Easy walk to everything and very quite. Try out Buzzard Billies next door for New Orleans food and hike over a block to the Crow bar for the best cheese curds. Great location.

Key cards had to be reset five times during a two night stay. They were having problems on our floor, 4th, with card readers not working properly. My reservation showed expedia bout I went through orbits. I was refused a receipt at checkout. Supposedly I will get one through expedia, although I booked through Orbits. I still have not received my receipt from anyone.

During a visit when I was unable to use my phone for a wake up call, I asked the desk to do so. Thankfully the sun peaked through the shades to awaken me as they had totally skipped my call. I was an hour late to an important meeting that did not lead to great outcomes. When I told the front desk what had happened the clerk's response was, "Oh, that's too bad...". Very disappointing. I am already locked into one more stay that has no cancellation rights, but will switch to another La Crosse area hotel for my monthly stays after that.

In a good location close to walking distance to a lot of restaurant's and bars.

a Friendly staff greeted us and were very helpful. The pool and jacuzzi are very nice with a great layout to relax and watch kids swim or talk. The parking will cost you but you are in walking distance to all the happenings and just a short drive to the campuses.

my husband and I had a last minute road trip for a family event. The hotel was great and the jacuzzi and pool are awesome after a long car ride or for a morning soak. lots of great restaurants and brew pubs right up the street in walking distance. Clean, pretty and superior staff. We enjoyed it. parking can be tricky. and a $5 fee. nice safe area. close to the river too.

Love the location but the hotel needs a bit of an update. Did not like the fact they charge for parking. The room was quiet and bed was very comfortable!

2 rooms 6 women and it was still a great time. Location next to a lot of night life helped!

I would recommend this hotel very nice beds and clean

The room was awesome and clean and the bed was very comfy!!!!! Would stay there again !!!!!

Came here on the weekend with my fiancee. We both used to live in La Crosse and were back for a visit. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Checked in in under 3 minutes. The parking ramp was pretty full but we managed to find a spot to park. Room was clean and comfortable. View from the 5th floor was nice and locatoin was great as it's only a stone throw to the downtown bars. Used the hot tub and pool which were very nice. Only downside was that it was kind of expensive ($175) for a one king bed room and their is no continental breakfast because of the restaurant. Would stay here again.

Great location but inconsistent staff and shabby hallways detracted from the experience. Parking off site is a bit of a hassle. Didn't get any frequent guest perks and front desk seemed a bit put out when I asked to have credit for my stay linked to my account. I usually stay at Holiday Inn Express properties, which provide a free breakfast at significantly less cost. Not worth the price paid.

We've stayed at this Holiday Inn and Suites before. It's located in the historic district of La Crosse, right beside the Pearl Street Ice Cream and Soda shop and near all sorts of interesting places, just a couple of blocks from the Mississippi River. Ebeneezer's, the restaurant in the hotel, was great! When we stayed before, it was quaint and delightful. This time, it was dingy and run down. Nothing had been updated in more than 5 years since our last stay, and every corner of the room and halls seemed to have a fine layer of dirt and grime. Our first room smelled like wet dog and had an ever-running toilet. We were moved to a room that smelled better, but there was food stuck on the fridge handle and the bed was broken down to the point where you could feel the springs. The staff were responsive to our requests, bringing up more pillows and moving us to another room quickly when we complained, but they were sniping and unpleasant to each other at the registration desk, which made me uncomfortable.

Clean, yet dated rooms. Wallpaper in bathroom needed to be replaced...ripped and or coming off the wall. Noisy bathroom blower. No marble here....modest accommodations...comfortable bed and pillows....heard traffic outside window (sounded like drivers scooping the loop) until after midnight but quiet on Friday night. Work out facility area is the size of a walk in closet with an elliptical, 2 treadmills, and a bike...no weight or weight machines here. Parking charge additional 3 dollars a night in the city's garage connected to hotel was a hidden cost and a surprise to me!! No Starbucks nearby just a few local coffee joints. Stores open 10 or later nearby and no corner or Quick Trip types of stored within walking distance...so I bought water and snacks at hotel's vending machines. College students at front desk were pleasant and helpful.

Not impressed with overall stay!

Business

The accommodations were nice. Easy check in and check out. Many restraurants in walking distance. Close to waterfront. Saw very little staff in hotel.

Decent Holiday Inn in a great location. Seemed silly they charge for parking (even though it's just $3 a night - just the principle) Other parking is free down in the downtown area. Fantastic homemade ice cream shop accross the street, I would highly recommend. Comfy beds, nice staff, could use a bit of udating as far as carpet and decor, but still fairly updated.

We purposely picked a hotel within walking distance to the downtown area to avoid driving around. This enabled us to freely walk to wherever we wanted to go and shop, eat, drink, etc. This place was centrally located for our destinations.

The staff was terribly rude and uncooperative; they would not accommodate my 85 year old mother in law who has trouble walking for long periods of time. We complained to the management and all they did was change our room, which didn't solve anything. [...] the hotel charged me over $200 for smoking when we didn't even smoke!!! Now we're dealing with corporate trying to get my money back, because the hotel management is rude and unwavering.
