Could not be happier about my 2 days stay at Rakucho ryokan. The room was perfect: clean, quiet, the futon super confortable and the showers/toilets clean and surprisingly quite modern. The host was very welcoming and offered really great suggestions for my stay. The small bike rental shop he suggested (“Bike laboratory”) really made my trip to Kyoto a memorable one. I arrived earlier than check in time, but was able to leave my luggage in a locker in the close by subway station and took this time opportunity to visit the awesome Kyoto botanical garden, a short walk away. Will definitely return.

Amazingly friendly host will give insider tips to travelers about the hidden gems of Kyoto. Actually deserves at least three stars for exceptional service, clean and high quality facilities, quiet but convenient for travel location.

Une adorable auberge authetique et chaleureuse, confortable et bien située. L'hôte est tres agréable et serviable ; il est de très bon conseil et vous met vite à l'aise. Arrêt de bus à 4 min a pied. Futons confortables et un equipement efficace. Nombreux points d'eau et une buanderie appréciable.
