so good bec we hate dragging our big bags around town. Cafes, take aways and a bakery with v nice pastries n jams very near hotel. We stayed in the family room with a double and a bunk bed it was comfortable for 4. Room is v clean n has beautiful view of the lake. Ample nice amenities, much better than 4 other hotels we stayed this trip. Only setback is soft pillows, which is common in most hotel. The lakeside is popular, if facing the lake, room is a little noisy, mainly human noise as traffic is light, until around midnight. In summer we need leave the window open at night for cool air bec there is no aircond, which is common in many hotels. The reception is very nice, friendly and helpful.

Hotel Aulac is situation around the corner from the train station at Ouchy, across from the lakeside esplanade. Our room was a decent size with a lakeside view. Ouchy is popular as a public playground so expect lots of pedestrians. Having said that, it was not noisy at night. I would recommend this hotel for it's location in Ouchy. To be honest, we did not spend that much time in Lausanne as it was the Easter holidays and being a city, there wasn't much on. Tip: take a ferry ride to Evian.

The reviews for this hotel are mixed, but I took a chance on booking this hotel anyways because the price was right for a family. Affordable family rooms are difficult to find in Switzerland, so that was the main reason for booking this hotel. I'm glad I did, because it was a very good place to stay! As to be expected in Europe, the room was small. But, laid out well enough for us to put down two carry on suitcases and a large checked luggage bag without them being on the floor. Across one wall was a desk type area. You couldn't put luggage on it, because it had two tiers, but we just used the chair for our third piece of luggage. The kids had their own bunk bed, which was very nice. The room was very clean and had laminate flooring - which I liked because hotel carpet can be so dirty. This hotel provides their guests with face cloths (a bonus in Europe) and generous sized towels. Service here was good. The front desk was helpful and friendly. Housekeeping got me a new pillow because the one I had was too fluffly. I felt like I was sleeping on a mountain. From the outside, the hotel is beautiful to look at and is very well situated so that it is easy to get around Lausanne. Our room had a beautiful view facing the lake. The window opens two ways (turn the handle up or down to open the window fully or just prop it open. There are no screens on the window, so I suspect at some times of the year, bugs would come in. Even in spring we needed to open the window to get some airflow into the room. A note about the window for parents...Parents you need to watch your kids as there is not a very high railing in front of the window, it would be easy for a curious kid to climb up into the window and fall out the window. In North America, such a window would not exist in a hotel, and I would urge this hotel to put some better safety measures in place. But our kids were old enough to listen to our rules about keeping their feet on the floor when looking out the window if it was open. Once we figured out that turning the handle the other way opened the window part way, we kept it that way for air. Due to the location, and the need to keep the window open at times, you will hear noise from outside. There is a square directly in front of the hotel and it is right beside the metro station, so there is a lot of foot traffic around the hotel. The noise didn't bother us, because we're good sleepers, but other travelers should bring ear plugs if noise is an issue for their sleep.

The room is nice and clean. The view from the room is extremely beautiful. The location is very convenient, it takes only 1 mins walk from the tram station. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Staff can explain most of the question about the area.

We got off to a really bad start. We had a top floor (attic) room with the view of the lake as requested and paid for. The bathroom bin had not been emptied since the previous occupant which was a nasty start. Small room, laminate floor, sitting on the bed reading resulted in the bed sliding along the laminate. We had a rather strange bed cover - a sort of sideways single duvet which left both head and feet sticking out. Another duvet was in the wardrobe so able to add that. Housekeeping failed to replace the water on the second day. The bathroom was very small and the shower needed to be hand held or spun round soaking everything. Shower curtain - haven’t seen one of those in years. Clean enough but very dated. Very good situation close to the metro. Reception staff pleasant although unable to help with booking train tickets. Disappointing.

Great view of the lake, excellent location, quiet room, friendly staff, easy access to public transportation which is free, easy shopping for everyday needs, close to restaurants. No need to be fancy to be charming.

I really enjoyed my stay at your hotel. Though I have been in Lausanne for business, I felt staying at Hôtel Aulac like in vacation. The location, standards of the room, facilities and service are excellent. Hôtel Aulac will be my choice when being in Lausanne again.
