Super 8 Sparta2.0 out of 5.0

We are staying here for a month while our house is being built. Nothing but friendly and helpful people. They were amazing!
When we walked into the room, it was obvious that the first bed has been very used over the years. There was such a gully. Luckily there were four pillows on the bed. I placed them in the gully so I didn't have to hang onto the side all night or be eaten up by the bed. I think the owner should take a look at it and replace this mattress a.s.a.p! We went down for breakfast about 9 and had limited options. Had 5 pieces of bread left.
We had a wonderful experience staying at the Sparta Super 8. Room was nice and clean. The service was good. I would stay here again.
I have been to multiple Super 8's around the Wisconsin area and most of them are run-down motels turned into Super 8's. This one however didn't smell like cigarette smoke and the rooms were nicely made. The service was there whenever you needed it, and the pool was nice and enjoyable. The only thing that made me question its quality was the internet. I had no connection anywhere except for the lobby, so if they would have put an amplifier on each floor for the wifi signal, that would have made the stay a thousand times more comfortable. Overall, it was a great place and nice hotel to stay in.
Weekend getaway to a great small town, great location to the Sparta-Elroy trailhead . Staff is friendly and helpful. Property seems to have gone downhill since we stayed here last .
good place to stay for a weekend. clean and friendly we stayed for a couples visit. good location. room not fancy but very adequate. didn't have the continental breakfast do i cannot comment. The front desk was helpful.
Very happy with our stay again this year. Once again reserved room for next year. Everyone was very nice!
We stayed here with a group of friends for 1 night in September and had a great time. We biked the Elroy Sparta bike trail which starts a short ride from the hotel. Once on the trail we biked to the small town of Norwalk which is about mid-way on the trail or around 17 miles from the hotel and included a trek through the 3/4 mile tunnel. We stopped in Norwalk at Lil's Corner Bar for beers, burgers and the Badger game (Go Badgers!). Biking through Norwalk is like biking through a movie set from Mayberry RFD--check it out. There was absolutely no traffic on the wide city streets, just picturesque vintage buildings plus the weather was a perfect Fall day in September in Wisconsin. The receptionist at the Super 8 told me Norwalk is becoming more of an Amish community so it's fairly quiet--even on a Saturday afternoon. Fortunately for us there was still a bar in town complete with a bike rack and Lil's Corner Bar offered amazing deep fried cheese curds and burgers at a rock-bottom price. Good food and nice people--definitely worth the ride. After Norwalk we headed back to the Super 8 and took full advantage of the amenities including a pool and hot tub. The pool could have been warmer but the hot tub felt great. Breakfast was the usual continental fare--they do have a waffle maker, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs. They also have a water dispenser at the front desk for filling water bottles before biking. The walls are super-thin typical to these types of hotels. They do have a nice outdoor seating area weather permitting. There were 10 adults in our group and this place worked out well for us.
We have had some ups and downs with Super 8 properties, but this is definitely one of the better ones. Front desk staff was efficient, friendly and very helpful. She was busy with other customers and calls but still to the time to go through the city map when we asked for dining suggestions and gave us recommendations and the best driving directions to all of the choices. We had a great meal at a lovely local cafe in downtown Sparta thanks to her assistance. The room was very large and appeared to have just had upgrades to furnishings and carpet. The bathroom was fine, water pressure and temperature were good, the caulk around the tub was in need of attention but nothing extreme. There was a little hallway noise from other guests but nothing excessive. The continental breakfast was not extensive, but was a typical Super 8 menu and everything was available and well stocked so appropriate and adequate for the property type. Would definitely stay here again. Easy to find off of the interstate.
Their friendly, helpful and cheerful staff enhances a guest's stay and says a great deal about management.
