My wife and I were looking for anything after the rain came down on this dark night. We picked the 1st motel that came into sight. Great choice. This place was friendly, clean and had a great rate. We slept well and left after we had a wonderful breakfast. We will stay here again.
Management was friendly and professional, room was clean and comfortable, continental breakfast was good. However, the deadbolt on our room did not lock (out of alignment) and there was no lock at all on the side door to the parking lot. Also, the toilet seat was missing a bolt (actually, it was lying on top of the tank) so it was only fastened on one side. There doesn't seem to be much soundproofing. We and several other guests were kept awake by a very loud party going on in one room and out in the hall. Management was able to break this up around 1:00 am (not an easy task, and it seemed that it could have turned into a bad situation)--but the fact that the side door is unsecured allowed some extra "guests" to have easy access to the party. After the paying guests returned to their own rooms and things quieted down, at least one or two of the others returned to the building and started yelling angrily at someone in the hall. They left after maybe 15 minutes and I was finally able to sleep for a couple of hours.
The staff at this hotel are friendly and helpful - they made us feel like family during our stay. With a recent remodel, the hotel looks bright and fresh. The rooms are beautiful and very clean, the beds are comfortable. Prices are reasonable and the hotel is in a convenient location. We will most certainly stay here again during our next visit to La Crosse.
Just off the Freeway , being remodeled but still a good place to stay , Friendly and very helpful staff , Joanie was great , very helpful with roads and trip planning . Owners great also , clean comfortable , AM breakfast
Be very careful. Made reservations for the state track meet at a price gouging $129 per night. However after a change in plans cancelled the room 2 weeks in advance. But was still charged. When I inquired they said that i had reserved 2 rooms and only cancelled 1. Since i booked online i had my cancellation confirmation, but that didn't matter. The hotel said i needed to contact corporate. After 5 phone calls and close to an hour and a half on hold the issue still is not resolved. Only choice i have is to dispute it via my credit card. Seems like a scam to me Needless to say I'm done with all choice hotels. I shouldn't have to deal with this BS that they created.
I enjoyed my stay at this econo lodge. They are going through a major renovation. There is a lot going on inside and in the parking lot. Not the quietest stay. The manager/owner was friendly and professional upon check in. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. What else does one need? Request a 1st floor room. I only stayed for one night then continued my road trip.
The place is a dump but it's being remodeled. Workers were loud until 9:00 p.m. Front desk service was extremely friendly, but bathroom was dirty. Would NOT recommend this hotel - at least not until renovations are complete. Old part of town - not much to do or eat nearby.
I stayed here for an emergency situation, and it was fine. Clean but kinda smelled like smoke despite the no smoking signs, good monthly rates. They went up after my stay though.Kinda inconsistent, some rooms had old microwaves and CRT TV's, others had flatscreens and new microwaves.
This was the perfect place for me, inexpensive, clean, and just a few miles from the event center downtown. As a small business person I don't have extra funds to spend on upscale places. Also, I felt like there was a real effort made to make the place pleasant on limited funds. The young man who checked me in at 10pm was very friendly and helpful. I'll be staying there next year when I do the Holiday Craft Show again.
We just completed a month long cross country trip and this was without a doubt the dirtiest, most disgusting place we stayed at. The room had food on the floor from the .people who were there the night before. When I asked the manager about this he said they were very busy and did not have a chance to vacuum. No chance to vacuum? Wow, in most hotels vacuuming is a standard service and not a luxury. There were cigarette ashes on the end tables despite this being a no smoking hotel. At breakfast the topic of conversation was bedbugs in the rooms. I'd sleep in the parking lot before I'd sleep in a room in this hotel!
