Not a 4 star hotel, not really a hotel as we expect to see in the US. Just 4 or 5 rooms in an apartment building. A little rustic (as I expect most places in Riomagiorre are), but overall pretty comfortable and cozy, and the staff was nice. We stayed in room 5, which had 2 small bedrooms, a kitchen area, and private bath. Also had a private entrance in the back, which was only a few steps to an overlook of the sea; very nice. My only real complaint was the tiny shower, but that seemed to be a common thing in Italy (and other parts of Europe).
Room was O.K. Everything felt damp. The towels in the bathroom and when we went to bed, we felt like we were laying on damp sheets. Also, we didn't have enough towels in the bathroom. Doors were hard to lock and unlock. Very difficult to find this room. You check in on a street in town and then they walk you to your room as it is quite the walk with many steep steps. There was black stuff on the walls that looked like mold.
