I was a bit nervous after reading such great reviews in case I would expect too much but OH MY GOODNESS, this place is wonderful! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and relaxed. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and the hotel itself is beautiful. There is too much for me to write about but highlights included: -the coral nursery snorkelling and fish feeding, my daughters (almost 5 & 2) absolutely loved it -the beach is stunning -the pool is so well designed there is always shade and plenty of places for my youngest to play and the water slide is brilliant, we didn’t even get round to using the kids club as my daughters were so happy at the pool even when it rained -the spa, the views and massage provide a complete escape -the wildlife and grounds My list goes on, we loved it. Thank you to The Andaman for our wonderful holiday!
We had a groupf of 13 people (5 rooms) stay for our Dad's 70th. 5 kids ranging from 2 - 8. The resort was perfect for us. Loads to do to keep everyone happy. Food was brilliant, Chef is a champion. So many great employees, too many to mention but to name a few (Rajah - thanks mate!!! - you made our trip!!!! Alvin, Raj from F&B, Aliya who was so amazing with my 2 year old, Aunty Ani from Housekeeping who connected with my kids and was absolutely delightful). So many more including the ladies at Kids Club. The activities were fantastic, coral nursery was a highlght for my 5 year old. If you want a resort that caters to all in an incredibly beautiful surrounding and lots to do, stay here - we will return.
It's always a great pleasure and excitement to stay at Andaman. From the time I get out of the car I know I step into another world. The location of the hotel is exceptional. The hotel itself is very unique and its staff very attentive. The atmosphere is so inviting that i like to come back to Andaman to energise myself. Highly recommended.
We stayed for six nights at the Andaman and had a wonderful stay all the way! The rooms and facilities are excellent. Although not new, the rooms are in good condition, and they're spacious and very well-equipped. The beach is wonderful and kept very tidy by the resort staff. The rainforest backdrop is just stunning. The pool area is big and was highly appreciated by our kids (3 and 1 y.o) and also by ourselves, to be honest... The pool is nicely laid out in the landscape. The rainforest is present everywhere, which is wonderful, and the staff makes a great job keeping paths, the pool, the buildings and the restaurants and recreational areas clean from leaves and dirt. We had quite a lot of rain during our stay (which was at the most rainy time of the year, in Sept/Oct), but still everything was kept very orderly. The food was great: from the high quality breakfast to the different lunch/dinner/bar options. We really appreciated the fact that our kids could eat for free thanks to their young age. Potential guests should be aware that the location of the resort is remote, and so dining elsewhere in practice requires the guests to have their own wheels. We took both a morning and an evening nature walk arranged by and at the resort, both of which were led by the same ambitious, knowledgeable man. Interesting, indeed, and it's amazing how much wildlife can be found without even leaving the hotel premises! The top draw of this resort, however, was the extremely friendly and helpful staff: always with a smile, and with what felt like a genuine interest in the guests. Our kids were spoiled by getting a lot of attention, and they loved the staff members in return! The kids club was also a great asset: big, ambitious, with a very nice range of toys and books, and again with very friendly staff. There were a lot of activities arranged for the kids also, which we had certainly participated in had our kids been a bit bigger. Upon checkout, we (a company of six people ranging from 70 to 1 year old) discussed the experience staying at the resort and tried to come up with something that was not to our satisfaction. None of us could think of anything... We will definitely come back to this wonderful place!
Memorable experience at Andaman Hotel, Langkawi, simply because of unbelievable human touch/approach at all levels. To name a few: One-stop solution centre is Yuva Rajah (King in short by name and his passionate service). Angel of all the kitchens is “Accidental Chef Shankran”. He learnt the cooking out of necessity when his former boss was unable to work. His “Heavenly Lobster Briyani & Chicken curry” still lingers in our tongues. Few other exceptional personalities are Amila (Managerial caliber), Velan (efficient service), Hana (impressive cocktail maker) Mahesh (perfect communicator), Sok Chai (magic bar tender) and Hotel Manager Vijay who constantly supports/encourages all his team members. Bravo Andaman team!!!
Greeted with smiles as soon as we arrived, we were upgraded to a sea view, and such a beautiful view it is. As some have said, the hotel is dated and is showing its age BUT the super friendly staff along with such amazing views and wildlife soon distracts you. Our first morning at breakfast we watched monkeys in the trees, this was the first of many sightings and i cannot tell you just how fantastic it was to sit and watch and being so close to these little animals. We went on the morning & night nature walks, such an interesting way to spend an hour, the guide was very informative and kept everyone engaged. We learnt so much during these walks and saw quite a lot of animals. The beach is probably one of the nicest we have been on, and I rated it better than ones we've been on in Cuba, Thailand and even the Maldives. Its clean and they attend to it daily. Ok there's lots of dead coral so you just need to watch where you walk. The views of the bay and Jungle really are something to be seen, so peaceful sitting / laying there taking in the sounds of the Jungle WOW! We enjoyed the Indian food the most, all the food was good including room service. Breakfast there is so much choice with fresh juice done daily. We spoke to lots of members of staff, and they cannot do enough for you, so open and friendly, their English is exceptional. Thank you for such an amazing holiday and allowing us to be in a rain forest for 5 days. The sightings of the wildlife is a massive bonus daily, we loved it!
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and the staff working there. We picked this hotel to unwind for a few days after a couple of weeks of touring, and what a good decision that was. If you are looking for peace, tranquility and relaxation in an idyllic setting, then look no further. The Andaman is situated in the North West of the island on the edge of the national park on Datai Bay, where the lush forest comes right down to the beach. With just two hotels in the bay, and situated on a dead end road, there is no traffic or town noise to disturb your stay, just sea eagles, hornbills and kites circling over the clear waters and white sands. The location also provides a sense of safety and security for people travelling alone, one of the guests even extended her stay because of this. This haven in the jungle is not just enjoyed by the guest, but also by a wide variety of natures other residents, including families of dusky monkeys, sea otters and the occasional monitor lizard. Although the hotel is set aside from the hustle and bustle of town life it is only a short ride to the main sites and the airport... but you probably won't want to leave. Another welcome bonus is the variety of restaurants within the hotel and the quality and variety of the food. Oh, and the Spa! The spa is perched above the bay on the edge of the forest over looking the sea. The treatments are top quality and should not be missed. Last but, by no means least, I must pay tribute to all of the staff we met, from our initial warm welcome right through to our departure, it was clear that their intention was to make our stay the very best it could be. They were at all times polite and attentive without being overbearing. Thank you all. A very special mention goes to Marc BAER, front of house manager. When we arrived we were tired and my wife was unwell. Marc's care and assistance was far beyond that which we could have expected and he went out of his way to ensure that we enjoyed every day of our stay and that we left thoroughly relaxed. Everything about the Andaman Hotel is so good that we have booked to return there again later this year... and we cannot wait.
Our honeymoon couldn't have been better, great memories have been treasured forever. Highly recommend , a truly amazing 5 star resort set amongst the rain forest with a private beach, incredible staff and amazing wildlife. Everything that screams a 5 star beach resort. Definitely will be coming back to stay at the resort. Special shout out here to Tan , Chokche, Vernando and Raj for making our stay extra special. Staff here were absolutely brilliant.
My girlfriend and I stayed here as part of a Malaysia tour for a nice bit of luxury and peace and quiet. We got exactly that and more. I also proposed as part of the trip and Roni and Azizi couldn’t have made this any more perfect, offering back up plans if there was rain as I had planned to do the job on the beach. Delighted to say she said yes and the staff gave us the most incredible celebration and congratulations throughout the remainder of our stay. Both the beach and pool were fantastic with a great happy hour (price reduction based on the temperature). Room too was spacious and great to watch the monkeys from the balcony. Would strongly recommend this hotel to all!
We stayed for 10 nights and completely unwound and relaxed. The location is superb being slightly remote surrounded by jungle and the sea and a huge highlight is the wildlife sharing the area - we were regularly joined by dusky leaf monkeys, monitor lizards, squirrels & hornbills; all got on with their lives not bothering the humans. The beach and bay are stunning. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the service they gave was excellent. Whilst the hotel and accommodation is over 20 years old there are very view signs of its maturity; the layout is such that the hotel is quiet and uncluttered even when there are a good number of guests. On site there are 4 restaurants giving a good variety of food choices - our favourite for flavour and show was the Japanese teppanyaki. It’s very easy to explore the island by taxi or the hotel can arrange their own hire car at 190MR (£38) for the day; driving around is easy and feels safe. We highly recommend the Andaman and the team there. Thank you very much for one of the best holidays we’ve ever had.
