Last minute booking for us since I'm usually good at doing it way earlier. Arrived to be pleasantly surprised to a free upgrade. Room was very nice, cute, and clean. Mornings on the dock was very relaxing. Wish we could had stayed longer!

We arrived early during a snowstorm. The girl at the front desk was not very accommodating. She suggested we go to Downtown Truckee until check in time. Why she didn't suggest or let us sit in the gathering area of the building out room was in was shocking. Most hotels would have at least gone a little out of their way to assist. The car we rented did not have snow tires or chains so we were a bit apprehensive about driving around..

Very positive experience. The hotel staff was very nice and provided good information. The lake was gorgeous so get a room with a view.

Our stay was okay. The room was clean but the bed was not particularly comfortable. The linens are old and worn.

This is not a fancy hotel, but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We were in the laveview studio and had phenonminal views of the lake. The room and halls are very dated, but that was ok because it was nice to have the kitchenette, couch, dining table and plenty of room for a family of four, and views. On the minus side, there are no restaurants or stores nearby other than a tiny store across the parking lot that closes very early. We plan to go back.

Nice hotel close to the lake. Good to get lake view room. Room clean staff needs to be more trained as how to clean the room.

View is beautiful area was close to Boreal and Woodwoard Skate Park.

Great location close to the Marina and downtown truckee. Closest restaurant is 3 miles away and only open until 8pm.

noisy. Walls are really thin you can hear people walking above you and in the rooms next door. Hard to sleep if people coming in and out fairly late. Beds are not that comfortable. Good location, like the kitchen.

Nice location, easy access to the Boreal ski resort.

We arrived a bit early (checkin is at 4:00pm), and the room wasn't ready. They said that they would call when it was. They did not. When I went back to the office around 4:00pm, the room was actually ready, but their system said it wasn't so they didn't call. We had registered three guests, but both days they left only two sets of towels. The office closes at 6:00pm, so there was no one to get extra towels from. They also didn't leave any new soap; they provided one very small bar for two days. The office doesn't open until 9:00am, and there were no clear instructions on how to check out if no one was there. You had you use a telephone outside of the office and follow the procedures for checking in.

Julie at the office was very helpful, and accommodating.. She gave us an upgrade on a room for the same price. We so loved being there we wanted one more night and once again she worked with us and found us another room. You are very fortunate to have a great, personable employee as you know, your success depends on people-person staff such as Julie. While we were there we took advantage of the boat rental place on property and found they were very thorough with the safety issues and instructions. We took out a party boat for a couple hours. . We so enjoyed sitting on beach and fishing off the dock area.

Great place for a weekend stay. We had a lodgette room that was great for 3 people, as long as someone does't mind sleeping on the pull out sofa. We were arriving late, so the staff gave us all of the codes we would need to access our room with no problem. All of the staff was very friendly & helpful. You can't beat the location since it's right on the lake. And it's close enough to Alpine Meadows & Squaw. Definitely would return to stay in the summer. Valley too.

good stay overall. Location is convenient! Good for family travel. Room is little small.

The reception person Mark I believe was has name was very helpful. The 'Maid" service staff noticed I had left my iPod in the room. They sent one of the staff after me and returned the iPod in the parking lot. Many thanks.

The room that we stayed in was 243. Lodgette with Lake view. It was small but we had a queen bd and queen fold out sofa. The interior was dated and the floors squeaked but we had a small stove, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. In the bathroom there was a toilet and shower and there should have been a door and then the sink. The walls are very thin and you can hear people going up and down the hall and from the bedrooms. We found out each unit is owned privately so each one is decorated to owner's liking. There are lounges at the end of the hallways and ours had a great fireplace in the center with panoramic views of the lake and mountains and comfortable couches. Great way to end the day. Staff was nice and there was a little store across the street for convenience. (not a lot of items to select from though). Ski resorts fairly close. All in all it was a great trip. Not much snow this year but we found enough. Don't expect a 4 star but if you're not picky it's a good place and you can't get a better location on the water.

My room was great. It was pleasant to find that the room had basically almost full kitchen capability, which you don't find in hotels often. The bed was also super comfortable. Great location too :)

two friends and I stayed at the Donner Lake Village Resort this past weekend. We were very happy with the accommodations. The one-bedroom apartment unit is ROOMY! full size kitchen, full size everything. Staff very friendly. cleanliness met my standards. wi-fi signal a little weak and slow, but it works. The only things I could wish for are more stores and restaurants in the vicinity, so you don't have to drive 5 miles to town for everything. I would love a hot tub too. otherwise, this place can't be beat. I shall return!

We stayed here with our 2 kids for a 2-night stay and for our needs this place was perfect. The small kitchen was well equipped and allowed us to make breakfast and prepare lunch. The place was overall clean and nicely located right on the shore of Donner lake. The beds were ok, the parents slept in the bed and the kids on the sofa bed. We had a 20 minute drive to Squaw Valley and less than 10 minutes to Sugar Bowl. Very good value for the money.

Thank you for highlighting our beautiful views! A very late \ May snow storm is always a surprise. I am sorry your arrival experience what not what you were looking for. I am guessing the front desk person was trying to get you to Truckee because it is a wonderful town and a lot more interesting in the great town of Truckee than sitting in the front desk gathering area. I apologize we did not meet your needs at this time.
