Libertador Hotel Lago Titicaca4.0 out of 5.0

Stayed at Libertador for two nights and the views of both the township of a Puno and the Uros floating islands is stunning. The orientation of the hotel is perfect for the views from the rooms a and all the public spaces. The rooms were large and comfortable and the bathrooms quite nice. If I had to criticise anything it would be the Hotel is quite a way out of town and the dining at the hotel was the most expensive we experienced in the whole time we were in Peru. Build on that the quality of the dining was only average it was OK but a bit of a disappointment as we arrive late one day with our children and they weren’t up for a ride into Puno. On the second night we paid the 10 sols and caught a cab into the city where there is a great selection of cheap dining.
The location of the hotel is great and the views over lake titicaca are gorgeous, but the hotel is in desperate need of renovation! The food was awful, the room was tiny, it needed a good clean. It felt like the management were on a cost cutting exercise. Not great. Thankfully it was only 1 night
Reception poor and it took a long time to check-in. Rooms very large and ours had a lake view which was magnificent. Lobby bar area large but it was chilly so they had some very welcome fires lit.Breakfast was good and buffet type. Vieweing from the lake ti reminds one of a large cruise ship
Tired and in need of a facelift. Huge with rooms on both sides, either looking at the lake or back to Puno township. Great position on a little island on the lake. Very stuffy, needs some windows open to get some fresh air. A little smelly at times, septic tanks leaking? A beautiful setting and position. Wifi very eratic.
The Lidertador Lake Titicaca couldn't be more perfectly placed. In a peaceful corner of Puno, it is modern, clean and awfully nice. It was wonderful watching the sun set over the lake.... Enjoy the gardens surrounding the hotel and take a stroll down to the lake where you can board a boat for a trip to the Uros Islands.
Awesome hotel, breakfast was the best we really enjoyed the restaurant, excellent food and prices, amazing view, but our favorite of all was the breakfast!! That was a win! Plus the restaurant staff were very kind and efficient Highly recommended
We where here only 3 days but stay in that hotel is really perfect❤ Libertador has a great location. In the room we had a very beautiful view on the lake Titicaca.❤ we had even a sunrise in our room:-) it was very nice to bee just in the room:-) But we had a very very nice experience in Libertador's restaurant. We meet a sweet waiter who was as great name: Cesar and was as a great waiter❤ his kindly smile and service was pleasent to be there. The restaurant serve such a delicious menu an the vines as well. Everything was really great. We recomend You to stay in there!!! Great place. Great restaurant. Great CESAR. Thank You for Your hospitality❤❤❤
The location of this hotel is excellent right on the shores of Lake Titicaca. I had a sunrise view room and there is no doubt that the view from the room was excellent. I found the room to be too hot and despite lowering the temperature on the A/C control it made no difference. The room was a good size but was looking rather dated and the bathroom was quite small. The shower is over the bath which may be a problem for some people and had a shower curtain which tends to make it seem rather claustophobic. There are no tea or coffee making facilities within the room. I also found the room to be quite noisy. I could clearly hear the water running in the room next to mine and the sound of people in the reception area carried up through the central atrium to my 4th floor. Most annoying when a large tour group was checking out early at about 6am. I suggest you ask for a room further away from the central atrium. Be sure to make reservations for dinner, earlier rather than later as the restaurant had trouble coping with the number of people staying versus the size of the restaurant. The food itself was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel has oxygen available should you find yourself suffering from altitude sickness. Several people in our tour group ended up having to avail themselves of this.
The public areas of this hotel are spacious and quite pleasant. The staff are pleasant too. It's not really in easy walking distance from the town centre so it's taxi ride time if you want to go in. What we did see of Puno coming and going on excursions didn't encourage me to go in after a long day out and about. Bar food is OK and includes what you'd get via room service but cheaper - pizzas and burgers, sandwiches and salads. We had a plain pizza marguerita and a couple of salads with Peruvian red wine over two evenings. It came to £36 - not bad for two reasonable evening meals.
This hotel is on a small island connected to the mainland by a causeway. The setting is marvelous. There is a walking path around the hotel. The hotel itself is perched on a small hill. Views are great. The rooms are well kept, the bathrooms are bit small though fully functional. The breakfasts are above average. The only downside is it's a cab ride to the city centre. That is a S/10 ($3USD) cost each way. Only a minor problem, though I do enjoy walking to restaurants.
