Only in Lake City, CO would you find a rustic and quaint (probably built 1940's) cabin for well over $100 a night to be a great experience. However, Cannibal Cabins proves to be just that. Cabin 9 is one of the larger cabins with two queen bedrooms, a large living room and sizable kitchen. The rooms are immaculate and have been remodeled and keep very neat, tidy, and clean. There is good wi-fi and even cable movies. The staff are very informative and helpful. Although there was a challenge (not of their making!), the staff was determined to solve the issue and make sure we were happy even though the fault was the hotel booking company. The only caveat is the bathroom where it is a wee bit snug getting in and out of the shower safely - a grab bar might be a good idea. Lake City is a delightful place to visit and this is a totally appropriate old world cabin sort of place that is fits right in with the delightful town.

It's went down hill fast in a year. No hot water first morning called and was told ya we know ran out of propane. Would of been nice to know when we checked in. It wasn't any cheaper.Had no complaints last year except they double billed us we thought it was honest mistake at the time but now don't know? If you want to stay in dirty run down place where hot water isn't a must then this is your place.

Great location and I found it very safe for my kids to run around and have fun. I found the booking and check in process super easy. The cabin we stayed in (#2) was in need of updating compared to the other cabins I saw. It was clean and comfortable. I didn't do a cost comparison for the other lodges in the area so I don't know the value compared to others.

Recently updated cabins, clean and comfortable, the hosts Diane and Jerry were great, gave us some great hints about where to eat and what to see. Will look to stay here again on my next visit to Lake City

My family and friends visited LC and loved our vacation at the Westwood Resort! Keith and Theresa provided the best service, making us feel at home. We enjoyed the cabin, fresh baked cookies, nights by the fire making s'mores with the kids. Restaurants and activities close by. We went rafting down the Taylor River, rented jeeps and did the Alpine Loop and enjoyed our cabin at the Westwood Resort. We will be back every summer!!!! Thanks for your hospitality and nice accommodations!!! We loved Henry too!!!! Dog friendly resort!!!!!

Great place to stay, prime location, right in the middle of town. If you are looking to get away from it all and just have fun this is your kind of place, if you are a princess and need room service..........Go to another town. LOL. We took the whole family and reserved 5 cabins, we love Keith and Teresa they are so sweet. We can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend at the Westwood Resort. Very cute little cabin. Had all the amenities that we needed. Pet friendly location!! :) We LOVED that we could bring our dogs to the mountains with us. Our room was clean and well kept. The owners were very kind. We were even given fresh baked cookies and banana bread! YUMMMY!! They are very family and pet friendly. The location was perfect for us...close to town and easy access to mountain roads. We are looking forward to another trip!

My family (kids and dog) recently enjoyed four wonderful nights at the Westwood Resort. The two bedroom cabin was clean and had all the accommodations we needed to enjoy a family getaway. The owners of the Westwood, Keith and Theresa were friendly and helpful in informing us of local restaurants and sites to enjoy. Our dog, Judd, got along well with the head of the resort "Henry" the owners dog. It is wonderful to stay in a pet friendly, family friendly resort that is affordable and welcoming. Theresa even got me walking each morning to exercise and see the beautiful mountain sites.

We recently stayed at the Westwood cabins and was treated better than you could expect. We didnt have reservations and could only stay one night. The owners took us in with no problem and set us up in a very nice, quaint cabin with everything you needed. She even brought us home made bread and cookies. Their dog, Henry, is great. We sat out by a fire that evening and enjoyed the nice quiet atmosphere of Lake City. I would highly recommend this place and we will be back.

We enjoyed a simple three-bed cabin during a ladies' weekend in Lake City. The tall gentleman running the place is friendly, personable and very welcoming. Yes, cabin 8 is a bit run-down, but it was warm, dry an spacious - just what we needed - all at a good price!
