had a great time with family and friends the hotel on charnley street top class staff and top class breakfast spacious room ensuite great bar prices and the staff today were very helpful cleaning the car of seagull droppings
Upon arrival we noticed it was in quite a rough street but looked passed this as the hotel looked pleasant. We were told to park on double yellow lines to unload the car and that we would be shown to the car park... which is 2 blocks over at the sister company hotel and were charged £8 for 2 nights parking (Told it was included on booking.com). When we got to our rooms, the 1st room was moderately clean, poky but did the job, the bathroom door wouldn't open much due to being close to the bed which made it a pain to get in and out of the bathroom. Room 2, when opened the room stank of strong sewage! when complained they advised that it must be dry traps in the plumbing and admitted they hadn't been that busy lately. we were also advised that there was a hair dryer in every room, but room 2 didn't have one which was required! The "games room" consists of 3 broken fruit machines, 2 knackered pool tables and an archaic football table. When we played pool the table jammed and didn't release all the balls and we were told to use another table which had the same issue. The downstairs area's are in dire need of restoration and appear to be 1/2 finished! We found the other games room which is shown on the images but must have take about 5 years ago as its very dirty. it again consisted of a fruit machine, 1 knackered pool table, some dirty kids games and a dart board. When the pool table broke due to something blocking the balls from being released we were advised it couldn't be sorted until the morning. The night staff are very rude and ignorant apart from a chap named Kyle who is very friendly and was willing to do his best to assist us. Breakfast is ok but nothing to write home about. Full English but it's been pre-cooked and put under heat lamps as it was plated and on the table with-in 3 minutes of us sitting down at the table. When we asked if we could order an evening meal they advised us that they didn't do food, apart from breakfast... So it's really a B&B not a hotel! My advise, if you want a mid ranged priced hotel but expect poor service and mediocre setting then book with the "Lawton Hotel" sorry Lawton B&B. WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS B&B AGAIN!
Everyone was very helpful, nothing was to much trouble, good breakfast, rooms clean and bright, parking at the rear, close to all amenities, bar for a drink if required, nice place, nice location For the tower.
Positives: - Nice staff - Good location - Good breakfast - Good pillows Negatives: - Room was absolutely filthy. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned and a previous guest’s used razor was still in the shower. Wasn’t sure what to expect from Blackpool but as a hotel, cleanliness is most definitely a basic you need to get right. - Quite noisy in the corridor during the night. - Car park was really far away and cost £4 per night. Not that big a deal to us as thankfully we were only there one night. - No toiletries. Don’t expect Jo Malone but most establishments marketing themselves as hotel provide a shampoo. - No mattress protector on either bed so lucky us, we got to lie upon the bodily sweat and fluids of previous guests. - Furniture was very flimsy and was falling apart. This wasn’t the cheapest place we looked at. My husband said he wouldn’t even come to this hotel on a stag party and, from having worked with offenders, said prison conditions are actually better.
Recently returned form a 2 night stay in the Lawton Hotel. The hotel is situated a 10 minuet walk from the beech front. The hotel itself is a little dated but very tidy and clean and comes with a secure parking area 5 minuets walk away and is only £4.00 per night which is excellent value. We found the staff pleasant, polite and friendly throughout our stay. The only real negative thing I would say about the hotel is the TV in the rooms is very small, apart form that we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend using this hotel, If we ever visit Blackpool again this would be the first hotel I would look to stay in. Excellent Value For Your Money.
Stayed one night. Bedroom very small and dated, but clean. Very small bed, not a double. Breakfast had choice of cereals and juice followed by a full English breakfast served by a very pleasant waitress.
We visited The Lawton for my elderly mothers birthday, we requested a low floor room but were given top (3rd) floor, there is a lift so suppose it wasn't so bad other than the room windows were quite high so difficult to look out of or open and close for that matter, we had a family room 2x single beds and x 1 double which was ok other than x 1 of the singles was a bit cut off from the rest of the room and whoever used this bed could not see the very small tv attached to the wall. We had breakfast in the hotel and the dining room staff were all lovely, very friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for you, felt the reception staff were a bit standoffish, some need to learn how to smile..... Location of hotel is great for all the amenities though, short walk to tower, shopping centre and winter gardens, further for pleasure beach though.... but can't have everything on your doorstep....
A very satisfying stay rooms clean very close to the town centre staff very friendly helpful and breakfast brilliant a very happy and enjoyable stay and good bar and very helpful and friendly staff. I absolutely love it. The Lawton hotel and staff thank you for a lovely 4 days.
Originally we booked for the Lawtons sister hotel the Beechfield only to receive a phone call the day before saying we had been relocated here as otherwise we would have been its only guest at the Beechfield. As we were traveling from another resort we arrived 2 1/2 hours before check-in time, fortunately our room was available which was a very pleasant surprise and gave us extra time to spent exploring the area. Room was small but nicely decorated with what looked like new curtains and carpet. The only let down was the bathroom, dirty shower and no grouting on the floor between the tiles. Enjoyed breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpfull. The hotel has lifts but there still steps to some rooms and is situated a 10-15 minute walk from the Tower and Winter Gardens. Would have left 4 stars if not for the bathroom.
Basic hotel offering small basic rooms with a good breakfast, car park a few hundred yards walk. Bar service spoilt with loud music, we asked if they could change the TV channel & they did but put sub titles on & kept the loud music going. Drove us to have an early night. Our room bathroom was not that clean. It was ok for one night but we would not use this hotel for anything longer.
