My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Shizutetsu Hotel in Kyoto, and to be honest, it was one of our most favorite stays in Japan. We appreciate the care that the hotel has for its guests comfort, best example was the massage chair and the feet massager. We recommend staying at this hotel 100%

The 'Hollywood' room was what my 10 year old daughter aptly described it as a coffin room! We held onto our breath so that we don't run out of oxygen in that room! My best problem was with a particular that staff at front desk. t

We were quite impressed with this location as there was a 7/11 right across the hotel & lots of restaurants a short walking distance away! It was a 5 min walk to the bus stop which was also nice. The hotel is very modern and clean! Everyday they leave a bag filled with towels, pajamas, green tea and water which we appreciated. The rooms are a bit small (this is very normal in Japan) so didn’t really bother us at all. Unfortunately there’s no Netflix, YouTube or any other streaming services available on their TVs. The check in process was seamless, someone came over immediately to help us & we were done within 5 minutes! They also have an amenities bar you can help yourself to which consisted of (face creams, razors, toothpaste + toothbrush, hair comb etc.) Check out was also really easy & the luggage forwarding process was very seamless as well too. We scanned a QR code from the front desk & filled out the information ourselves. Overall, would highly recommend!

We stayed 5 nights. Like most of the hotels these days, you are provided with self check-in terminals. The staff assist if you are not able to navigate your way through the process. Our room was clean and the facilities met our needs. We were able to walk to most of the points of interest in Kyoto. There is a subway rail & bus stop close to the hotel. We would certainly rebook if returning to Kyoto.

This hotel had the largest room on a budget!! I really enjoyed this hotel with the massage chair and leg especially after a day of walking in Japan. They held our luggage after checking out, which was great for us to keep exploring. The room's AC was always on which is great after a Summer day!
