Two adults and two eleven year olds we stayed 3 nights and we have nothing to complain about! On the first day we noticed that there was no hot water on the shower and after talking to reception we were almost immediately moved to a new and more superior room. We found that the reception, bar staff, maintenance man (we love you) and restaurant staff were friendly and polite. New year was a pleasant surprise as we were not planning to bring the new year in the actual hotel. The new year celebration more than made up for the disappointment of where we were supposed to be. Once again friendly staff, free food, plenty of dancing and music and to top it all off a fireworks display straight out side. Other nights were equally was enjoyable where just staying for a single drink ended up staying a little longer. This included sharing a takeaway with other guests in the bar where the bar staff supplied plates and cutlery. Thank you Lawton and all its staff for making a potential disastrous stay in Blackpool a very enjoyable one!
Stayed one night end of December. Reception staff very friendly on arrival. Charged £4 to park and shown to the car park just across the road at another hotel. Room was very small with the smallest double bed I have ever slept in. Room was clean and absolutely fine if just somewhere to sleep. Was told bar open til 3am. Didn't have breakfast as didn't make it down until check out time which was 11am. Nothing negative to say about hotel but also nothing to have me rushing back.
We stayed in the Lawton from 29th Dec till 3rd Jan, group of 21 (ages 8-81) we had a wonderful time. Rooms and meals were great ideal for our needs, which had to be changed 1 week before we arrived due to one of our group having an operation. Staff are wonderful, very helpful and polite. See you all in December.
The staff was very friendly and the rooms where clean. The rooms are spacious and there is a lift. We stayed on New Years Eve and at midnight there was a fireworks display infront of the hotel and they served free sandwhiches. The breakfast is very good although it was a bit late for our liking (8:00 - 9:30). Over all it was a great stay.
Recently stayed here for the weekend with a couple of friends. Whilst the hotel was clean and spacious, I think it's more suited to friends and small families rather than couples. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance to the Tower. There is onsite parking, however it is around the back of the hotel. It was reasonably priced, and I would stay again.
Booked for two nights for a cheerleading competition at Norbeck castle, Arrived after a long journey to find toilet very dirty both in bowl and on seat, unhoovered, dirty towels with make up on etc, no heating, neither of the two radiators worked, shower door fell off (luckily my husband was able to realign it), when I complained the toilet was cleaned, the towels replaced with clean ones and we were given one electric radiator as a replacement, which on the extremely cold night that it was wasn’t enough. When I complained I was advised to speak with reception in the morning, when I did this I was greeted by a staff member who was defensive, arrogant and rude, no apology just abruptly asked me if issues had been rectified to which I said they had but I wasn’t happy, again I was asked abruptly if i wanted to move rooms but according to other guests they had no heating either so felt it would be more inconvenience for no better so declined. The evenings were no better the foyer had kids screaming and running about reception in their pajamas and teenage girls staggering thru reception with bottles of vodka, kids running up and down corridors until late, it Was awful and unacceptable when we had paid over £200 for our two nights which was meant to be a treat for our children. The only positive was Dave and Karen in the restaurant, although breakfast was basic and tasteless they were the only friendly and helpful staff we saw during our stay sadly. Before writing this review, i did contact the owners in the hope they would want to make right due to all the issues we had experienced, instead they apologised and said they were glad that the issues were recitified after I complained and that they had given us ‘extra’ heating (when we had none to start with!) and I had refused the offer of another room, but they would let the restaurant staff know how happy we were with them!!! So i would NOT recommend that you stay here atall!!
I was here for a football match so lt was ideally situated 5 minutes walk from all the main attractions and the Blackpool tower and 5 minutes drive from the football ground the hotel is fairly large the rooms are comfortable with ensuite bathroom tv tea/coffee etc breakfast was superb nothing not to like
If you're looking for a convenient, friendly and inexpensive stay in Blackpool then this hotel fits the bill. The hotel is within a 5-10 minute walk from the Tower and there is car parking and a lift. We had a twin room on the second floor which was a bit dated in decor but had everything you needed. The corridors and floorboards are a bit creaky and the walls aren't insulated, but the room had good heating and was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and excellent service by the many staff.
Stayed for 2 nights to attend Strictly Live at the Tower, which was made even more enjoyable by friendly and helpful staff, especially DEBBIE in the dining room, and Dave too. Easy walking distance from the Tower, and has a lift.
great stay disabled access was very good friendly and helpful because my wife was not well asked if she could have breakfast brought up was about 20 in coming up couldn't fault the service at all within walking distance of main shops
